Oh no Madness so sorry

RudyDudy · 31/03/2005 09:44

madness - so sorry to hear that - take good care of yourself...

RudyDudy · 31/03/2005 09:50

hello all - I had my scan yesterday and it turns out there really is a baby in there and not just the giant bar of Dairy Milk I had feared was going to show up on the scan. Little one refused to wake up during the entire thing and even rolled away from the screen in protest when the sonographer tried to prod her awake - that's my girl (or boy, obviously). Am so relieved - had thought I would be more relaxed second time around but somehow that does not seem to be the case. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and new due date is 14th October.

btw - when we start a new thread do you think it would be a good idea to have a roll-call with dates, etc? I've lost track of everyone and all the due dates. If people want to post them over the next couple of days am happy to try and put them together.

Hope everyone is feeling okay today - my spots have started to go down but I think that;s through diligent use of Clean & Clear's quick action gel - can't recommend it enough

Well done moomin - nice to know someone's pg brain is still intact. I didn't even think of that .

fastasleep · 31/03/2005 09:57

Aww Rudy that's great, I hope she oops or he stays relaxed and lethargic (at night anyway) for you forever lol... I can't wait for my scan and it's not till the 18th of April!!!!! And I want to demand a homebirth and watch my midwife flounder around saying 'but you're 18..' ... morningpaper I could have sworn I felt a wriggle in the bath last night, but it must be too early...

I'm 11 weeks, no scan though so could all change.
Apparently due on the 22nd of October.
Scan on the 18th of April - if it's twins you'll be able to hear me from anywhere in the country screaming my head off lol

jolovett · 31/03/2005 09:57

Morningpaper - I am sure I have been feeling movement for about two weeks now, but everyone keeps telling me its too early! It's a strange sensation to describe really - but I'm pretty sure it's the baby moving around. Anybody else experiencing the same thing?

Rudydudy - It's amazing when you have the scan isn't it. My baby had it's bum up in the air towards the screen! Wouldn't move at all, only when prodded (s)he wriggled around in a very annoyed fashion - just like me when I don't want to wake up!

By the way my due date is 8th October.

fastasleep · 31/03/2005 09:58

Oops post crossed lol well done Moomin

Jockey · 31/03/2005 10:17

RudyDudy - I am now on a mission for a huge bar of Dairy Milk - it sounds heavenly (blow the weight gain!). Glad you enjoyed the scan - it's pretty amazing isn't it. I was lost for words at mine - they probably thought what on earth is the matter with her - isn't she pleased?

By the way, my due date is 12 October. Cheers!

mawbroon · 31/03/2005 13:50

Hello. Can you add me to the list please! I am due on 26th October but have my scan in 11 days time so due date might change. The midwife said that average for first babies is 41 and half weeks so perhaps I might go over and be left with nae pals in October!!

I certainly haven't felt any movement yet (only 10 weeks) but my stomach will soon double up as a shelf! It seems to be defying gravity and sticking straight out! I am in baggy clothes until I tell everyone after we get the scan done. not long now....

Nice to see some sunshine here at long last. Even if it is out the office window!

Take care all

Piggiesmum · 31/03/2005 14:40

Hello again ladies.

Congratulations to everyone who had reached the 2nd trimester.

Sorry to hear we have lost a couple of people.

Haven't been on for what feels like ages due to complete exhaustion and staring at computer screens making me feel like my head was about to implode!.

Told our parents a couple of weekends ago and everyone was over the moon. Mum cryed she was so pleased and they are already talking about all the things they're looking forward to doing with the baby.

I'm still feeling completely exhausted, sleeping about 12 hour a night, interupted by never-ending loo trips of course but am eternally grateful not to have any m/s. I'm due on 26th Oct, am 10w1d today so hopefully I'll start to feel human again soon.

Viridian · 31/03/2005 15:41

Hi everyone

Have been lurking for a while but thought I should say 'hello'! It's so reassuring reading everyone's messages. Am 12 wks on Tuesday (when I have a nuchal scan - more of a viability scan really as have had 2 mcs). Petrified but positive..scan at 8 wks was okay.

No spots but am sure I'm getting a beard LOL

bozzy · 31/03/2005 16:39

Hi Everyone, I haven't posted since finding out I was pregnant at 6 weeks after my "implantation" bleeding - all well so far at eleven weeks - scan next Friday 8th so fingers crossed..! Have been so tired (now have toddler to look after this time around) so managing to take a nap at lunchtimes when DS does which means no time for mumsnet!! Hope everyone is well and will let you know how the scan goes...

bonniej · 31/03/2005 17:13

got my scan same day, bozzy. good luck xx

Moomin · 31/03/2005 20:17

hi everyone (and piggiesmum - we're due on the same day!). has anyone got way ahead of themselves like me and been thinking about names already? it was really easy with dd: i suggested the name, dh loved it too and we never considered anything else. we can't agree with this one though. i'm pretty sure i'll get my own way once i've decided as there's another 6 months to wear dh down. he's got such a crap memory though. one name he said he liked a few months back he now says he's not keen on but can't give a good reason why not.
For boys we like either Charlie or Archie
For girls dh loves Matilda, we both like Martha and I like Evie and Freya.

Moomin · 31/03/2005 20:18

btw, dd's name also begins with M so i wasn't sure whether the two M names would sound like a pair of little mice or something!

Elf1981 · 31/03/2005 22:03

Moomin, me and DH have had some names earmarked for ages, long before we got pg!
For a boy, we'd have Lewis Marshall (Lewis is my granddad's middle name, and his grandparents surname, and Marshall was my granddad's surname before he passed away).
Girls is a bit tricker. Currently on Isabella, but we like : Gabriella, Evelyn, Amelia, Abigail, Bethany, Lila-Grace, Lily-Rae, Caitlin, and a load of others!!

Elf1981 · 31/03/2005 22:04

Oh and Pheobe but it's too difficult with our surname.

And Piper. And Naomi. And.... oh I'd be here all night!

SusiS · 01/04/2005 09:00

hello to all the new ones

and am so sorry about the losses we had

we too did think of names already
girl is fairly easy; will settle for the one we chose last time (if ds was a girl ) - which is caitlin!
boys are always so difficult for us.
but we both did like dominic! but so true; still looooong to go

oh, and my due date has changed to the 2nd october

(the earlier the better!!!!)

bonniej · 01/04/2005 09:12

keep posting your name ideas We think we've got ours but not 100 per cent. We'd like Ruby Ann for a girl and George Aaron for a boy but that all might change. I don't think you can help thinking of names, when i saw the positive result I started thinking straight away! Anyway I'm on week 13 and am feeling really great for a change! Sure I felt the little wriggler moving around when I was in bed last night (could have been wind, but like to think it was baby )

jolovett · 01/04/2005 09:21

Hi guys - I had my girls name picked out well before pg as we were ttc 2 years! Still ain't decided on a boy though. For a girl it's definately going to be Jessamy, for a boy we're thing of Kyan.

Got my blood tests next Friday - trying to read through all the leaflets about the different tests - is anyone finding it as confusing as me? Think I'll have most of them done just to be on the safe side - not looking forward to it though, I had having blood taken!

fastasleep · 01/04/2005 09:32

Elf my name's Abigail! Ooh lol... my god I feel awful this morning I've been puking non stop and there's nothing to puke! I keep thinking my stomach's going to come out or something lol... shuudder its awful! Hopefully I can have a day curled up on the sofa watching my DS wreck the place, but he's already moaning at me...ah well... No idea about names yet, will have to look through the dictionaries...

triceratops · 01/04/2005 09:37

My ds has named his new sibling "Flash" if it is a boy and "Twinkle" if it is a girl. We were thinking more along the lines of James or Hannah.
