Hi Lulubai

We both have a 16month old daughter born at C&W.
This is from the Kingston website.

Kingston Hospital Maternity office is open Monday ? Friday, 08.30am ? 16.30pm. To contact them Tel: 0208 546 7711 ext: 2435/2537/3034.

LuLuBai · 16/09/2008 12:22

That is a coincidence! When was your DD born? Mine is actually now 17 months (born 2 April). Will update her age when I can also update my due date.

So did you move from central London out West too?

Thanks for the number, I'll give them a bell and see what is going on.

PuzzleRocks · 16/09/2008 12:28

DD was born 23rd April. This one is due 24th. I hope they don't end up sharing a birthday.
I was living in East Sheen at the time.

LuLuBai · 16/09/2008 12:33

Gosh - yes it would be better for them to each have their own birthday wouldn't it. Ideally you want number two to come a little later so she can celebrate her last birthday as an only child.

I met a family years ago where 3 out of the 4 children all shared the same birthday as their father. Wierd.

My brother's boys are both April babies too, so DD is one day apart from her cousin this one looks likely to appear very close to his brother's birthday.

LuLuBai · 16/09/2008 15:06

Brilliant PuzzleRocks - took a while to get through and in the process I spoke to some nice people in Cardiology and other random departments (summat up with the switchboard) but I now have a scan date for 24th.

Hurrah!

PuzzleRocks · 16/09/2008 15:16

Excellent, mine's on the 9th so I shall report back.

Cadmum · 16/09/2008 15:39

May I lurk?

I have suspected for ages that I might be joining you... BFP a few days ago but shockingly few symptoms.
My stay could be a brief one but for now I calculate the due date to be April 23.

Jumbs · 16/09/2008 15:49

Hello all, I'm back from 2 wks hols. Sorry, no time to catch up on all the posts yet, but I will try over the next few days.

Luckily stopped feeling so tired while on holiday but still queasy.

Just wanted to as I should be having my scan RIGHT NOW! But came back from hols yesterday to find appt was for today, no time for OH and I to ask for time off work etc. Scan is now next Tues at 12 noon which is really annoying as hosp is about 30 miles from work so not sure how OH and I are going to manage that.

Hope everyone is well, just wanted a little rant! Still only told my parents so far, but had a lemonade on pub trip to work and one colleague raised her eyebrows and started grinning! Tummy is sticking out and can't do up trousers very well, so going to have to fess up soon!

SalBySea · 16/09/2008 15:52

get married next week and am off work ill, cant get anything done, have the whole church order of service to do, check with organists and priest, amend, and print

cannot get a bloomin thing done, its awful!

LuLuBai · 16/09/2008 17:14

Hello Cadmum and congrats on the BFP. Don't worry too much about lack of symptoms. Mine were pretty mild with DD but pretty heavy this time round. Really seems to vary from pregnancy to pregnancy.

Extremely frustrating Jumbs. Glad they have rescheduled for you.

And SalbySea - have you decided on all the details -hymns etc? I found a very nifty online tool which allowed me to design my order of service online and print off at home (it had all the hymn lyrics ready to import etc etc) I bought lovely heavyweight paper, imported an 18th century sketch of the church onto the cover) and DH-to-be sat up late into the night, folding and attaching them all together.

Despite all my best efforts, on the actual day the vicar went completely off-script and ran the whole service in a different order and no-one even noticed (except me!).

Bicnod · 16/09/2008 18:36

Right, now I'm really upset. I requested Kingston Hospital (and was told it would be fine) for scans/delivery as it is two stops away on the train/5 minute drive. Phoned up yesterday to check they'd received my referral and apparently I have to have my scans at Queen Mary's in Roehampton even though I'm delivering in Kingston?!!! Why why why?!!

SalBySea · 16/09/2008 18:42

LuLuBai what website is that?

We are having a Catholic wedding but COE hymns as most guests are COE

LuLuBai · 16/09/2008 19:29

Hi SalBySea

It's over 3 years ago now, so my memory is a bit hazy but I think this was the site

www.find-me-a-gift.co.uk/wedding/order-of-service-card-instructions.asp#templates

LuLuBai · 16/09/2008 19:32

Oh and Bicnod - what's that all about? Are you near Queen Mary's at all? I don't understand why you would have to chop & change.

Are there many of us using Kingston?

Bicnod · 16/09/2008 19:41

I'm about a 15 minute drive away I think... not really sure where it is, I think I've driven through Roehampton maybe twice in my life!

I don't understand why I would have to chop and change either - seems a bit ridiculous as I'll be delivering in Kingston (hopefully in the Malden suite). Might try calling them again tomorrow to see if there's any flexibility...

LuLuBai · 16/09/2008 19:52

Ah - just had a look on the map. It's quite a pleasant drive across Richmond Park if that helps

Give them a call on the number Puzzlerocks posted. They were reasonably accomodating about finding me a scan date that fitted in around my travel plans and inexact due date.

Bicnod · 16/09/2008 20:08

will try them tomorrow and let you know... at least i'll have the deer to entertain me if no go!

salstars · 17/09/2008 06:23

Had my scan yesterday (due to heavy bleeding last week) and conkertree you were right! I was originally having twins but the second one never developed at all, leaving an empty sac that my body is now trying to get rid of.

On the good side : saw a well-developed little baby with a strong heartbeat. Was dated exactly where I thought I was at 10+3.

On the down side : the nurse predicted that I will suffer all the symptoms of a miscarriage while my body expels the second sac. Given that I had 10 days of heavy bleeding when I miscarried last time, not really something to look forward to, and will be worrying the whole time that I am miscarrying my healthy baby too!

horsygirl · 17/09/2008 07:36

Warning. Too much information.

Is anyone else constipated?? It's doing my head in. Also, I've put on HALF A STONE!!!

Whats that all about then?????

lixanismapolium · 17/09/2008 07:41

Horsygirl ....... constipated??? I wish! I've had quite the opposite problem for over a week now and the really upset stomach combined with morning sickness is making me feel really weak!

Isn't it amazing how different all of our symptoms are.

Jumbs · 17/09/2008 08:28

Morning all,

Salbysea - Good luck for the forthcoming wedding!

I thought the tiredness had gone, but now realised it was only because I was on holiday and more relaxed. Back to falling asleep at 9 on the sofa last night and in bed by 9.45! Washing up piling up in the kitchen but no energy left after going back to work.

Still feeling sick, but like I'm properly going to be now rather than just nausea. I'm 11+3 now, surely the end is in sight soon!?

Horsygirl, not constipated but with you on the weight gain. Its all the eating to fend of nausea for me, and the eating had to be crisps, chips etc so not really healthy!

Jumbs

conkertree · 17/09/2008 09:16

hi everyone. salstars - glad that your scan showed a healthy baby - poor you though having to go through the mc at the same time. do you get any more checks as a follow up or are they quite happy with everything?

with you on the weight gain folks - trousers are getting tighter and i'm only 8+5. am constantly hungry so grazing all the time. trying to eat fruit as well as junk but it doesnt always work. would love to get to an aqua natal class or something but a lack of them around here, and not pregnant enough yet apparantly (need to be 16 weeks for the one in Cumbernauld).

LuLuBai · 17/09/2008 09:24

Errr - I've not been anywhere near the scales

TMI alert:
Constipation is v. v. normal in pregnancy. A few friends of mine said that was the first clue that they were pregnant. I was very paranoid about it with DD as I have had IBS intermitently in the past. I find Bran Flakes for breakfast every morning helps (plus they have added folic acid).

And Salstars very sad, but also happy news that there is still a healthy baby there. Remember those stats someone posted on the last thread - once you've seen a heartbeat the likelihood of the pregnancy continuing increases to over 95%.

lixanismapolium · 17/09/2008 09:51

Just been to the Dr and he has prescribed medication for my nausea. Have just taken the first tablet and am sitting here waiting for a miracle to occur!

Have to go back next week to get my blood pressure checked again as it is high for the first time in my life.

LuLuBai · 17/09/2008 10:48

oooh lucky you

I have been finding that it helps a bit if I increase the amount of water I drink. But the best cure of all is lots of sleep (including daytime naps) which is not really possible most days
