roca 'beastfeeding' made me . It can feel like that.

Last time in hosp I wore a man's vest (large!) and pj bottoms as the pj top was too warm. My mum took a lovely photo of the 3 of us! Was that wearing a vest! But it's a lovely pic.

I think people said a nightie was easier with c-section which makes sense. TK Max sometimes have really nice nightwear...but it's a bit pot luck.

MMargot, so glad you got loads of stuff and that you can make your bro happy that you're using it after all these years...

MerryMarigold · 25/08/2008 21:12

ceebee, I am impressed. Half the time in the first month, I was in pj's all day too!

LackaDAISYcal · 25/08/2008 21:17

DS.....was in daywear after the first few days and only in babygros at might.

DD lived in babygros for about three or four weeks at least and I only used to get her dressed if her babygro got wee'd on or poo'd on.

DC3...will be in babygros until he is five

MerryMarigold · 25/08/2008 21:20

lacka. So, please complete according to your formula:

Ds1 was in babygros and only changed when dirty. I was in pj's all day too.
Dear TWINS (OMG, OMG, OMG) will be in babygros...

LackaDAISYcal · 25/08/2008 21:28

here you go MM

Roca · 25/08/2008 21:37

that is perfect for post-natal wear in hospital and to receive visitors! Lovely lacks!

LackaDAISYcal · 25/08/2008 21:50

zip front would also be good for BFing

I thought more of MMs twins being in babygros until they are teenagers though

MerryMarigold · 25/08/2008 21:50

. maybe i can dye them in school uniform colours!

Roca · 25/08/2008 22:05

you would have to get one to though MM - how cute would that be to all be in the same outfit...

morning all! Loving the adult babygros!!! I have to confess that both of my DC's were in proper clothes from day 1 (although a lot of them were all in one suits) and a babygro at night...I just like the whoile routine of getting everyone up and dressed for the day - although trying to do that and leave home by 8am for the walk to school with 3, i really can't imagine - so guessing that this baby will STILL be in babygro's until school!!!!

Did you all have a lovely weekend???? We are no closer to finishing the study into a nursery - it is just a holy mess at the moment....not impressed as DH said "oh it will only take 2 days" Yeah right.

Merrymari - was it you who got coloured patterned mussies? can you remember where from?? Bored of boring white ones!

as for what to wear in hospital - i went to Primark and bought the biggest (something like size 24) PJ's I could find...2 pairs and they did the trick and went above the scar......with DS1 I had the hideous BF nighties from Mothercare and was so embarassed by them!

ceebee74 · 26/08/2008 08:29

Morning all

Lol at the adult babygros - I saw something else like that in a magazine a while ago for women who have put fake tan on and want to go to bed without getting it over the sheets or white marks where their PJ's have rubbed

Dozy - I also like the idea of getting everyone dressed in a morning and ready for the day - but I think on the days DS will be going to nursery, baby will be still in his babygro, put in a pramsuit for the walk to nursery and then get him dressed when we get back and DS is safely out of the way .

I got some really cheap button-front nighties from Matalan (about £4 each iirc) - they weren't that unattractive and would have been great for breastfeeding (had I managed to do it!). I will probably dig those out and take them this time round.

Patterned muzzies - Blooming Marvellous do some lovely teddy ones and other patterns (although not cheap) and I got some lovely teddy ones from Mothercare last time round so might be worth checking that out.

MerryMarigold · 26/08/2008 09:06

Dozy. I got my "muzzies" from ebay. They are really good quality and very large and considerably cheaper than mothercare. Just searched under muslin squares - they are from 2 different shops. I got patterned ones for ds, so they don't get confused with nappies (they have fish and whales on them, but there were some cute flowered ones) and I got orange ones for the twins.

I got primark pj's too, but they were too wintery! Also, I 'only' got a size 18 and they did not fit over the remainder of the bump, so will need to get bigger this time. I also had some button nighties someone gave me secondhand but could never be bothered with undoing the buttons (in the middle of the night!) for feeding, just whipped me top off or pulled it right up.

ChocOrange05 · 26/08/2008 09:08

Morning all

Discovered my first stretch mark on my tummy this weekend , but at least it gives me the opportunity to use my lovely Clarins oil, now thats a stroke of luck!

As for baby clothes - I have been told not to get much as people will buy us loads, so I think I have about 10 sleepsuits and a few outfits. I guess I can just send DH out to buy more if we need them.

I hit the big 30 this weekend (in pregnancy weeks, not age years) so (and all others that celebrated their 30!)

Have a good day all.

Congrats Choc on reaching the 30 week-mark! I will be celebrating this mini-milestone tomorrow (on my own though - DH away this week).
I've been using the Clarins oil too - I love it, and they also do an excellent stretch-mark cream which I use in the day (and the oil at night).

Pinkali37 · 26/08/2008 11:01

Morning All,

I am feeling ... my leg/back is still hurting and in the last couple of days Tarquin has slowed down with the kicks which has concerned me. What do you all think???

Hope everyone else is ok though x

ajm200 · 26/08/2008 11:05

Great title! Guess I shouldn't mention that I've had to downsize my maternity clothes and have lost all my pregnancy weight before the baby has arrived

(Should add, only because I've been really poorly for 5 weeks now.)

ajm200 · 26/08/2008 11:10

As the LOs get bigger they have less room to move so you feel more squirming and less of the hefty kicks but if you are worried, give your MW a call and go in to be monitored.

I don't really feel this one at all because my placenta is at the front. At first I was disappointed but TBH I don't miss the mad 2am kicking sessions that I felt with my son.

Pinkali37 · 26/08/2008 11:25

I also have an anterior placenta but for the past 2 weeks I have been having some wonderful kicks and squirms. It's just since Sunday night s/he seems to have slowed down and only gives a very small kick once in a blue moon. I'm slightly concerned because 'they' say to look out for any changes in their pattern of movements.

ajm200 · 26/08/2008 11:36

Pinka, give the hospital a call and pop in to get monitored. It doesn't take long and will put your mind at rest.

I was monitored several times during my last pregnancy and have been in once this time round after some spotting and cramping. We could all hear my LO moving about but I couldn't feel a thing.

Pinkali37 · 26/08/2008 11:52

Thank you for your help. I have just telephoned the assessment centre and I am going in for 3pm. They were so lovely because I didn't want to make a fuss but they said I should go in to be monitored. Will they just listen to the heartbeat? I did explain that I have felt him/her but not as regular and not as strongly. It's hard not to feel paranoid but she must hear people like me all the time so she was fine. Plus my mum is coming with me as she has given up work so that will be nice (well nice only if baby is ok)

ajm200 · 26/08/2008 12:55

They will put two straps around your tummy. One checks for contractions, the other senses babies movements and heartbeat so wear something that lets them get to your tummy easily. They may also give you a clicker to press when you feel baby move so that they can compare what you are feeling with what the machine picks up.

Make sure you've eaten and drunk something before you go as this will help to get baby moving.

It's nice that your Mum is going with you as it can be a bit lonely and boring sat in a chair or on a bed for 30+ mins with nothing to do.

Good luck . I'd love to know how you get on.

MerryMarigold · 26/08/2008 13:01

Hey, pinkali. Hope all is fine. Mine seem to go through phases of loads of movement and then very little. It's hard not to feel concerned, especially when there is so long between midwife appointments. Last time I was pregnant I got food poisoning and went in to be monitored. They hooked me up to the 'proper' machine with the belt thingy and left me for a couple of hours to monitor how the baby did over a length of time. Naughty little thing kept squirming off the monitor (he was only 24weeks then) but I soon learned how to adjust it and find him again. All was fine, but it was quite nice to experience what the monitor belt thing feels like before I went into labour itself (when they do it again for you), so hope you get that too.

ajm, sorry you have been poorly, but also a bit of pregnancy weight. I don't even want to know how much weight I have gained (in the region of 25+kilos) but I can hear how heavy my feet are on our floors (which creak a lot!).

choco - had to LARF at the clarins stroke of luck. . Congrats on 30weeks! And you too MMargot, you and choco will be racing to the finishing post. [Not that it's a race of anything ). I am only 29 wks tomorrow...I am using Bio Oil on stretchmarks. I have less than last time when I was this size, but also maybe I was a bit larger to start with and therefore had more skin!!!

Drswife, how are you? Please feel free to email me at ellena underscore norkett at yahoo dot co dot uk. I can sympathise, I think, with what you are going through a little.

cricri · 26/08/2008 13:26

Pinkali Hope all is well with Tarquin this afternoon. Hopefully he's just shifted position which means you feel him less but fingers crossed all is well. Let us know how you get on.
ajm Sorry you've been ill. I've got an anterior placenta too and I must admit I've been relieved not to have all the kicking all my friends warned me about I get enough to be reassured that all is well but they don't hurt.
Chocolategal Pleased you got a consultant's appt so quickly. Hope all goes well on Thursday.
Choc I also passed the 30 week mark on Saturday Now starting to panic at the thought that LO could be here in 8 weeks' time potentially (no sooner hopefully!).
The nursery is starting to take shape at last DH has spent the past couple of days clearing out his stuff so I can now get started on organising all the baby stuff in there. I've got to go through all the boxes and bags of clothes we've been given to sort out exactly what we have and what we still need (very little I should think looking at the amount of stuff!).
Hope everybody else is OK.

ChocOrange05 · 26/08/2008 13:35

In light of our PMA thread, I came across this and thought I should share it with you all: 50 Reasons to be Glad You're Pregnant.

I particularly like no 43.
