Congrats on your bump McDreamy - give you 2 weeks until you start complaining how huge you look now...

Questionkid - ignore evil director lady at work! Or next time she says it is pathetic, burst into a flood of tears and run away - bet she'll feel awful and tread alot more carefully around you (after all, what she's doing amounts to little more than bullying which could get HER fired).

Questionkid · 26/09/2008 11:06

Ooooh, crying in her face, never thought of that one! Imagine how embarrassed she'd be?! Oh it'd be fab. I'm off to practice turning on the waterworks at will - shouldn't be hard with all the pregnancy hormones I've got raging around.

MarkStretch · 26/09/2008 11:26

Is it just me, or is MS writing in invisible ink?

MarkStretch · 26/09/2008 12:06

Sorry, for a moment MN broke and I lost all my 'Threads I'm On' so I wanted to come back and mark this one- I can't lose you guys!

Anyway, so now I'm here, I'll talk about poo some more.

When I was in the hospital on Tuesday the nice lady Dr told that Pear juice is good for constipation. She is a GENIUS. I feel relieved.

seems to be a quiet day here today - phew!! Just had to cancel my appt with the physio this afternoon as got called by the nursery to take DS home as he has an upset tummy yet again - he asleep in his cot at the mo, so hopefully i can get some work done as I have brought lots home that I had promoised people i would do, so hopefully he will sleep for while.

but i just want to sit in the garden with a book and a pims

thehouseofmirth · 26/09/2008 13:44

OOh Pimm's. That would be almost as good as a nice glass of sweet sherry...

KazzaL · 26/09/2008 13:47

i did find earlier in the summer a non-alcoholic pims drink made by schweppes i think - in big bottles like lemonade in tesco similare price, just add the fruit & veg no-one would know the difference

hear crying - DS has awoken - off to chnage a horrible nappy

dinkystinky · 26/09/2008 13:49

Not another poorly nipper - hope your DS gets better soon KazzaL.

Am loving that the sun is shining outside and its warm - fingers crossed it stays like this over the weekend...

Ah, Pimms - that would be nice...

supersteph · 26/09/2008 14:12

hi all, popped in to say I hope you are all havin good pregnancys. Found out last week we are expecting a girl. Yippi. I will then have my family compleat. My 2 an half yr old boy is ova the moon. He kept telling me he wants a little sister. My tummy is getting very big now and she is moving lots. This is the part of the pregnancy I was waiting for, Very reasuring. Cant believe I am 22 weeks on sunday. xx

KazzaL · 26/09/2008 14:16

hello supersteph - congrats on the little girl - i'm hoping for one of that persuasion too.

DS is sat on the sofa with a plate toast which he is licking the butter off and a bottle of milk watching BabyTV with mummy at his beck and call - not suprisingly he has a huge on his face - it is frustrating when the nursery sends him home and then he seems to be fine.

KazzaL · 26/09/2008 14:33

Parcel from John Lewis just arrived - new sleepsuits for DS - crispy white ones incase No2 is pink and then a huge bottle of perfume for me the only place I could find it and as we had some JL vouchers and they do free postage

Questionkid · 26/09/2008 14:44

I've just had to go and buy myself a new bottle of perfume as I have such a strong 'ugh' reaction to all the perfumes I have which I used to love. It's so frustrating! It was nice to choose a new one, but annoying to have 3 bottles at home that I can't use. I wonder if I'll like them again after LO is born?

dinkystinky · 26/09/2008 15:14

Congrats on your little girl SuperSteph!

Wow KazzaL, I wish your little boy gets better and lo and behold, he does.. what shall I wish for next? LittleMissNorty's crotchless maternity tights?

KazzaL · 26/09/2008 15:41

The power of thought - obviously yours is very effective dinkystinky

unfortunately DS isn't really better, still has diarrhoea, he just doesn't mind it - like when he does reflux pukes he just swallows it back down - rather a revolting child really - any he's just come over to me as I;m trying to work and he smells very bad, wet patch on trousers and more diarrhoea noises

Don;t think we'll be going to the cheese festival in cardiff tomorrow

MarkStretch · 26/09/2008 15:50

Oooh you're all making me want to go shopping with your fancy talk of perfume and the like.

I just went and met my friends in the pub and one of them bought me an irish cream cheesecake- YUM.

Congrats on your little gilr supersteph- just had a text from my cousin who is due in feb too and they are having a little girl as well. Little girls are great.

OP posts:
KazzaL · 26/09/2008 15:52

why do LOs get diarrhoea just when the wheelie bin has been emptied so the smelly nappies will fester for almost 2 weeks before being taken away - sorry but all my good washable nappy efforts go out the window when diarrhoea strikes

dinkystinky · 26/09/2008 15:56

Ooh, must think harder about your little one getting better KazzaL.

Is great that he doesnt mind the diarrhoea - my DS gets so distressed when ill with anything like that (normally happy go lucky toddler - he's really clingy, crying and impossible to deal with when ill). Top tip for diarrhoea - lots of water only and double bag the trousers if possible (or use lined trousers to avoid the mess getting onto your sofa etc).

MamaGoose · 26/09/2008 16:35

I am also at home with DS2 who has diarrhoea. We seem to have quite a collection going on between us. Urgh.

idontbelieveit · 26/09/2008 17:01

dd has never had diarrhea as yet and only had 1 vomiting virus last winter. I don't know how I'll cope when she does get ill!

I find that maternity leggings are much cooler than tights (higher cotton content i suppose) but only really work with boots. I think they're more comfortable and they don't roll down or slide off at awkward moments.

Still no luck with a girl's name. Will have to brainstorm over the weekend....

No test results either, was hoping we might get CF back this week and rule it out, should defo be here by wed though.

Weather is lovely, shame i have to work all day tomorrow. (think of the money, think of the money...)

idontbelieveit · 26/09/2008 17:02

Also my bump is huge and am also getting loads of movement. Last time i felt nothing definite until about 24 weeks so it's weird...

mslucy · 26/09/2008 17:16

my bump is huge and full of wriggles.
most people are surprised I'm only 21 weeks.
think it shows more if you're short like me and also had stomach muscles destroyed by previous pg.

ds is rarely ill but I think the molluscum (yucky warts) are making a comeback.

lardybump · 26/09/2008 17:16

Evening everyone. DD is still poorly I woke up this morning and she is covered in a rash from head to foot. So I called the Dr for an appointment telling them she had a temp of 39.9 and was covered in a rash the receptionist said "computer says no" . I got her dressed and went anyway (fuming by now as I was so worried) and demanded to see a Dr now, this second (all said in a loud whine while crying profusely! Everyone heard me that was there) !!!

Turns out dd has a viral infection which accounts for the temp and the rash again..

PFB anyone.....

In my defence I was so worried that all I could think of was meningitis...... and the receptionist didn't know over the phone that it wasn't..... Oh the shame......... I have to go back next week as well to see the midwife, should I take a peace offering do you think????

MarkStretch · 26/09/2008 17:20

Don't be ashamed Lardy! It's our job to get a bit hysterical and get our own way now and then.

I remember when DD fell down some steps, gashed her head and nose, much blood, miles from hosp, no car, no money for taxi.

Rang DR's surgery and receptionist said 'Well is it really an emergency?'

YES YOU SILLY COW IT BLOODY WELL IS!

All Dr's receptionist go to snippy arse miserable cow school.

(Sorry to anyone who is one).

OP posts:
KazzaL · 26/09/2008 17:21

I wouldn't do any kind of peace offering - too often doc receptionist seem to have had full medical training and can make decisions without even seeing a patient.

having said that I am very lucky in that my surgery has open surgeries very am & eve, you just turn up in the alloted hours and wait (& wait & wait) to be seen.
