ooh - M2Becks - share some of your other name thoughts!
Hana - we did get a lot of tummy to mummy and all that. I'm sure I'll work it out eventually! I had a dream that the baby would only feed off one side, and not the other? Odd....
Hana and Obs - I am also a big, big dress fan. Makes getting dressed so easy. I have loads of them. So it's going to be tricky with breast-feeding. This is somehting the NCT lady talked about last night - the need for "seperates". Boo. I. WANT. TO. WEAR. MY. DRESSES!!!!

Oblomov · 09/10/2008 11:34

Lucy

Hannah Amelia is nice.

Hannah Ava is nice.

Hannah Eve

MonkeyMargot · 09/10/2008 11:35

oops - crosspost again.
M2Becks Am also loving Elise. In fact, I think one of the londonladies is calling her DD that! I won't say which one .
obs Hannah Elise has a definite ring to it. Good one!

Betti · 09/10/2008 11:38

mum2becks - how about Hannah Elizabeth, Hannah Louise,...

Oblomov · 09/10/2008 11:42

Elise was MINE.
I said it first.
Tantrum tantrum.
Yeah right. Before I found out I was having a BOY.

Come on then London ladies. SPILL.
Who has stolen my name

Oblomov · 09/10/2008 11:43

Trying to think of short names to go with Hannah. Sorry. Think I am all named out.

sparkletoes · 09/10/2008 11:56

Don't worry Obs I am not the Londonlady but can't use Elise other than as a middle name owing to awkward surname (which has ruled out most of my favs this time around)!

MonkeyM I didn't go to any of the BF classes, am all for being informed but TBH all the advice seemed to complicate matters too much for me! It really wasn't that difficult so don't worry. The help you get when baby is actually here will be more valuable IMO.

cricri · 09/10/2008 11:59

OK, OK I own up, I'm planning to name my daughter Elise Obs We had a discussion ages ago about it IIRC. DH and I have had the name in mind for well over a year now but are quite happy to share

sparkletoes · 09/10/2008 12:02

And I don't know sex so for all I know could also be having another boy!

P.S Does Neil sound too boring to go with DS who is Jake. Had considered Niall instead but DH hates and I would prob get too p'd off with people spelling/pronouncing it wrong!

Oblomov · 09/10/2008 12:03

Thats O.k. Cricri.
I will let you off.
Really, I am actually really pleased that one of us has chosen it.

sparkletoes · 09/10/2008 12:04

Oh Cricri I am soo glad someone will be using that name as I have also loved it for ages!

Oblomov · 09/10/2008 12:08

Me too. I have loved it for a long time. Prob not as long as a year. Because I only heard about it on Mn. But I totally love it.
And am VERY glad for cricri and her dh.
As you know, seeing as I will never have a girl,I will never get the chance to use it. But that is o.k. It is my choice.
And that is cool.

cricri · 09/10/2008 12:15

Thanks ladies, you're so sweet .
All the other names you've mentioned are lovely as well. I like Neil Sparkeltoes

mum2becks · 09/10/2008 12:19

Wow only went away to hang out the washing and came back to loads of suggestions

Do like all the names suggested, cant use a couple of them as already names of nieces etc but will be running them past DH later!

Realy like Elise so a good choice by a couple of you, not a name I had actually thought of before! also like the name Lucy but have already called our dog that so thats out!!

Any more suggestions welcome and thanks this is a lot less painful than the names threads

MonkeyMargot · 09/10/2008 12:20

CriCri gets the seal of approval! It is a cracker of a name. I will be seeing my Auntie Elise this saturday at a family wedding. She rocks. I am hoping she will mediate between MIL and DH who haven't spoken for a month....

ruthosaurus · 09/10/2008 12:28

Wow, Betti, I've just snooped on your name thread - what a bunch of sarky-pantses? Some people just have no manners. I think we're much better on names over here.

I am however crap at names as I can't hink of girl names at all. It took us ages to agree on Phoebe - DH wouldn't let me have Tallulah, Serafine or Maia as he said they failed the "playground call" test. I'm still gutted about Tallulah. I wouldn't let him have Charlie as I said eh was copping out by only having to come up with 1 name.

Hannah Charlotte? Hmm.

I like Neil, there's a really lovely bloke at work called Neil so it has good vibes.

I am now getting so hungry the only word I can think of is "cake" and that's not even a name, sorry.

Monkey is there an option on wrap or cross-over front dresses that you can (ahem) pop a boob out of? Lord knows it has happened to me on an accidental basis before in a wrap dress so intentionally doing it for bfing might work. Not being sarky, just thinking out loud in an addled sort of way... Jojomamanbebe had some nice-looking maternity ones that might do for nursing (I am gloomily predicting that people will still think I am pg when the child is 4 so will be in maternity clothes for ever - mm, comfy).

Oblomov · 09/10/2008 12:42

Wrap dresses. Yes thats what I was thinking. I have quite a few. I just need a top, like a vest top, to go underneath. Something that you can clip open maybe. To allow access fro bf.

Ladies inbetween scrabble and names. I have done you proud. Hoovering whole house. All ironing. Bleached sinks. Enough.

Elise is a beautiful name, it was in my top 5 when DS was born.
I like all of the suggestions too, I think we are fairly much decided either way now!
DS has been a nightmare this morning, he pulled the TV off the stand - AND the top of the stand, I have no idea how but it fell onto him - I honstly didn't think I could move so fast this size . He is perfectly fine but I shouted at him because I was so terrified and he has been a little sod ever since, he is now in bed so I might nail his door shut before he wakes up .
I remember just after he was born and I finally felt ready to try trousers over my CS scar - went for a pair of eans that I had worn up until around 16 wks pg and could only pull them up as far as my knees I was mortified, I'm not even going to bother trying this time, I'm already struggling in my mat pants because my arse and thighs are so very very fat!

sparkletoes · 09/10/2008 13:01

Most of the Neils I have known have been really nice guys too so that kinda swayed me towards liking it too! It also goes well with pesky surname. Opted for Jake for DS tho as it just seemed a bit 'cooler' and made think of that lovely actor with the unpronounceable surname!

But now that has been passed over once I feel a but about using it!!

Sorry didn't mean to interupt thread when we are discussing suggestions for Mum2!!

Dozymare · 09/10/2008 13:02

ruthosarus guess what my daughter is going to be called??!!!! we were always going for Layla but have now decided (or rather I have as DH knows better than to argue with me on this one after naming our 2 boys) Middle name will be Grace Skye. My DH is Scottish and we have used Macloed (pronounced Mac Cloud) for the boys and tghey come from ther isle of Skyw - i thought it was a nice way to link all 3 kids together!

Sooooo I have a Mony Beau (the missing letter is t) and a Maxius William....ohhh cryptic clue but don't want to "out" myself yet again .......

I think that HANNAH ELISE is beautiful........

Just taken my name on scrabble btw.......

W e all have some lovely names going on!!

Dozymare · 09/10/2008 13:11

OMG Betti just seen your name thread and your DS has the same name as my DS2!!!!!!!!

ruthosaurus · 09/10/2008 13:13

Ladybuzz - I cried in the changing rooms at H&M trying on trousers with increasingly huge size numbers until I found my big fat cords (they are so much comfier than the jeans I tried on). It's that moment when you get them stuck halfway up, isn't it?

On the other hand, my pre-maternity jeans were all in dire need of replacement so when I do finally get back down to a respectable bum size I have an excuse to go shopping. I have saved all my birthday money and xmas money and am going to spend it on glamorous post-maternity clothing and a Poang chair from Ikea - yay treating myself!

Obs, where does one get nice wrap dresses from? Apart from Diane von Furstenwhatsherface - I am not going to treat myself that much.

MonkeyMargot · 09/10/2008 13:22

Rutho - Good tip on the wrap dress thing. Hadn't considered that. I do have 2 x DVF wrap dresses (purchased half-price in sale) and they are absolutely brill. I wear them summer /winter, ovee jeans/tights/leggings. I have been wearing them throughout this pregnancy (But with a vest underneath) as obviously boobs etc larger than normal! I would consider the investment, if you can pick one up half-price in xmas sales (from net-a-porter, mywardrobe.com).
Alternatively, Boden do a good alternative.
