Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
surprisenumber3 · 23/09/2008 13:00

Hi all - hope you're all doing well!

Well I have a pinky discharge for the third time now. First was at 6 weeks, then 9 weeks, now at 10 weeks. Only very slightly pinky, ie I wouldn't know if I didn't scrutinise the white toilet paper everytime I went to the loo!

But I also have stabbing pains, like period pain but right in the middle rather than to the side IYSWIM. have been coughing, sneezing, heaving lots so am hoping I've just pulled something, it tends to go if I lie flat. I am panicking somewhat though!

I called midwife, she just said oh well you'll have your scan next week (dating scan), so we'll see then...great!

DungunGirl · 23/09/2008 13:18

conkertree

There is a lurgy going around. I was out with it for 2 days and am still suffering with it now. People are going down like flies at my office!

purlease

Hello there! Congratulations and good to see you back on an antenatal thread! I know what you mean about being wary after April..I was for ages too...

Hey hit the magic 12 weeks already! WOnderful....I hit 12 weeks in 3 days! I have my 12 week scan on Monday 29th! So I'll be 12 weeks and 2 days! At the mo, my EDD is 11th-13th April.

surpriseno3

I love how people in the health service just make us feel like paranoid crazy women! Fingers crossed for you that next weeks scan is a good one! When is your scan? Mine is on Monday monday monday!!! Can't wait!

DungunGirl · 23/09/2008 13:20

Oh oh oh...another question

Has anyone else suddenly broken out in spots, dry skin and had itchy nipples/sore boobs return (after settling down) in the run up to week 12?

Boobies calmed down after about week 8 but now issues are returning with a vengeance!

surprisenumber3 · 23/09/2008 13:27

Hi Dungungirl - my scan is next Friday, wish it was Monday though! I have started getting really dry skin this week too.

purlease · 23/09/2008 13:32

thanks Dungun. Ah yes the magic 12 weeks. Today at scan they said I am 12 weeks and 4 days (so exactly a week between us)- due on the 3rd April.

Main symptom I've had is complete exhaustion - tender boobs eased off recently although they were a bit sore yesterday.

purlease · 23/09/2008 13:34

Good luck surprisenumber3 - I don't think much of your midwife.

surprisenumber3 · 23/09/2008 13:55

Nor me purlease. My actual midwife is away, I wish she was here, she knows I'm not a paranoid crazy woman as she's seen me through severe PE in the past.

Do you think I should push for my scan to be brought forward? I have read various conflicting reports on whether light pink discharge is normal in early pregnancy. But the fact is it's blood and it's coming from somewhere!

BabyBolat · 23/09/2008 14:24

Hi everyone

Wow I went on holiday for 15 days and so much has happened - have just spent about 2 hours catching up on everything - welcome to all the newbies and sorry for all the sad news!

I am 12+4 today and my scan is tomorrow - am ridiculously excited! Although will be the first time I meet my midwife as well (have scan and booking appointment all together) so fingers crossed she will be nice and not think I am paranoid when I ask her about a zillion questions!

Have been on holiday for two weeks and felt fantastic, was so convinced I had reached the magic 12 weeks and everything was going to be great! I was only sick maybe 3 or 4 times the whole time I was away - Anyway, got back today and the MS has returned with an almighty force (as has the acne forehead!!!) I think the baby hates me being at work, maybe I should just give up and become a lady of leisure - I mean, if it's what the baby wants!!

Again - when does the lovely glow start?

My doctors keep changing my dates and it is driving me crazy - the latest is the 1st so am going to wait until tomorrow until I make any changes - fingers crossed all will be well!!!

Suprisenumber3 I would definitely push for an early scan - it's your body and if you are not feeling right you should definitely make more of a case for having it earlier.

purlease · 23/09/2008 14:47

babybolat, I'm 12 +4 today - due the 3rd.

surprisenumber3 - a friend of mine was concerned about bleeding but discovered that it was a slight cut due to dry skin. If you can get an early scan,it would be great as you don't want to be worrying for another week - ask anyway - they can only say no.

surprisenumber3 · 23/09/2008 14:52

Thanks everyone, I called again. She was really arsey to be honest, glad she's not my usual midwife. She said same as before, that it's probably nothing to do with the baby and probably just an irritated cervix and they will see next week. Hmmm...irritated cervix causing stabbing pains...sure!

ruddynorah · 23/09/2008 19:15

i'm off the list ladies. dating scan on monday showed baby stopped developing a month ago. going back in on thursday for erpc. best of luck to you all

ruddynorah - I'm so so sorry

Sending massive hugs x

purlease · 23/09/2008 19:53

Ruddynorah, so sorry to hear your news. I was in your position in April. Found out about miscarriage at dating scan. Found lots of support here on my Antenatal thread (Nov), Knicker checkers and Wagoners.

Also had erpc. While I felt physically fine, emotionally I was a wreck. Take some time out to grieve and who knows like me you could be signing up to a new Ante natal club in no time.

LuLuBai · 23/09/2008 19:58

Sorry ruddynorah. Hope the erpc goes ok and you get pregnant again soon.

After my mc I went to the deli and got a selection of yummy unpasteurised cheeses and a bottle of good red wine and got quietly drunk making a list of things I could enjoy doing while not pregnant (e.g. horseriding, scuba diving). But I was pregnant again about three weeks later so I didn't get to do any of the things I wrote down.

ruddynorah · 23/09/2008 20:08

well funnily enough this morning i had a runny fried egg on toast for breakfast, then for lunch i had a brie panini

we'll try again after christmas.

purlease · 23/09/2008 20:11

good idea - don't want to be having an alcohol free Christmas

take care of yourself.

lixanismapolium · 23/09/2008 20:14

Sorry to hear your news ruddynorah.

I spent most of today at the hospital after a bit of a bleed early this morning. They did various tests and poked and prodded me a bit, but didn't come up with any definite conclusion.

Have been booked in for a scan tomorrow morning, so fingers crossed .......

Maybe a sign that I need to be taking things a little easier, so wll try to slow down slightly. Going to take a few days off work this week and give myself a rest.

LuLuBai · 23/09/2008 20:18

mmmm - brie panini. Yum. Now go and get yourself a glass of wine.

And trying for a baby sounds like an excellent way to spend January . Certainly help get you through the post-Christmas doldrums.

Take care.

LuLuBai · 23/09/2008 20:20

Fingers crossed for you lixanismapolium

LittleMyDancingForJoy · 23/09/2008 20:59

Evening ladies, please see here for my scan results.

I wouldn't normally go on about them so much, but after last time I feel entitled to dance a little jig!

LittleMyDancingForJoy · 23/09/2008 21:12

surprisenumber3 - I hope you get your scan soon and they can set your mind at rest. Your midwife sounds like a $%$%&&%&.

dungungirl - SPOTS! Yes! I haven't been this spotty since I was 13

ruddynorah - so sorry to hear your news, wishing you all the best for next time round. Have some definitely not MN approved hugs {}{}{}

lixanismapolium - hope your scan goes well tomorrow, will be sending good thoughts your way

lixanismapolium · 23/09/2008 21:16

Congrats LitleMyDancingForJoy. Great to see such good news!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 23/09/2008 23:49

evening everyone (or maybe it's not even still evening - nearly midnight and I really should be in bed! ).

Anyway, had my 12 week dating scan today and...found out I'm actually 13 weeks! I am quite sure of my dates, so was surprised to have them move my due date from the 7th of April to the 1st. Could it just be that I've got a big baby, or the ultrasound isn't quite accurate? Just wondering how I could be a week further along, when I'm sure of dates. Anyway, exciting all the same. And the baby was soooo active - never had either of my two previous ones move around so much early on. This baby was kicking the whole time and waving its arms around - it really looked as if it was trying to say hello.

OK, must get some sleep. Goodnight.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 23/09/2008 23:52

oh yes, must update the list with my new due date! I get to jump ahead of everyone to the first - seems no one here wants a baby on April Fool's day! LOL
