I know this is a bit gross, but does it smell? If it doesn't really smell the chances are that it's your waters gone. You could always ring the hospital and see what they say. My waters broke at 36+4 with DD (in the High Street!!!) and I honestly thought I'd wet myself because it was too early etc. Wasn't till I got to the hospital and lay down that it all came gushing out and I knew it wasn't wee...

StarlightMcKenzie, We're getting lots of wet nappies but up to a couple of days ago hardly any poo and it was very dark. She is pooing more now and it's more orange than dark brown.

I'll try getting her up for feeds more the next couple of days. The health visitor is coming back on monday to weigh her again. She is quite concerned and is suggesting formula top ups if she hasn't gained any weight by monday. I'm not sure if I'm happy with that idea, but at the same time I don't want my baby to lose too much weight.

mumiyumi · 29/08/2008 20:18

how exciting maybe another baby soon!

I've notice the cheeky october "final countdown" are still on the same thread...either they don't chat or maybe there isn't alot due in oct??? They'll still be on that in oct and we'll i'm sure be on yet another come sept!

Feeling exhausted constantly and having lots of period pain easpecially late at night....anyone else having the same....also very teary am i normal or just being a muppet!!!

cranmorefifi · 29/08/2008 20:23

oooh good luck! I too am still knackered. Managed to cook Nigella's beef, anchovy and thyme stew; a black bean chilli con carne and the lovely carrot cake. Hmm... maybe that's why I'm tired. At least can relax now knowing the freezer is a bit fuller.

mumiyumi did you get tested for anemia because I just found out that my iron is low which explains a lot.

MunkiMom · 29/08/2008 20:28

mumi
i haven't had more than normal period pains at night, but i've had PLENTY of what i call "cry-baby" moments. i'll cry watching corrie, or even some tv adverts!

you are very normal hun!
as far as being more tired, i was just ranting about that earlier today, after getting back from my very slow walk around the fields. that was hours ago and i'm still feeling quite beat down. ((i'm hoping ds sleeps through for the most of the night...momma needs some sleep!))

ha, called the midwives to let them know i was on my way and they told me to wait a bit longer. they don't seem to be worried so maybe i'll wait till tomorrow. (sorry for the false excitement guys!)

biglips · 29/08/2008 20:38

eandz - i havent got a clue if that was my water as with my 1st pg i was induced and they broke the water for me - was 12 days late once i gave birth.

biglips · 29/08/2008 20:39

make sure youre wearing a mat pad too

mumiyumi · 29/08/2008 20:43

cranmorefifi & MunkiMom I am normal!! my iron was low and i'm on iron tabs maybe i should ask for it to be checked to make sure the tablets are working...i was in floods last night at Eastenders!!! i feel i could sleep forever...well after my milky coffee and peanut m&m's that is
munkimom i hope your ds sleeps for you also....and mine for that matter

eandz make sure you go if you get more don't leave it just because they said...go with your instinct!!

eandz · 29/08/2008 20:45

is there a difference between a normal sanitary pad and a mat pad?

meglet · 29/08/2008 20:49

eandz Boots sell the big maternity pads you can sit on just in case your waters really gush. My waters trickled for a week before I went into labour, I had a very attractive mat on my car seat for a while . Otherwise I'd guess that the sanitary towels for leaky bladders will soak it up just fine.

This pregnancy business is not glamorous is it.

biglips · 29/08/2008 20:54

"use a maternity pad as stuff does not soak in and disappear immediately as with those dry weave regular sanitary pads"...this was posted by lulumama on my thread (she is a doula)

eandz · 29/08/2008 20:54

well i have one of those unattractive pads from like the 60's on (before wings and thin pads were even thought of) ...

there is no glamor to pregnancy at all..ugh!

meglet you trickled for a week?!
