So sorry woodelf.

Still feeling sick and tired here although I have had a lovely weekend staying with my parents who looked after ds for me and let me stay in bed. I had a lie in which must be the first one in a year.

When are we going to start "blooming"? I look terrible, my face has gone all thin and wrinkly and my hair is falling out. I have lost loads of weight although it is probably all muscle as I haven't moved for a month.

bonniej · 29/03/2005 12:51

anyone else suffering from spots? or is that delight all mine? I don't usually have hardly any but now have loads over my neck, chest and face. Coupled with straggly hair and dry skin i look absolutely terrible. Please tell me it's not just me and that I will look normal again one day

fastasleep · 29/03/2005 12:55

Hey bonnie, I'm spotty too... and during my last preg my hair fell out in clumps the whole time!! I have such lovely greasy hair...such fantastic greasy skin... someone said something about people looking like 'waynetta slob'...that's me! I am her! Lol

bonniej · 29/03/2005 12:57

it's really depressing especially with the sun coming out, I want to look glowing not like this! oh well, second trimester here we come

fastasleep · 29/03/2005 12:58

I bet you'll glow like a 100 watt lightbulb in a few weeks just you wait lol

Tommy · 29/03/2005 13:11

I've got spots too...

RudyDudy · 29/03/2005 13:30

I've got spots too - had to buy some spot gel yesterday

I dream of the glowing skin, strong nails and luscious hair phase...[wistful emoticon]

jolovett · 29/03/2005 13:42

Hi all,
I have just joined the message boards - wish I found this site earlier - it's great to share the experiences we're all going through. I'm due 8th October and can't wait. I was suffering from feeling sick a lot but it has faded over the last week or so and I'm feeling a lot better - I hope everyone else gets through it. I've had two hospital scans, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any 3d/4d scanning places and how much they cost? I'm in South Wales but don't mind travelling a little for it. I think it looks amazing - has anyone had it done and what is it like?
Any advice on this matter would be great.

ButtonMoon · 29/03/2005 17:37

Hello hope your sickness has all but gone, like mine, just lingering now (fingers crossed) .They do 4d scans here and I have heard that they are very good...they are based in Birmingham. My friend paid about £200 and got a dvd of the footage....amazing!!

mawbroon · 29/03/2005 17:47

LOL re the spots. I have none (lucky) but would gladly swap my clear skin for some of the sunshine which bonniej is talking about! It's been pishing with rain here for over a week now and has been making me very miserable - just ask dh!! I think I need to buy some shares in Kleenex. I am hoping it will be better when we go "public" with our news after the scan which is two weeks today. At least people will know that I have a legitimate reason for being a grumpy cow.

Repeat after me : it will be worth it, it will be worth it

Elf1981 · 29/03/2005 18:15

Hi all. Got spots too and have to be really careful with my shampoo to stop me getting greasy hair. Skin is also very shiny and feel like I'm 13 again. Dammit!

Had a bit of bleeding today. It's nothing too heavy, no need for pads & stuff, just freaking the hell out of me and making me scared and miserable. Was at work today for my apprasial which went well. Rang DH afterwards as he was off work, he rang our midwife who was very nice about the fact I'd been bleeding, said it could be something to do with the fact that I have not been very well. Never heard this before but it does make me feel slightly better. She's trying to get my scan date brought forward, which would be a blessing, but will have to see how it all goes.

Anybody else bleeding / had bleeding but is now okay?

triceratops · 30/03/2005 09:46

No bleeding here, thank goodness, I did last time and I cried solidly until they did me a scan and told me he was OK. Don't they realize how stressful the whole thing is? Feel for you elf.

Did anyone see Baliffs the other night? I thought I was safe until they showed this poor poor man breaking down while he told them how awful his life was since he had held his stillborn baby I was in floods.

I bought pickled gherkins and beetroot yesterday at the supermarket and I have just had a beetroot sandwich. I am 12 weeks today and I haven't felt sick yet.

jolovett · 30/03/2005 11:15

Just to let you know - I had some light bleeding around the time my period would have been due for the first two months - nothing this month yet. They did an early scan and everything was fine. They said it is quite common. My sister-in-law is 21 weeks now and she has bled heavy continuously from the beginning due to a heammorage, but her baby is perfectly normal. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about and your baby is doing fine. It's just a scary thing to go through though and I hope anyone going through it is holding up.

morningpaper · 30/03/2005 11:44

Elf this might seem cheeky but what with the bank holiday and everything - were you SHAGGING a lot before the bleed? Only it can bring on a bit of mucousy blood from the cervix - it's nothing to worry about.

I am feeling MUCH better - hardly retching at all. I'm feeling much more myself and the house has returned to it's usual clean and tidy order!

morningpaper · 30/03/2005 11:45

I have awful spots too - real MONSTER ones.

fastasleep · 30/03/2005 11:48

Clean and tidy order??? I don't think that's ever going to happen round here again! I hope everythings ok Elf, I bet it will be! The only bleeding I've had in pregnancy is from the monster poops I hate constipation!

mishmash2 · 30/03/2005 13:39

Do hope you are feeling better Elf - if it's any consolation I have bled for 5 out of the past 6 weeks and finally had my first blood free day yesterday so fingers crossed am now ok. But have had 3 scans and each time saw the heartbeat etc and the bleeding is outside of the sac so am much more relaxed about it now. I was told to worry more if it was red in colour, but if it is brown then fingers crossed all is well.

Had a good squeeze on two spots this w'end..... not nice at all. Unfort my DH has a fetish with them and can't wait for the next one to pop up so he can have a go...! Is this what the next 6 months will be like!

Tombsy · 30/03/2005 14:57

Hi all. Desperate for a bit of reassurance really.

This is my third attempt at baby and so far everything seems fine. 8 week scan showed baby with heartbeat. Fantastic!

I'm just looking for reassuring symptoms now to convince everything is going fine. I'm now 12 weeks and have been doing a LOT of the sickness that generally lasts all day so I'm taking this as a good sign.

At night time my tummy seems to go hard where baby should be. Is this a good sign??? Does anyone know what this is?

bonniej · 30/03/2005 16:42

Tombsy, I always feel more pregnant at night as well, I don't know why but in the evenings I feel more sick and my tummy seems to pop out more and also feels quite hard. I haven't had a scan at all yet, but take this as good signs and you should too I've got my scan due next Friday (8th) think I'll be about 13 weeks by then and am really excited but nervous at the same time. Elf, I'm sure your bleeding is nothing to worry about, I know loads of women that have had a certain degree of bleeding in pg and it's always turned out to be nothing, but you'll feel so much better once you've had your scan. good luck!! I'm also cheering up a bit and feel more motivated to do stuff around the house. Trouble is there's such a back log I haven't quite caught up yet (at least the ironing pile has gone). I'm starting to wake up happier (until I look in the mirror and see the spots that is!)and even mowed the lawn yesterday so hoping the burst of energy the second trimester brings has started.

Elf1981 · 30/03/2005 19:45

Hi all, thanks for all being so positive. Midwife said I wasn't to worry but they seemed unable to move my scan forward at the hospital, which I'm a bit peeved about, but understand that there's obviously a lot of knocked up women where I live!!
No, there'd been no shagging before it started, as I'd only just finished work! DH thinks it's because I was stressed out and rushing about and is very keen on the whole 'put your feet up' attitude.
No sickness now for two days, though sometimes feel like I could be, but it's more like it was in the beginning before I started being sick everyday. Now I just feel like I could retch but if I push past it, I'm okay. Still up loads of times in the night to pee though!
I'm 12 weeks today apparently, but wont know for def until the scan. Roll on April 14th!!

morningpaper · 30/03/2005 20:50

Anyone else felt any movement yet? I've felt a few kicks in the last week - particular after I've had a big glass of orange juice; must be a sugar rush!

madness · 31/03/2005 08:48

well, it looks like I will be leaving this thread as well. Had heavy bleeding and cramping pain for 2 days now. Best of luck to all of you.

Tommy · 31/03/2005 08:56

Really sorry to hear that madness...

Jockey · 31/03/2005 09:10
