Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

All those baby clothes sound georgous! I have to get all of dd's clothes down from the loft soon to sort them out. Luckily all my newborn stuff is neural colours so if i have a boy i can use them and just get rid of dd's pink stuff.

booksgalore, i think i would be better off talking to someone rather than have medication. I have wanted theropy for ages but it sounds expensive.

My piles really hurt today

tinkisgoingtohaveagirl · 08/10/2008 20:49

poor u miss s have u tried anusol

missjackson · 08/10/2008 21:48

MsSparkle you could talk to your obstretician at the hospital - I don't know what your hospital is like but they should offer counselling/ therapy surely? You mustn't be palmed off with medication if you feel you would rather talk to someone - the best results for depression are actually achieved with medication coupled with therapy anyway.

Envy at all you who know what you are having and can buy stuff -- I have 6 weeks left of work, and then I can start thinking about having a baby!

fymandbean · 09/10/2008 07:19

ms Sparkle i second what booksgalore says, as i'm afraid to say, they do love fobbing people off Stand your ground & get some help!

FYM.... Silly MIL. Your baby boy will be gorgeous and amazing...

Off home to see my parents tonight as OH is away tomorrow & Saturday. havent seen them for a while. my mother & i are going to baby & Xmas shop tomorrow which should be fun.

Its dawned on me over the last few days, whilst i am not at normal pre preg energy levels, i'm doing better at the moment. Can get past 8pm without needing bed :-) I think i should be making use of this really, as i'm sure to come crashing down exhusted again REAL soon!

My ezcema is Raging on my arms. havent had Ezcema since i was about 13 yrs old. not pleased to see it return. Lets hope it goes come jan.

Hope all OK & niggles not too bad!

MsSparkle · 09/10/2008 11:37

fymandbean how awful that your mil said that! Mils are such a pain sometimes and can be really insensitive.

BooksGalore, i spoke to my midwife at the end of August and said how i was feeling. She said lets see how i was feeling by our next appointment which was last Wednesday Oct 1st. I said i was still feeling low and she was really nice and sympathetic and has told me to make an appointment with my doctor. So i have an appointment with the doctor next Tuesday so i guess i will have to see what happens then.

I went to doctors this morning because i was kept awake last night with a throbbing pile It is so painful and the doctor gave me some local annesetic (sp?) cream so hopefully that will sort it out. It's not fun when you have that and a toddler to look after. Luckily dd's grandparents are having her this afternoon so i can rest. Hurrah!

tinkisgoingtohaveagirl · 09/10/2008 11:41

hi

glad that you got cream ms sparkle and that you have got an drs appointment

MsSparkle - No drugs here either for my AND so second everything books says - my GP fortunately is fab and referred me, she also called the unit and explained I was pg and needed to see someone immediately, hopefully yours will do the same. It was a very good experience when I was referred. And there was no cost for initial course of therapy inc CBT and counselling (on NHS), but after that I was offered either ongoing group sessions or to be referred on to a private practitioner if I wanted but I didn't feel I needed to. They gave me all of their contact details too so that I can call if ever need to see someone again without having to be referred again.

SPD here confirmed - bit better the last few days, waiting for support belt and physio appt now.

moosemama · 09/10/2008 14:22

MsSparkle, glad you have an appointment booked, I was referred via my GP and got therapy on the NHS. It was the best thing that ever happened to me and helped me sort out a lot of worries and 'baggage'.

FYM little boys are such fun, I have a ball with both of mine! Like some of the others have said, its your MIL's loss. My MIL made similar noises when I was expecting DS2 but she was all over him as soon as he was born! All babies are gorgeous and your own baby is always the most gorgeous of all, of course!

I'm feeling really ridiculously tired at the moment. It says in the books that the baby is growing rapidly at this stage so maybe that explains it, but I have so much to get done, I could really do without it at the moment.

Periwink · 09/10/2008 16:41

Moosemama - I feel feeling uterrly exhausted and I think the tiredness is returning just in time for my laststage of pregnancy - now 28 weeks and seriously having trouble staying awake past lunch time.....

Sorry to hear about everyone's ailments - hope they clear up soon aso you can enjoy the rest ofyour pregnancy.

Too tired to look at baby clothes on the web - wow i must be tired!

stripeywoollenhat · 09/10/2008 16:51

hi everyone

fym at your mil! the things that people think it's okay to say out loud! your little boy will be fabulous and you know she will deny that she ever said any such thing two minutes after seeing him....

i am just back from the chemists with a big box of spatone - turns out my iron levels are stupidly low which might explain the faintness, i guess. have to go for a rerun of the bloods in a couple of weeks, to check my white blood count (marginally high) and also something with my liver, as well as the iron level. much spinach for me, i guess... the lack of iron doesn't seem to be affecting titch's energy levels, mind - she is gallumphing about my innards like a tiny herd of elephants...

tinkisgoingtohaveagirl · 09/10/2008 17:56

poor u lennied hope it isnt 2 uncomfortable
stripey hope that tablets help
periwink sorry for tiredness think it is starting to affect me now i am 26 weeks today last week of 2nd trimester already

stripeywoollenhat · 10/10/2008 10:21

morning everybody. recovering on the couch after panicked trip to hospital last night to make sure small bit of bleeding was nothing to worry about. thankfully, all seems well, but it was a thoroughly unpleasant evening and i am absolutely wrecked today. on the bright side, the small one is absolutely fine, they did a trace and the consultant was terribly impressed by how strong and active she is for 26 weeks. i feel bizarrely proud.

hope everybody else is doing fine today.

tinkisgoingtohaveagirl · 10/10/2008 12:49

LoveActually · 11/10/2008 15:52

I probably should have joined this discussion aaages ago, but here I am, 27 weeks today and wondering how much more my belly will stretch.
My pg has been fairly un-eventful (so far) with the exception of some very painful stretchy pains a couple of weeks back.
I've all but given up the gym, and trying to love the veins that have appeared on my legs. Aside from the heartburn and indigestion am quite enjoying being pregnant! Am relishing all the attention as let's face it, come 11 Jan (my bub's due date) things will be very different.
I don't know if any of you Jan mums-to-be are having to re-write the rules as far as who is going to stay at home and look after the baby. My OH's business hasn't been going too well and he's going to re-train as a teacher.
I'm self employed and love my job, want to take six months off but my clients might not let me, they're trying to book me in for March. OH may have to put off his plans but I think he's coming round to the idea of staying at home.

MissHairspray · 12/10/2008 09:42

Morning ladies, i've been away for a couple of weeks doing a mammoth house move from London back up north, so just catching up with everything.stripey sorry to hear about your scare but glad everything is fine.
There seems to have been some serious shopping going on. We are the same, what we really need to do is but practical things like breastpump and baby bath but we keep buying lovely cute outfits instead. We have got the nursery pretty much sorted though and it looks lovely - went a bit mad a mammas and pappas and got most of the hodge podge range but it is sooo cute.
I'm 27 weeks now and still feeling pretty OK apart from the fact my bump is really huge and getting in the way of everything. Tried to bend down to put my shoes on yesterday and it was a no go - its a bit weird having to lean sideways all the time. Even some of my maternity clothes are getting a bit tight/short so might have to go any buy some of those huge shapeless things I swore I would never wear!
Have a good weekend you lot xx
