sorry about your news elf.... really hope you are ok and taking things easy. from what you have said, im sure everything will be fine. Thinking of you hun xxx

morningpaper · 25/03/2005 11:40

I think I've got some kind of Norwalk virus - been doing the round here. Spent the night vomiting and pooing like you would not believe. All over the bathroom! My arse is bleeding! (TMI!)

So now I'm worried about the effects on the baby - can't go out because it's contagious. Keeping water down ok now. Spending the day in bed - DH has taken dd to my brothers for the day.

jessicasmummy · 25/03/2005 11:42

morning paper - i was the same at the beginning of the week, dh whisked me up to docs, and thats when i heard heartbeat - doc said it was just to reassure me baby was ok. told to drink loads and stay in bed for 48 hours - was lush!

Elf1981 · 25/03/2005 11:47

It's bad enough being poorly anyway, but poorly and pregnant?! I've got a throat infection and a wicked cough, which I can only take lemon and honey for! To make myself heard I'm having to shout as my throat is that bad!
I feel for you morningpaper.

morningpaper · 25/03/2005 13:49

Thanks for messages of sympathy Elf and Jessesmummy!! JM I read back through your post (I thought of it at the time) which was reassuring. I have slept for a few hours and had a cracker and some dilute juice.

Problem is that my pregnancy hip and back problems are worse when I lie down - damn it, DH is never going to let me have another baby after this! Moan moan moan! xxx

Tommy · 25/03/2005 21:20

I'm very of all of you getting early scans - we have to wait until 20 weeks here! I still don't feel pregnant - feeling a little bit queasy but really only when I'm very tired and my jeans are getting a little tight but I'm not sure if that's the baby or all the hot cross buns!

Joseyjo · 25/03/2005 22:24

i had my nt scan yesterday. the nt was fine but the baby's bladder is enlarged. we have to go back in 2 weeks to see if it is better. 90% fix themselves, but 10% require intervention. am scared and worried and don't want to wait two weeks to find out what is happening.
it is also a symptom of chromosome disorders, but is normally found in conjunction with a large nt. don't know what to think.

was so hoping that everything would be ok. now i feel like i can't plan or anything until we go back in 2 weeks. even then if it is bad news (ie bladder still swollen) then they may decide to extract some of the baby's urine (big needle in belly) and then they want to do a placental biopsy so they can do karyotyping to tell whether or not there is a chromosome problem. i really wanted to avoid invasive procedures and now i may not have a choice. if the bladder is still swollen and they don't remove some urine, then it could cause kidney failure.

so many ifs and maybes. i like things black and white and HATE waiting. just keep rubbing my tummy and asking the baby to wee for me. poor thing. they have promised me that the baby can't feel pain/discomfort at the moment, so at least that is something.

anyway, if anyone has anything cheerful to tell me that would really help. sleep time now...

SusiS · 26/03/2005 07:57

oh josey!!! that's always disheartening to get such 'news'! but i am sure everything will be fine - with ds they told me one of his kidneys was enlarged! and they had to monitor it closely! at the next scan 2 weeks later everything was fine - you just keep talking to your lo

Joseyjo · 26/03/2005 10:05

thanks SusiS. i know all the statistics are really positive, but it is really easy to think the worst.

morningpaper · 26/03/2005 10:15

So sorry for your stress JoseyJo - we also had enlarged kidneys and (I think) bladder with our daughter - all the scans were 'bad' news but she was born 100% FINE! This time I'm expecting some incongrous results - it's still stressful though. It's very common though JoseyJo so try to stay positive and keep sending lots of love to your baby. xxx

Elf1981 · 26/03/2005 11:27

Sending you lots of positive vibes Josey.

Woodelf · 26/03/2005 17:33

Hi there. Just checking in to say farewell to the October thread as I am no longer pg. Just got out of hospital after ERPC. I guess I'll be joining the TTC thread as I'm pretty determined to have another go at this pregnancy lark.

Best of luck to all of you [ency], hope to be pg again soon!

Woodelf

morningpaper · 26/03/2005 17:49

Woodelf I'm so sorry, it must be horrendous. I don't know what else to say but lots of love to you. xxx

Tommy · 26/03/2005 18:44

So sorry Woodelf

mawbroon · 26/03/2005 21:23

Woodelf - so sorry to hear this. (((hugs))

morningpaper · 27/03/2005 09:58

Please someone else tell me you are still feeling awful - I am still retching all the time and unable to do basic things like clean up the kitchen or wash up without retching uncontrollably.

I'm in bed by 7pm at the latest every night.

I am now 12+2 or (13+1 according to the scan) - is there no end in sight? I was fine by now with my daughter.

DH is worn out from doing everything and from me not being able to hold a basic conversation without bursting into tears or trying not to vomit on him.

bonniej · 27/03/2005 10:19

oh, i'm so sorry you still feel like this morningpaper. I am grumpy and tired most of the time and still feel slightly nauseous but nowhere near as bad as before and am now not being actually sick anymore. I caused a row with dh last night so I could storm of to bed, and it was only 6.30pm I just want to sleep all the time. I am due about the same time as you. I hope for your sake the sickness passes soon as it really is horrible xx

morningpaper · 27/03/2005 10:29

Thanks Bonnie. Sorry you are feeling so knackered. I must admit that I don't really feel tired - I am getting loads of sleep because I'd rather be asleep than retching, and it gets bad in the evenings, but at night my body slows down so I feel okay if I wake in the night.

I was in bed by 6.45 - so gutted that I couldn't even stay up to watch Dr Who!!!! (Is it being repeated?!)

RudyDudy · 27/03/2005 11:55

Woodelf -so sorry to hear your news.

And sympathy to you morningpaper - I'm a bit like you but am managing to stay up until about 8pm (btw - I think Dr Who is repeated tonight, maybe on BBC2 but it's on one of RTKM's threads or the Dr Who thread). I now have some days where I feel completely fine and if it wasn't for my enormous tummy I would easily forget I was pg and then days when I can't stop retching at the slightest thing - sometimes just opening the fridge door is enough to set me off and yesterday was actually sick for the first time I too was expecting to feel better by now as I think I am about 13 weeks, though have scan on Wed so hopiong for a more accurate date. My DH is also finding it difficult to cope with I think which makes me worry about what it will be like when we have a toddler and a newborn to look after but I am sure we will get there somehow.

Glad to hear others are beginning to feel better. We should all be starting to bloom soon

Joseyjo · 27/03/2005 13:13

morningpaper - thanks for the reassurance. not knowing is the worst thing. i am sure our mum's had it easier, they just had to wait for 9 months and find out when the baby was born. all these tests are sooo stressful.

no i don't mean that. i want to have the tests, but it is no fun getting potentially bad news.

am feeling much better (sorry....) but if it is any consolation, in my last pregnancy i was not sick but just knocked out with tiredness... that did not pass until week 16!! lets hope you recover before that.

have also been reading a thread on 3d/4d scans (best done at about 28 weeks) and it sound fascinating - expensive, but brill. if anyone is interested then it is under pregnancy (sorry can't do links)

so sorry to hear your news woodelf and sorry if this is an insensitive question, but what is ERPC?

Elf1981 · 28/03/2005 11:53

Hi all.
My baby does not like food!
Went to mum & dad's yesterday for Easter Sunday dinner, had turkey and veg and roast potatoes. I managed on carrot, one piece of broccoli, a tiny piece of turkey and two tiny sausages wrapped in bacon before I rushed off to be sick. I couldn't go back down until all the food had been cleared away. Later managed some finess cereal, which tastes like carboard IMO, and had a small piece of chocolate. Tea was a bag of hula hoops and four small pieces of chocolate.
TBH think it was more to do with a bug I'd picked up, as never had morning sickness like this before - usually its as soon as I get up, but after an hour I'm fine to eat things through the day, but only stuff I really feel like. Feeling slightly better today. Still got a cough, and a blocked up nose. Hope it all clears up today.
DH sat last night talking to the baby as I watched telly, saying "don't make mummy sick anymore, she doesn't like it and it isn't fair!".
Got the date of my scan through for the 14th April. Seems like an age to wait when all you're doing is hoping that somebody will tell you everything is okay.

Moomin · 28/03/2005 12:38

so sorry to hear your news woodelf, must be awful for you. can't imagine xxxx

if it's any consolation, morningpaper, i'm still feeling crap, although a little better than last week when i was actually hospitalised and put onto a drip! since then though i've felt a bit better and much more like my last pg now, i.e. can't walk past fridge/bin/sink/hot food shops without retching but am keeping most of it down and if i don't actually have to think about it too much i can eat a lot more now. mornings and evenings are still my worst time but afternoons are improving. i actually think i had a bug on top of this last week and that's what tipped me over the edge as far as the dehydration goes.

also haven't put any more weight back on yet (have lost 8lbs so far!) but waistline is very tight on trousers. however, put my knee length boots on yesterday and the zip flew up instead of having to struggle past my sausages, so at this rate i'm going to look like a barrel on stilts.

scan on the 7th and then nuchal on the 15th.

Jockey · 29/03/2005 08:28

So sorry to hear your news Woodelf .

Think I am 12 weeks tomorrow but still not feeling great. Thought I was getting better but had to get out of bed last night to be sick! We haven't had much of an Easter as those around me are dropping like flies with various bugs leaving muggins here to run the show! Mornings and evenings definitely the worst for me too.

We did have a lovely afernoon playing in the sun yesterday though - it really lifts the mood.

Hope everyone starts feeling better soon.

hamster · 29/03/2005 08:55

Hello. Cheer up peeps! Just reading through the last few messages-glad I'm not alone with the sick feelings. I haven't actually been sick yet, just walk around with a constant feeling of wanting to be sick and retching at the slightest odd smell!
My situation isn't helped by the fact that ds is teething at the moment and that we both have terrible colds. Both in bed by 7/8pm every night-poor lonely dh2b-eh?!
I think I'm only about 9 1/2 weeks...so still early days...hope I stop feeling rough soon though!

fastasleep · 29/03/2005 09:02

Hey haven't been around for ages! Oh woodelf how awful best of luck with the TTC...

Josey my son had enlarged kidneys and they wanted to do amnios and this and that, it just makes it doubley stressful doesn't it - my DS's kidneys stayed enlarged and they finally induced him at 38 weeks....they still have no idea why they were both swollen, but he had an operation and he seems to be ok... 'enlarged' things happen all the time, usually they dissappear - sending good luck vibes!

I'm still feeling viiiiiile lol keeping a bit more down than I was by carefully timing all my meals around when I feel worse but retching constantly still...

Hope you're all doing well
