Thought we'd go with twinklytoes suggestion since she's gone and got herself admitted to hospital in a desperate bid for attention .

Have left everyone on the stats for now, but will do another cull of deserters soon....

ok I'm reposting because I clicked post message before checking my spellling :

Hi CSWS,

no not usually, my blood pressure has been spot on throughout my pregnancy and I'm on iron as well.

Oh well will see what what happens tomorrow.

Jenwa... you're telling me about skin not able to stretch anymore. the skin at the top of my bump feels sore to the touch sometimes, so been slapping on loads of cream.

Had open house at school(work) last night from 6.30-9pm... so was at work yesterday from 6.20am-9pm - awful!! The families are really nice and lovely, though, just like their kids, so it wasn't too stressful, just a looooooong day - wish it were saturday today

jenwa and 1sttimer80 - feel the same with the skin stretching. Im starting to think i should have added a layer of fat before getting pregnant to add to skin elasticity... scared - paranoid about the possibility of stretch marks!!!

oh, and iron hb level went down again... to 6.1. Just found out most recent blood test result yesterday afternoon Dr and MW said not much they can do now as I'm 34+5 today and obviously iron tablets with OJ aren't being absorbed by my body, so we will have to just "wait and see what happens"... not what you want to hear from dr/mw.
Good news is they don't see a reason for another blood test now because they know it's low so it wouldn't do anything for us. Fed up with this!

I can't believe some are so close to giving birth!!! How exciting! I can't wait for the birth announcements.

bethoo - oilatum jr. works wonders for itching of eczema and for soothing it/making red patches go away.

blimey ladies, what a lot to catch up on. Hope Twinkley is alright and rest is keeping the LO inside for a bit longer. Loulou you sound very calm considering all the options and messing about that you ahve to get your head round. I've still got 7 weeks to go so seems ages away. Measuring a little bit small for dates and scan date put due date at 26th so I'm not thinking this one is going to come early. Still not sure what to do about setting up cot - whether in our room or spare room. DS absolutely loves the computer and it's in the spare room. If LO cot is in here then we'll probably get him/her dressed and change nappies here and then DS will want to go on the computer every time. I already have a fight to stop him watching his teletubbies video more than once a day so not sure I can cope with fights over computer too. Hope everyone else is alright and aches and pains stay at that for at least another few weeks. I tried to get raspberry leaf tablets from Holland and Barrett last week only to be told they were out of stock til the end of Sep. Anyone else had that problem?

hi all

not posted for ages but still been keeping up with your messages.

I have finished work noe, YIPEE. Just been trying to get organised, still have no moses basket or cot, but got baby clothes from loft and all washed.

Had a few period like pains last night but still got 6 weeks left to go so hoping its not a sign.

Anyway must get on with more cleaning x x

Hello ladies, Sorry I haven't posted for ages. This thread moves so fast I found it really hard to keep up once I'd missed a day or so.

I can't believe how close we all are now - especially Loulou. It sounds like you've had a particularly worrying time. Just hold onto the fact that you'll have your baby in your arms next week. How exciting!

Another reason for not posting is that I've been really fed up and spending loads of time at the hospital being monitored and having bloods taken. I've got raised ALT levels, which means my liver isn't functioning properly and can be an indication of obstetric cholestasis, which would mean an induction at 38 weeks due to an increased risk of stillbirth. However some other tests (my bile acids which give a definite diagnosis) indicate that I haven't got it. So no-one knows what is going on. I've got a liver scan booked next week which may give more info.

What all this does mean is that I'm now high risk and I can't have a water birth in the lovely birth centre that I was booked into and that even if I'm not induced I have to be continually monitored and have been told I'll have to stay on the bed not allowed to eat/drink etc. Which I can't help feeling will set me up for a possible cascade of other interventions and a big loss of control. I don't have a problem with being monitored if it's necessary for the baby but I don't understand why I shouldn't be allowed to stand up. Also, I wasn't even supposed to be at this hospital, but that's a whole other story (I posted a thread about wanting to change hospitals). I may be over-reacting but just feel really let down and frightened and I'm having trouble sleeping.

Anyway, this whinge is precisely why I haven't been posting recently. Sorry. But I didn't want to get culled off the list.

smudgey i thought it was advised that baby spent at least first 6 months in your room (as also decreases risk of SIDS apparatnly too). my new arrival will be in moses basket on the bed then co-sleep for a while if i continue to bf then into cot into which ds will then have a junior bed! i only have a little two bed house so it will be best to keep one with me for a while. also i could not get hold of the tablets at Holland and Barratt but there was another health shop (not the Julian Greaves one) that may have been local to my town, i think it was just called the health food shop! also try Boots in the supplements section. i can feel my uterus strengthening already

star will have a look for that oil though it is not that bad, only got a few and i cant really see them mw pointed them out!

Aubergine I had to be induced last time and missed out on a home waterbirth. In the end I was glad that DS was being monitored closely as his HR kept dropping. Still managed a normal birth with no additional interventions though. Fingers crossed that you can have one too.

Wow sounds like we will have babies soon but I'm very

Well my dd has been awake since 3.30am. Not amused. She has mild asthma but the min she gets a cough or cold it gets quite bad so had to take her to the docs this morning for yet another inhailer. Fingers crossed this one does the job. I need sleep.

Even when she has been sleeping all night I haven't as I cannot get comfy no matter what I do

I can barely walk today as I found out on way back from docs. I have the worst waddle ever and I am sooooo uncomfy.

With any luck I'll fall asleep tonight and wake up in 3 weeks holding my new baby

Glad to hear that so many other people are as disorganised as me. Hospital bag not fully packed, bare plaster on stairs, half plastered spare room, nothing down from loft yet. You'd think I would have learned from last time when my daughter put in a surprise arrival and I didn't even have my own maternity pads! Still, best spend a bit more time messing on the internet, a good use of my time.

Good luck to everyone showing signs, it's all getting very real and exciting!

Auberginie- hugs to you- all sounds very stressful. Hope you can get some rest before it all happens.

Bethoo- I think i ache all over at the moment- not just back and thighs. I'd love a massage mmm.

Just back from swimming- trying to go every friday with my DS before baby arrives. Its worth it- if just to clock the look of horror on the young male lifeguards face when they see this heavily pregnant woman getting in the pool ...tempted to announce next week that I've always fancied a waterbirth!
