We won't tell anyone Arti...sorry bout your awful epidural experience though!

Beans33 · 16/09/2008 14:48

SL - it's really creepy - but makes me laugh a lot! DH and I are definitely buying one, just because it is so naff and hilarious! Guess what our little beast will be wearing on Christmas Day - hahahahahah! Such a cruel Mum!! He ehee!

artichokes · 16/09/2008 14:50

Clearly I also became illiterate while typing that post. All in all it was not my finest hour. Ignoring the thousand other mistakes let me just clarify that the forceps required a huge episiotomy (not another epidural). I blame the trauma of the memory (and the fact I was talking to the mortgage broker on the phone as the same time as typing).

[creeps in sheepishly] I'm shamed in to revealing myself - you're all so chatty and my brain is so sozzled I can't seem to manage to join in but I am here lurking, thanks for asking LadyT. You are right - I am absolutely knackered most of the time though I did manage to scrape together enough energy to go out dancing last Friday till 2am and have been paying for it ever since. The little darlings hated every minute of it and have been getting their own back kicking the hell out of me ever since - and with 8 limbs that's quite an effective punishment .

Just had my maternity leave briefing with HR and have worked out I only need to take 10 weeks on SMP to get the time off I was hoping for (complicated scheme but I won't be back in the office doing my full hours until the end of September next year, yippee). I have also worked out I've only got about 25 days left in the office now, leaving beginning November.

I know what you mean about panicking about B-Day, and I've already got a DD! I just can't really imagine what it's going to be like.

Beans also my work mate bought another work mate a similar father christmas outfit one year as a joke for his son a couple of years ago from Tesco, only cost 3 quid, so you can probably get them cheap! I never thought that they would look so creepy on though! Funny though. I shall look forward to seeing pictures of your little one dressed up as Santa!
GBB - impressed with going out til 2am!!

rosmerta · 16/09/2008 15:08

aagghhh, I just typed a huge message catching up with everyone, ds managed to hit a button & wipe it all!

Oh well, sorry but I'm not going through it all again!

Hope everyone's ok, ds & I had a good trip up to my parents on the train, dh got the diy done ! I think he realised if he did it then it could mean another weekend on his own at some point .

Will go see what's happening with the meet up.

Oh sob. I'm organising the Christmas lunches for various teams at work and I won't be able to go to any of them! Very annoying!

rosmerta · 16/09/2008 15:56

Beans, that is annoying! Could you not make one of them?

OP posts:
SummerLightning · 16/09/2008 15:59

Tell them everything is booked up in december and that they have to have their christmas lunches in November

emmanbump · 16/09/2008 16:01

Agreed tell them it's in Nov and make it baby themed ha ha ha

rosmerta · 16/09/2008 16:04

lol, that's a much better idea!

OP posts:
Beans33 · 16/09/2008 16:07

hah! That would be great!

I can't whinge too much as have just organised my maternity send off lunch and I don't really intend to come back to the office after it! heehee!

SummerLightning · 16/09/2008 16:11

Not sure if I will bother with my work christmas do, everyone gets so drunk, not sure if it will be funny or just annoying!

rosmerta · 16/09/2008 16:14

Ikwym summer, I find drunk people just annoying! I went to my team's xmas lunch but not to the party, plus one of my friend's there was pregnant as well so it wasn't too bad!

OP posts:
SummerLightning · 16/09/2008 16:23

Haven't had the misfortune to go to too many drunken events since being pregnant (despite 3 weddings and a hen do, they just didn't seem to be too debauched), but my work mates can be really bad, am going out with them for a proper work thing for the first time in ages tomorrow, so will see how annoying it is!
I find my DH very sweet when he is drunk actually! Except when he tries to tell me how to drive. Then I have to tell him to shut up.

Yes, I agree re the feeling great - plus being the annoying person who can remember exactly what everyone did the night before to humiliate themselves - I'm really smug and annoying and remind them - hahahah! But actually, haven't found anyone too annoying yet, which is cool. DH goes all fuzzy round the edges and a bit smiley and I just want to hug him when he's drunk! Very sweet!

LadyThompson · 16/09/2008 16:31

Aha, GBB! If you are clubbing until 2am whilst expecting twins, I take my hat off to yer. Wow!

Enjoyed hearing about the Waterside, Turnip. I hate eating late as well, which is not very sophisticated of me. Anything past half eight is no good to me. In fact, just like the Lady in 'The Lady is a Tramp', 'I get too hungry for dinner at 8'.

Call me a fatalist but I can't believe this baby is going to stay in until my cs on the 25th Nov. Anyone else thinking that? I have no rational reason for thinking that (ok, I am at very slightly increased risk for early delivery) but it just feels like she is constantly hammering to come out. I know most first babies are late and all, but this is just a crazy hunch. Any second timers have early ones the first time around?

I am sure that my little shit darling will be late, just to arrive for Christmas.

Veggiemummy · 16/09/2008 16:39

oh Arti i did think £200k was a bit cheap and while it is sad that it isn't that much was having a minor panic about how much less our place in east London would be worth if that sort of place is worth £200k.

i can't remember who mentioned about their mother saying that they could write a novel while on mat leave but thats quite evil, what is her problem!!!!

i did my yoga which was ok, not very intensive and turns out it is kind of yoga combined with birth preparation so lots of chatting then a bit of yoga then long relaxation, but really nice group. I seem to be the last one due but the largest one, a couple of them are 1st time mums and the other 2nd time mum had a big jumper on so that is why (well good excuse anyway). I have made up for exercise by eating 2 of my butterfly cakes with a nice cup of tea.

my OU course work arrived today so i actually have to think about doing some study now once DH has set up all the stuff on my laptop.

V impressed by your late night GBB you must be shattered today!

rosmerta · 16/09/2008 16:42

Veggie, what's the ou course you're doing? Am v impressed you're starting one now!
