Good luck with your 3pm appt pinkali. Sure everything is fine with the bean, but it will put your mind at rest.
MMarigold - I can't imagine how cumbersome you must feel carrying twins! It's bad enough with one...You can rest assured though that all the extra weight you think you've gained is perfectly justified.
Ajm - grrr. Am also v. of your negligible weight gain (but also sorry to hear you've been ill!)
I'm "Working from Home" today so have been washing the all the babygrows /blankets etc which I nabbed off my brother. I can't believe how TINY newborn stuff is! When I saw how small the newborn hats were, I couldn't believe it, but then I remembered - what fits in the hat will be coming out of my la-la (TMI) in 10 weeks....scary thought!

MerryMarigold · 26/08/2008 13:41

and if you're unlucky MMargot, the head won't even fit in a newborn hat .

MonkeyMargot · 26/08/2008 13:43

Ha ha...just read the list choc. I had to LOL at No.11 - Free Dental treatment. Yeah right - whoever wrote the list clearly hadn't attempted to find an NHS dentist in London. NOT POSSIBLE.

ChocOrange05 · 26/08/2008 13:43

Exactly Monkey I hope mine will be too small even for the hats!! Never has the nickname peahead sounded so appealing!!

No.28. HA HA HA HA. Do these people not live in London or use the NHS?

vbab78 · 26/08/2008 13:54

Hello everyone! Just caught up on all the posts since Fri. Really of your London meet. Sounds fab.

Hope everyone is well and best wishes for a quick return to health for those not well. I'm ok but been left with a horrible cough from my cold last week. But on a good note turned 30 weeks yesterday and I also finish work on Friday! YIPPEE!

Started potty training DS (age 2yr 2months) at the weekend. Starting just in the day with big boy pants. Sent him to nursery today with his potty and lots of pants and spare clothes. He does seem to be doing quite well but has had the odd wee accident. On top of potty training DS will probably by next week be in his new bedroom in a big boys bed (single bed) with rail. So will have that to deal with.

Still not got nursery plastered, decorated and stuff bought! ARGH.

Just feel emotionally drained at the mo and I dont think it is all down to hormones. I would admit if it was me in the wrong or hormones. Just had the usual stuff with DH, as described previously. Just feel like there is no love there even though he does say he loves me. Just feels like something he says like a habit but not understanding actions mean more than words.

Had some lovely times with DS and DH at the weekend. Just me and DH on our own is the problem and stuff happens that often just find myself waiting for it to go wrong.

Ok will stop stalking you now

As you were ladeez!

ChocOrange05 · 26/08/2008 14:17

I am just enjoying my homemade flapjacks which are scrummy. I am trying to increase my intake of fibre / dried fruit, which I don't really like so I thought I would make these - with the vast amount of sugar / butter / golden syrup they make the fruit taste good!! I also added some Linseed to the Oats as its contains essential fatty acids which are meant to be good in pregnancy.

If anyone wants the recipe then let me know!

vbab78 · 26/08/2008 14:41

choc - could you add the recipe to our thread? i love flapjacks. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/1379/589686?rnd=1219159473018

MonkeyMargot · 26/08/2008 15:02

I've just eaten 3 plums and spilt plum juice on my white t-shirt....AGAIN! This is the 3rd white t-shirt I've stained. I don't know why, but since being PG, I've become a very messy eater and am constantly dribbling food onto myself. Most attractive.
MMarigold - don't you try to scare me with thoughts of newborns with enormous heads......my Mum has a big head, and my husband, so I might be unlucky.

ajm200 · 26/08/2008 15:12

MonkeyMargot I used to get every meal all over my bump when I was pregnant last time. Don't worry too much, soon you'll be wandering around with baby puk on your back after winding your LO and won't even know

My son wasn't a small baby 8lb 4 but we were able to swaddle him in a baby muslin for the first 3 weeks. They come out amazingly small, (thank goodness) but grow so fast.

Chocorange05 Have you tried adding finely chopped dried apricots to the flapjacks. Tasty, high fibre and full of iron too. My toddler loves apricot flapjacks.

Oblomov · 26/08/2008 15:18

Guys, I am back.
Back form picking up Flightlite's COT.
I now have a cot. Hoooorah.
I posted a thank you thread :
thankyou

I will respond to all other posts on this thread, later.

vbab78 · 26/08/2008 15:20

ajm200 - my DS was 9lb 4 and I used to swaddle him too. Although it wasnt long before he could escape.

monkey - Dont worry about the size of baby. You would be amazed how your body adapts.

ceebee74 · 26/08/2008 15:29

Monkey - lol at you spilling food - I am exactly the same although often I don't realise I have done it until I look down an hour later and see a huge stain on my bump DH has threatened to make me wear a bib

Vbab - sorry things aren't great with you at the moment and I know you have one child already but having another is another huge change to your lives so maybe your DH is just trying to adjust to that? And wow for your DS doing well with potty training! Mine is nowhere near ready to even contemplate starting - have a feeling that it will be next Spring before I even try with him.

Pinkali - hope your appointment goes well It may be that baby has moved but worth checking it out - as I have said a few times on here that I rarely feel mine move at all but he has always been like that and I think the advice is if it changes so definitely wise to get it checked out and your mind put at rest.

Hi to everyone else Just taking a quick MN break at work

ChocOrange05 · 26/08/2008 15:40

Vbab I will add the flapjack recipe to the recipe's thread - although this is more of a pregnancy recipe - "for when you are gaining weight anyway and can blame it on baby" - rather than post pregnancy!

Obs really pleased you got the cot issue sorted.

Pinkali good luck with your appointment

ajm not sure if this is your first time posting in Nov (as I can't remember), if so welcome, if not welcome back!

Monkey I was just in a conference room with my big boss and my big big boss and realised I had flapjack stuck to the underside of my bump - classy!! Before food used to fall over the bump but now its just too big!

Hi all

Just wanted to say a BIG THANKS to all of you who have written nice things to me over the past week. The situation with DH is getting a little easier and he did spend the majority of the weekend clearing our spare room. Like most of you, our spare room contained a computer, printer, shelves, sofabed, paperwork, general junk, clothes and pretty much anything else that doesn't have a place in teh rest of the flat! It now only contains a sofabed (which is staying) and a few baby purchases of mine. I have the MIL coming to paint the room in a couple of weeks but I am going to give her time with her son to talk and am heading down to my mum instead

You are all utterly amazing and I have been so overwhelmed at the support I've had from you all - so thank you again, all of you.

Pinkali - hope the appointment goes well, please let us all know

Monkey - I have discovered that I am dropping food down me too!! Like ceebee I don't always notice until later - what's happening to us??!!!

Ladieswhotea - I can't wait to meet up and was trying to explain this to my mum who asked me if I knew anyone's RL names, to which I said 'not really' but I don't think it matters one bit!

Dozy - I am fine for whatever budget as plan on making DH pay for me to have a nice afternoon and 2pm is good as well so please count me in!

Sorry for such a long post but really wanted to let you know I am OK

xx

vbab78 · 26/08/2008 16:00

ceebee - Thanks for your kind words. DS is in the early stages of potty training so plenty of time for more mistakes.

It's the 1st time me and DH have done this so definately not experts. We started a few months back just having a potty around and kept mentioning it to DS to sort of plant the idea. my mum has done the same when DS been at her's. DS had used it on occasion but still in nappies.

At the weekend decided to give DS a try in pants at home because I went to get a clean nappy and came back to find DS (no mention from me) had got the potty out and used it for 1 & 2 and was pointing at what he had done proudly.

We aren't brave enough to go straight to pants out and at night yet. Just when at home and DS at nursery. Probably does help that DS has seen his best bud at nursery (only 1 day between them) use a potty and toilet.

Anyone any advice?

vbab78 · 26/08/2008 16:02

Autumnlady So pleased things are getting better for you, that is good news. I also can't wait for our meet-up
Vbab Sorry things are still difficult between you and your DH Good luck with the potty training though.
Oblomov Glad you got your cot back!
So far I have managed not to drop too much down my front (although you wait - it will happen tonight and I'll be proved wrong ) but I'm particularly clumsy at the moment. I keep walking into things, knocking things over and dropping them and it takes me far longer to clear up afterwards as I can't seem to get my brain into gear to sort out what I need to do. I guess this is part of pregnancy brain Fortunately it doesn't seem to be having an impact on my abilities at work which is a blessing!

vbab78 · 26/08/2008 16:26

Has anyone else "dropped" yet? Cant remember with DS. To be honest dont think DS did drop as he filled me up!

Just looked at my bump in the toilets at work and had a feel ... of the bump (!) and thought that baby seems to be very low down. Then I thought "has baby dropped already at 30 weeks". Everyone has said also that bump seems smaller than DS bump at this stage (YIPPEE! smaller than 9lb 4oz please).

Probably scaring myself.

ceebee74 · 26/08/2008 16:45

Autumnlady - so glad that things seem to be improving (although tut tut about the ironing!!). Was thinking about you but knew you would post when you were ready

Vbab - obviously have no advice on the potty training yet The nearest we have got is DS weeing on his carpet floor and then putting the potty on top of the damp patch I have certainly not dropped yet - OMG, my bump is so high and loads of people have commented on it!! It literally starts from right underneath my boobs!!
