First time mums expecting Spring babies

Hello!

I'm expecting my first baby on 24 April. I'm currently only 4+4 but have NO symptoms at all! Have just retested as I'm convinced I've imagined it!

Went to Dr yesterday to share the news and have to wait for hospital 'choose & book' paperwork so that I can arrange first scan for around 10 October.

There seems to be so many decisions to make all of a sudden...

Anyway...just wondered how you other first timers were finding things...or your other halves for that matter. Mine is still in total shock in spite of this being a planned baby!

Bicnod · 09/04/2009 10:40

Congratulations daisyj maya is so beautiful - i want a baby with lots of dark hair but i fear mini bicnod will probably be a ginger like his/her daddy

ChocEclair - can't wait to hear that your little one has arrived...

littleduck - that sounds exciting you might not have long to go then... keep us posted... i'm really looking forward to meeting up with our babies Yep, still enjoying maternity leave and filling every day with stuff so i don't think about the fact that i'm STILL pregnant...

37+3 today - i'm willing the little one to turn up next week. come on mini bicnod!

So eh,

been away for a few days,

but brought a baby boy into the world

Born on Wednesday the 8th April, James arrived a week early a healthy 7 pound 15 and a half!

We are over the moon. Birth never went to plan after 10 hours in we discovered he was breech, but I was well looked after from start to finish!

Will tell the full story later, off to gaze at the bub!!

lolianja · 10/04/2009 22:54

Ooh congrats girly - mine was a James as well! Two thread Jameses! I applaud your taste!

daisyj · 12/04/2009 11:39

girly - congratulations - can't wait to see a pic.

littleduck - hope baby is staying at bay so you can get everything done.

evs - hope your lo arrives before the next sweep and that the waiting isn't driving you too nutty.

Looking forward to hearing from CE and mizzannie, too.

mizzannie · 12/04/2009 20:40

easter eggs are hatching... baby clementine born on 10th! lovely birth in lovely birth centre 6 pounds 14, all pretty calm apart from a very gruelling 2.5 hour pushing stage! back at home same day, since then in a blur of loved up cosiness. will post whole shebang at some point.

congrats girly and good luck to the mums in waiting! happy easter!!

ChocEclair · 13/04/2009 13:05

More eggs hatching!

Madeleine Grace born on 9th April at 6.40pm. A massive 10lb 1oz. Crazy but brilliant birth story with induction, 18 hour labour, 2 hours of pushing, forceps, then emergency c section. DP says I don't do things by halves!!! The midwives and surgeon were fantastic (but epidural's are the best thing ever invented! lol!)

She's so gorgeous and I'm totally in love with her - I have to force myself to put her down! Pics on profile for those still waiting to hopefully set you off! Congrats to maizzannie and girlylala on your little bundles.

We have been home from hospital since sat night and starting to feel a bit more like we know what to do now - be warned it is totally overwhelming though!

love to all CE xxx

littleduck · 15/04/2009 10:14

Huge congrats to girlylala mizzannie and CE on your hatchings

CE your pics are lovely, she is gorgeous 10lb 1, you are clearly very good at growing babies!!!!

No sign of Microduck yet, had some more twinges last Fri and thought this could be it, nothing happened though but the twinges continue once or twice a day so I think things are getting themselves ready.

Managed to get home to see my mum and collect the mountains of stuff she had for us so now baby has moses basket to sleep in, lots of clothes, a teddy, playmat, little decorated basket full of creams, washes and lotions and loads more besides. Ma has done us proud and it is so touching because it has all been put together with so much love, it nearly makes me cry thinking of it.

Hope everyone is well and looking forward to hearing news of more hatchings

Littleduck xx

Elpis · 16/04/2009 06:38

Hello everyone - just to say how happy I am to hear all is going well (and CE's endurance!) Little news of my own except for lots of Braxton-Hicks and the occasional huge let-me-out swipe.

evs34 · 18/04/2009 16:10

hi all, congrats to the new arrivals. our easter bunny - Rose Olivia Leigh was born on the 13th weighing 3010g( 6lb 10 oz ). Home now and loving it. V long 29 hour labour but worth it!!

Good luck to all still to pop - it is so worth the worth the wait. xx

teeheelaydee · 19/04/2009 09:16

Hi all - congrats to CE, Mizzannie, evs and Girlylala.

Our little bundle arrived on Monday too, Noah Robert 6lb 12oz, also a long labour - 34 hours, although the first bit was fairly bearable reaally.

Typing this one handed!

skiingone · 21/04/2009 16:29

My... so many at once! This is fantastic!
Many congratulations girlylala, mizzannie, CE,evs and teeheelaydee!!!

Really glad to hear everyone is going well and congratulations on the beautiful babies.

CE - Madeleine is beautiful, lovely pictures and she's so big! Marianna is now almost 10 weeks and has just reached 4 kg mark. I could not imagine carrying her, let alone someone larger inside of me! Well done!

Littleduck - loooking forward to welcoming your little one.
Hugs

FlirtyThirty · 22/04/2009 09:50

Ladies - I am back. I did not fall off a cliff...rather building work became such a massive priority that it has had to take over my world.

I'm so delighted to read all your happy news though - so lovely to hear of the safe arrival of these babies - well done to you all! What clever girls you all are!

I'm due Friday - and think I will likely go overdue (though baby's been engaged for weeks). Once baby's here though, I'm determined to cut back on the manual labour though so will try and catch up with you all properly then!

With love,
Flirty x

oscar matthew born 8.59pm sun 26 april - 8lb 1oz. bf so typing one-handed... will post birth story soon

littleduck · 03/05/2009 21:00

Charlotte Louisa born 5.03am Wed 29 April 7lb 15oz. At the moment she is all snuggled up in cellular blankets lying with DP on the sofa. Very sweet picture they make I must say!

Hope everyone else is well and that all expected babies have arrived safely.

pinkadink · 05/05/2009 12:43

Adam Connor born 17th April at 2.34am. Contractions started two days before so I was very tired by the time he arrived but the birth went well and I managed with just gas and air. Stay in hospital afterwards was not good and was very glad to get home with our gorgeous new arrival. Have been enjoying spending lots of time as a family. Daddy back at work today and Adam and me are sitting snuggled up on sofa just now with me typing one handed.

Congratulations to everyone else on your new arrivals .

Elpis · 05/05/2009 23:36

Isla was born on 30 April after a rather traumatic labour - contractions for 50+ hours, synthetic oxytocin to try to speed up dilation, and finally an emergency c-section after I was still not fully dilated and she was trying to exit forehead first. But she is beautiful and the hospital team were fantastic. I was home after 48 hours.

Congratulations to everyone ... how's the feeding going? Community midwife was pressing me to step up to every hour but I just can't do that 24/7!

evs34 · 06/05/2009 19:06

hey all, sorry its been an age since my last post, just dont seem to have much time now!!

hope your all well. rose is doing well, gaining weight and is more gorgeous every day. she is feeding well though has had a few difficult days this week. she sleeps well but makes so much noise during the night - grunts, wimpers, moans etc and seems to thrash about as though in pain. - is this normal ? it is keeping us awake at night!!

congrats on all the new arrivals.

love evs xx

Bicnod · 21/05/2009 20:14

Wow - it's very quiet on here! I suspect we are all up to our elbows in nappies, feeding and sleepless nights

How is everyone? I have nipple thrush which is making feeding agony, but am on medication so fingers crossed will go away at some point...

Oscar is doing really well - he was 10lb when I got him weighed today (3 weeks and 4 days old - he has put on nearly 2lb since he was born - little milk monster!)

He feeds all the time and I am SOOOOOO tired... I've forgotten what it's like to sleep for more than 1 1/2 hours at a time!

But he smiled at me the day before yesterday (no, it wasn't wind, he definitely smiled - we were having a 'chat' and he smiled a few times with his whole face... it was gorgeous!!!) so I forgive him all the sleep deprivation and sore nipples...

Hope you are all ok and hope to hear from some of you soon!

Ooo I haven't checked this thread for ages! Loads more babies hatching out.

Congratulations to evs, teehee, bicnod, littleduck, pinkadink and elpis on your lovely little babies arriving

(Teehee - Noah is a fave name of mine)

Sounds like some of you had a difficult time in labour - it's worth it though isn't it!?

All going well here, Madeleine is 6 1/2 weeks now and smiling and cooing lots. She is trying to hold her head up but not quite got it yet. Down to one night feed which is making us feel decidedly more human - we even had a night out don't you know Feeding going well (bottles) and getting there with the baths.

I'm still in love and enjoying putting her in all her little summer clothes and taking pictures lol!

I want to see some pics from everyone else!
