littlesez · 29/09/2008 21:52

Yes mrsy i have had the same thing the past couple of days! kind of like when your nervous or exited about something and your stomach turns. Wasnt sure whether it was just excitement or nerves or baby moving! had my scan today and she was moving about all over the place, couldnt get a good look she was wrigggling and somersaulting around, got a little gymnast!

idontbelieveit · 30/09/2008 07:38

Morning all,
mrsy and littlesez sounds like movement to me.

Still no blood results, bah....

dd been up since 5am, am wondering if i can get her to go back to bed so i can get more sleep.
have a good day everyone.

MarkStretch · 30/09/2008 07:55

IDBI- how frustrating! Can you make some hysterical phonecalls? I can't believe they are making you wait so long for such important results. I feel for you, the waiting must be awful

Morning all!

TBM - so sorry to hear that Tink is so unwell. Hope that she is on the mend and that you and TBD are ok and looking after yourselves too. Belated birthday wishes for Lily-Hope.

Have been mad busy the last few days and had first day back at uni yesterday. Was knackered by 6pm - really could have fallen asleep on the train home. Told all my lecturers about the pg and they were really supportive, so not too stressed about coursework now (ask me again in a couple of months). Have been getting really muffled movement really high up - prob means anterior placenta is quite low lying. Was strange to be sat in lectures and feel the baby pootling about. Nice though .

Have got a shedload of work to do now and have to spend the day with the PILS on Thursday. MIL lovely but FIL drives me mad. He just encroaches a wee bit too much into my personal space IYKWIM. Have threatened to shoot dh if he turns into his dad as he ages. Have agreed he can return the favour if I end up like my mum . I love her to bits and she really is a great mum, bit she can be a bit of a bugger for other people (i.e. anyone except her daughters & grandchildren, who she would lay her life down for) to get on with sometimes.

QK - had visitors virtually non-stop when we had ds. In fact, we had people waiting on the doorstep as we arrived home (two days after crash cs - cheeky buggers). Will def not be having that this time round, though PILs may have to stay overnight at some point (such a long drive from Manchester to the Wirral ). Do whatever you feel is right for you and stick to your guns. You have got plenty of time to work on your soon to be dh so that he sees your POV.

Good luck to all who have scans this week . Still two weeks to wait for mine .

And to end on a high point, ds has been totally dry & clean for two days (including a day at nursery). He sits on the loo shouting "I'm a superstar!" while he pees or poos

dinkystinky · 30/09/2008 08:46

IDBI - hopefully the blood results will arrive today. Will keep my fingers crossed for you and the little one.

The tea tree oil worked an absolute treat - no itching any more, yay! and didnt even have much stinging to contend with. Spoke to my dad (a GP) last night who said exactly the same thing as Swampster re Canesten (of the cream or pessary variety) being fine in pregnancy.

Markstretch - I think squiglet is doing somersaults inside me at the moment as go through phases of feeling kicks really low down in bump then all of a sudden will feel something off to the middle left hand side of the bump. Am with you Pluto on the nighttime acrobatics - always starts up as soon as I go to bed (no matter what time that is!).

WMMC - congrats on the potty training! We're aiming to start with DS at some point in the next month or so (when we have a couple of weekends in a row at home for once) - hope he takes to it as well as your DS has!

MarkStretch · 30/09/2008 09:01

I am working from home all day today. I have lots of work to do.

I am resisting the temptation to just go and make a casserole.

If you see me on here, SHOUT AT ME!

swampster · 30/09/2008 10:14

Come back, MarkStretch!!! Cheeky swampy? Was that the letter game? I almost spelt your name but someone kept nicking my 't's.

Thinking of you and your agonising wait, IDBI.

DS, I LOVE it that you have a GP dad but you're asking for medical advice from a group of random trolls imaginary friends very knowledgeable women on the web!

dinkystinky · 30/09/2008 11:12

Swampster - dont generally tend to ask my GP dad for advice as he generally goes OTT on the advice (for example, if DS has a temperature, you need to look out for these symptoms for meningitis, etc.) and then tends to worry for ages about everything and keep calling back to give more advice (all v lovely but feel bad for worrying him). Just checked with him on the Canesten point (as figured that was a safe one word answer). Fully expecting him to call back today with yet other things that can be safely used in pregnancy....

mslucy · 30/09/2008 12:06

he can be the dr hilary jones of mumsnet

PinkTulips · 30/09/2008 12:26

isn't there some saying about children of doctors being 'sick' tonnes more than other kids as docs see the worst in everything?

MS.... never mind low down, baby managed to kcik me in the ahem... 'back passage' the other night. i almost puked it felt so revolting. hating this anterior placenta as it's making me a nervouse wreck about bumps in the tummy. ds is rather over enthusuastic when he's cuddling the baby sometimes and i hate getting cross at him about it but i'm terrified he'll do damage.

hope tink is on the mend today.

idontbelieveit, i second the hysterical phone call idea.... works wonders with these people. good luck will have my fingers and toes crossed for your baby.

MarkStretch · 30/09/2008 12:28

LUNCH BREAK

Although, I had planned a nice sandwich for my lunch, then got hungry and so scoffed out of the fridge and now I don't want my sandwich. Have done quite a bit of work though.

I am NOT watchig those stupid bastards on Loose Women though. I hate them.

MarkStretch · 30/09/2008 12:45

I am eating a fart egg sandwich. Yum.

Calico1 · 30/09/2008 13:14

Hi all

Have been away for a couple of weeks - can't believe how much chatter I've missed and I've only manage to scan back a few pages.

TBM - hope Tink is well again and back at home.

I'm also supposed to be working - but working from home today hence not actually achieving anything productive except bidding on maternity clothes on Ebay.

QK - I agree with you about the visitors, or only let them in if they agree to cook / clean / generally be your slave. I had elderly PILs stay within a week of coming out of hospital with DS plus I'd had surgery on my back too but I still ending up cooking for everyone whilst they sat around cuddling the baby!! Not this time, that's for sure

mrsy · 30/09/2008 13:23

mmm - egg sandwich.

I'm having - tuna pasta salad, plus I found a few scotch eggs in the fridge i forgot i had, and a yummy tart aux poivre that i got last night! scrummy!

How's everyone?

MarkStretch · 30/09/2008 13:29

I am full of egg sandwich.

I can't believe how much this baby is wiggling. It's been all day!

OP posts:
Calico1 · 30/09/2008 13:34

Not had so much as a squirm from this baby.....perhaps an egg sandwich might help.....

dinkystinky · 30/09/2008 13:37

You obviously have a zen baby Calico!

PinkTulips · 30/09/2008 13:38

I WANT TO GO TO BED!!!!

SOB!!!!

my back hurts and i'm cranky and the children want things from me and it's really annoying

ok, got it out of my system, i'm good

McDreamy · 30/09/2008 13:42

Hello everyone! Got rampant indigestion today!

Have spent the day trying to sort the move, send the cat, ship the cars home etc etc!!! I want to come home!!

Hope everyone is ok, 20 week scan on Monday - I'm very excited! DH bringing a sonacaid home from work today as I am going into school tomorrow to let the children listen to the baby's heartbeat

dinkystinky · 30/09/2008 13:46

Pinktulips - still traumatised from the time when I was ill when I woke up to find dad hovering over me with a needle about to take blood! Definitely downsides to being a dr's daughter. And my mum works in GU Medicine - dinner table conversations about what she got up to at work today almost (but not quite) put me off sex for life

Calico1 · 30/09/2008 14:08

Hmmm Zen baby or not I'd like the reassurance of a little kick or nudge. Last week at MW appointment she could 'hear' lots of movement going on in there but I couldn't feel a thing.

McDreamy · 30/09/2008 14:10

How many weeks are you now Calico?

Calico1 · 30/09/2008 14:15

19 weeks - so still plenty of time to before I get too worried about not feeling anything. I bet at next week's scan it'll be doing somersaults.

thehouseofmirth · 30/09/2008 14:37

Does anyone else expecting DC2 feel like they haven't got time to be pregnant? When I was expecting DS all I did all day was read and think about babies to the point of obsession. This time round I've just got so much to do I barely think about it and after three years of being a SAHM (and now I'm doing a small amount of freelance paid work from home too)I've just totally got out of the habit of focussing on me at all and I feel guilty that I'm neglecting the new one (kept forgetting to take folic acid etc) and sad that I'm not able to enjoy this pregnancy the way I did the first time. Am I alone in feeling like this?
