Hello

I have just found out that I am pregnant and calculate that the baby is due on 1 May. It's a bit early for me to be getting excited but I can't help it!

Is anyone else due in May?

Gordon and Sarah - so very very sorry for you both. Take good care of yourselves. I hope there are very simple explanations for what has happened and that next time all will go well. Hope you both have some good news soon. x

aquababe · 16/09/2008 09:42

I'm really sorry sarah. I hope you get some answers and also all the support you need. I hope you can become a mum again soon

peacelily sorry your having to go through this. Hope the pain eases soon

gordon I've got my fingers crossed that it still works out for you, but if not I hope you too get all the support you need.

Congrats and welcome hmhb

wow chubbymummy at your mil/fil and i thought mine were bad. We haven't told my mil/fil as they said so many thoughtless and crap things over the mcs. We figured we'd tell them once it was safer. Other than that have told a small handfull of people maybe after the scan but that was what happend last time before it went wrong last year. so maybe after two scans.

aquababe · 16/09/2008 09:47

Sorry gordon crossed posts (my dd has fever so taking agaes to type messages)
good luck next time

missEdith · 16/09/2008 09:52

peacelilly sarah gopher I am very sorry to hear your news take care

congratulations to newbies

clearly I can't quite keep away, despite being very cautions about the progress of this pregnancy and always starting every conversation about it with a number of caveats

hope is hard to contain I guess

having said that not many symptoms but I do so hope it works. last year I lost the pregnancy at this stage boo hoo
going to the doctor tomorrow morning hoping he will send me for a scan

take care all

Loulabella · 16/09/2008 11:06

I'm so sorry to hear your sad news Peacelily, Sarah76 and Gordon. It makes me sad when I read posts where people are overjoyed and excited about the prospect of bringing a new life into the world, only for their hopes to be dashed and replaced by pain and grief. I feel really angry at God/the world/humankind/anything else that comes to mind. It just seems so cruel. I know at a rational level it's nature's way blah blah but it doesn't feel like much comfort when you've lost the life inside you. I'm deeply sorry and I hope you find comfort and hope in the people you love.

Momino · 16/09/2008 13:16

sarah and gordon am so sorry, we'll miss you and be thinking of you. Hope you're back really soon.
sarah, best wishes on your wedding - it will be lovely; you're DP sounds wonderful and supportive.

Gateau · 16/09/2008 13:42

All three of you;so sorry to hear your sad news.
Gordon: we "chatted" last week and you helped me figure out my due date. You sound lovely: nobody deserves this.

frazzledoldbag34 · 16/09/2008 14:09

Sarah, GordontheGopher and Peacelily - I'm so sorry to hear your very sad news. Take care. x x x

missblythe · 16/09/2008 16:34

May I join you, ladies?

Dc2 is due on 10th May, I think. Which is the same due date that I had for DD!

Haven't been to the GP yet, guess I should get a move on!

frogthistle · 16/09/2008 18:29

Another newbie here. DC3 due on 6 May, almost exactly 2 years to the day since my DD2 was born!

Yes, we go on holiday at the same time each year...!

I'm about 7 weeks I think, I've only had 2 cycles since stopping BF DD2 so a little unsure. I'm still reeling at the thought of 3 children under 5!

Hello all waves

FT

SesHasapinkline · 16/09/2008 18:50

Hi! Not been on for a while but I have been lurking. I think like MissEdith I just don't want to count my chickens so to speak...

Sarah, GordontheGopher and Peacelily - there are no words I can say that will make it feel any better. I've been there and just take each day as it comes and don't worry about taking as much time as you need.

Frogthistle and Missblythe - welcome! This seems to be a v fast moving thread but come and join the madness and the knicker checking!

I've had my first bout of proper sickness today which I guess is a good sign. I felt sick as soon as I woke up this morning and was retching as soon as I got to the bathroom. Then got stuck on the M25 (accident left it stationary) on my way to work and thought I was going to have to go out and throw up on the hard shoulder! Feeling a bit better now but still a bit off my food.
Also have really sore nipples

Hope everyone else is doing ok. Sending lots of sticky baby glue to you all.

SpangleMaker · 16/09/2008 19:03

gordon sarah I'm so, so sorry to hear your news We will miss you on here. Take care of yourselves xxx

Hello & welcome to Frogthistle and Missblythe!

Nothing much to report here - no spotting last night which was good, still frantically knicker checking though. Seems like forever until I see the midwife and get a scan.

Does anyone else feel huge already? My lower belly is bent on world domination I'm sure! DH said he had noticed I was getting 'a bit fat' and thinks I am probably eating too much!

SesHasapinkline · 16/09/2008 19:27

Hello SpangleMaker
I'm feeling v fat. Am only 6 weeks and my clothes are far too tight. Belly is pushing through my tops but I just feel fat and and frumpy

SpangleMaker · 16/09/2008 19:55

I'm feeling the same Ses. Went into Debenhams the other day to find something more comfy, and all I could see was high waisted pencil skirts and slinky satin blouses Left empty handed apart from a large bra and some fluffy slippers!

Aaargh - DH just rang to say he's bringing home fish & chips - on goes another lb or two! I naively expected my appetite to disappear in the first trimester but it's bigger than ever, like my belly!

Fish is good though, right?!

SesHasapinkline · 16/09/2008 19:57

Freaky! My DH brought home fish and chips! Must be the evening for it! I went to Next on my way home from work today and ended up buying a size 16 pair of trousers! I'm horrified and want to go on a diet!

SpangleMaker · 16/09/2008 20:03

I think we'll just have to park our vanity for the next year at least! Am on to size 14 and only 5ft1

better go, fish&chips beckon!

frazzledoldbag34 · 16/09/2008 20:11

ooh could quite fancy some fish and chips.
although have just eaten steak pie and veg - yum.
Haven't put on any weight yet but have been noticing a bit of a bulging tummy today. Obviously have no tummy muscles left after the previous 2 DD's! Oh well. Scan on Thurs so will finally find out how many weeks I actually am. Will be gutted if only 5! Feel like I've been pg for ages now.
Hi and big hugs to everyone on the thread this evening.
Hope all is well wherever you are.

I swear I can feel things moving in there. Must be wind!

chubbymummy · 16/09/2008 21:22

Bluebell mil was on the phone/doorstep constantly for the 2 weeks just before ds was born (and of course when I was selfish enough to develop pre-eclampsia it caused her lots of stress and worry).
The breastfeeding was the other extreem from you though. She has told me that she hopes I'm going to breastfeed "this one" so that I don't give it asthma like I did with ds (I did feed him for a week but really struggled and then eventually gave up when I developed mastitis). Her darling son had asthma as a child but ds obviously hasn't inherrited it from him, he got it because I didn't breastfeed for long enough!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 16/09/2008 22:44

Sarah 76 - so sorry to hear your news. This is such a happy/sad thread. Hope everyone else is OK.

I never realised how difficult womens lives are. Each stage of potential motherhood and actual motherhood seems to be fraught with potential nightmares. Love to all.
