Hi there Ellora, welcome and congratulations!

75 March mummies - W O W

Well the summer weather was crap so not much else to do really, huh?

xx

LaMonsterWeaselwolf · 10/10/2008 11:59

twas wasn't it - don't think there'll be many June 09 mummies, this sunshine is glorious!

Mandy73 · 10/10/2008 12:00

PS: Had full amnio analysis back today and it's good news, no major chromosome abnormalities detected. Now we just wait for the anomaly scan at 20 w and additional growth & doppler scan at 24 w. But we're over another hurdle and 17 weeks tomorrow, yay!

lizziemun · 10/10/2008 12:36

Glad your results come clear Mandy.

It funny because dh birthday is in July and it allways rains my birthday in Oct and it allways Sunny and warm.

babyinbelly · 10/10/2008 13:07

babyinbelly · 10/10/2008 13:09

twocutedarlings · 10/10/2008 14:44

Hi All

Not been around for weeks!!.....sorry

Well i had my 20 week scan on wednesday and all it well, no sign of my previous bleed, which was reasuring!!

The LO wouldnt play ball and lay in a good position for the scan women thingy job to take a good look at the heart so we went for a walk round and went back in 20 mins later, when all of a sudden the little mite decided to display its genitals .

And the baby is a......................

Boy

emma2617 · 10/10/2008 15:02

Wow twocute our first baby of known gender!!! How exciting for you...the unknown of a boy after youd got used to 2 little girls!!!

Im all excited now!!!

xJulesx · 10/10/2008 16:41

Congratulations twocute.

Hi ladies, Hope every one is well.
I had an appointment with MW today and heard heartbeat for the first time, I haven't stopped smiling all day.........
I am so happy

emma2617 · 10/10/2008 16:48

xjulesx hearing heat beat for the first time is fab isnt it!!

Hope everyone is doing well and has a good weekend!

I think I am going to try and take it easy as I can feel a cold coming on...and dont want to run the risk of getting a full blown chest infection...which with my asthma, is the usual result!!!

emma2617 · 10/10/2008 16:49

heat beat?! what planet am I on?! Obviously I meant heart beat!!!

meep · 10/10/2008 19:25

more good news for you all - got my rapid test results and my baby does not have Downs or Edwards or Patous. I am so relieved (Downs was the high risk marker that we got).

I am so so happy. Like mandy I still have to wait for the full test but I am now just going to stop worrying and start enjoying being pregnant. WHOO HOO!!!

And a big hooray for mandy too - our cyber hand holding obviously did the trick!

And a little boy for twocute - that is great news - you'll need to learn a whole different way of changing nappies!

LaMonsterWeaselwolf · 10/10/2008 19:26

YAY!!! Lots of good news!!

Very excited for both twocute and meep.

Wheelybug · 10/10/2008 19:31

Oh meep that's fantastic news. Hope all goes worry-free from now on.

Great news too mandy.

Congrats on the boy 2cute - Have you told your DD' ??

Waves at everyone else - esp. hello to Ellora !

Am just off out on a girl's night (yikes - a very rare occurence) as one of my bf is home from new zealand. Was a trial finding something to wear though !!! Am sure I will be asleep in my dinner by about 10 though.... Have a full weekend planned with the girls too so will be great but tiring!

Have a great w/e everyone.

emma2617 · 10/10/2008 19:45

So happy for you meep hope you enjoy enjoying being pregnant!! I still haven't started enjoying it yet!

Hi ladies, it is ages since I have posted but I try to keep up to date with everyones news on a regular basis.

I have come on for a bit of a rant, after reading about everyone's great MW apps, hearing heartbeats etc....

My app (the 2nd one I have had) was on Tuesday this week - I was at 19 weeks exactly - first my MW complained about me being late when in fact I was 15 mins early and had been sat in the waiting room for 40 mins when I was called in, she then asked for my wee sample - which I didn't have as noone had told me to take one in - when I offered to produce one for her there (in the loo obviously!) she told me not to bother. I then asked if we would listen to the baby's heartbeat and was told that it was too early to hear anything - she said it had to be at least 24 weeks before you can guarantee hearing anything! I told her that this surprised me as I knew of many ladies who had listened to it at the 2nd appointment and she looked at me like I was a piece of dirt on her shoe.
The only thing she did was take my blood pressure (and ask me if I had had a stressful day....a stressful appt more like..grr).
Does this sound negligant to anyone (or could it just be diff rules for diff areas?) I was the last appt of the day.

Anyway, rant over, I am looking forward to my 20 week scan on Monday - still not decided whether we are going to find out the flavour - am planning to let DH decide.. x

EllieorOllie · 10/10/2008 21:40

meep, that's fabulous, i'm so pleased for you. hope you can chill out and enjoy your pregnancy now.

goldmother2b - apparently they have different ways of doing things in different areas, and it's no longer routine to listen to the heartbeat, but my 16 week appointment was really thorough. She did the urine test, blood pressure, felt my abdomen, listened to the hearbeat and talked me through all my previous test results. It was lovely, to be honest! I reckon your one was in a narky mood. I guess noone's perfect, but it can't be nice to be on the receiving end of it...

i had a very wierd experience today. i had a consultant appt as i had severe postnatal depression with my last baby so they consider me high risk. anyway, totally out of the blue, they offered me a c-section so that 'i could feel more in control of my birth experience'. it hadn't even entered my head really, and now i'm really confused. i guess it's some time before i need to decide anything though.

Boobz · 11/10/2008 10:12

Hi Goldmother -- I'm sorry you had a rubbish appointment. Sometimes I do wonder why these people get into this line of work when they so obviously seem to resent doing it. It's complete crap that you can't hear the heartbeat until 24 weeks and if my MW had told me that I would have asked why she was lying to me?

Gotto run - dog walking duties...

LaMonsterWeaselwolf · 11/10/2008 10:45

I heard the heartbeat at 15 weeks - it was at an emergency app though, and they did say if we couldn't hear it it might just be that the baby was too low down, so they'd do a scan to double check.

But not until 24 wks sounds like 'I am going to fobb you off now' speak to me.

Can you arrange to see a different midwife next time?

Slickbird · 11/10/2008 11:10

Yayyyyyyy Meep! Am so please to hear you got great news. What a relief for you! For the last four or five posts I have had to stop myself from saying, 'I've got a really good feeling that you're going to be fine and get a good result' - One side of me wanted to give you positive vibes, but then if there was a problem, I thought it would be awful that I'd said that. I'm just SO glad it has gone the good way for you!

So much good news - and a boy for TWOCUTE - How lovely!

Gold That sounds an awful experience you had with that m/w - I would ask to see someone else - she should be checking your urine for protein and what a load of crap about not hearing the heartbeat at that stage. I'd ask for another appt and another M/W.

My ranting hormones have well and truely kicked in and I am at the 'I'm-not-prepared-to-take-any-shit-from-anyone' stage which I'm actually finding quite liberating as I tend to avoid confrontation if I can help it and am more prone to biting my tongue. (Apart from with DH of course!

I am going to book at 21 week scan - but as I said before I'll have to pay as we are one of the last regions to not get that scan. We want to find out the sex this time as it's our 3rd and we need to plan a bit. I had a dream last night that I went for the scan and forgot to find out the sex and it was too late! Will make sure that doesn't happen!

I am also suffering on and off with the SPD - it has kicked in but Thursday was really bad and had to take paracetamol. Must be what it's like to need a hip replacement!

WEll I am 20 weeks today - officially half way there! Hope everyone's doing well and glad it's Saturday! Hurray!

P.S. - I wonder how many explanation marks I can put in one post? (!)
