Great news lardybump ...sorry to hear you've been ill.

TinkerBellesMum · 19/08/2008 19:32

Just email me and tell me who you are and I'll send you an invite. You need a Google account to log into it.

We put Tink to bed in her own bed, then took her in when she first woke, so she pretty much moved herself into her own bed when she stopped the night feeds. She still comes in with us if she's had a bad dream (what does a two year old have to have bad dreams over?) or is unsettled, but otherwise she is in her own bed. It's how I plan on doing it this time too.

spottyshoes · 19/08/2008 19:35

America; I've bought a antenatal yoga dvd from ebay (haven't used it yet ) as the Yoga classes near me were about £50 for 6 weeks which I though was a rip off for an hour cold damp village hall! Most leisure centres do aqua aerobics and if you tell the instructor that you are pg they can either tailor it or tell you which parts not to do.

that you have been ill lardybump but glad you're feeling bit better and yay about your results. I'm not sure I was tested for Ed's & Pat's so dont know what the results mean for them, I presume the higher the better though? (what is Pat's btw?)

Hope you enjoy your date night with hubby laidback

I'm going to try and put the thought of yummy Thai food out of my head and go for a swim now.

Laters y'all

spottyshoes · 19/08/2008 19:37

Cool, will email you when I get back Tink

herbgarden · 19/08/2008 20:07

spottyshoes I had a c section last time and I still wee myself....hopeless !!

I don't know about dc's sleeping through the night but I'll just be relieved when I can sleep through the night again....My ds is a relatively good sleeper - I am rubbish !!...

My belly seems to grow during the day - anyone else like this??

MarkStretch · 19/08/2008 20:08

YES! Herbgarden- I am exactly the same.

I look quite normal in the mornings and about 6 months gone by 7pm.

Why is that?

MarkStretch · 19/08/2008 20:11

And I have had a crap day. I have veered between happiness and hysterical crying all day and it was exhausting.

I went to the shop tonight and bought myself some nice hair products and facial wash and washed my hair when I got home. Felt a bit better.

I am treating myself to a cold bottle of low alcohol beer. Just one.

And relax....

mslucy · 19/08/2008 20:47

herbgarden and markstretch - my belly inflates at night to the size of a small continent. I already look huge.

I think wind may be part (if not all) of the story.

Have had lots of squirms and flutters today. Has anyone else had this? This is no2 so I don't think it is my imagination.

Back to hospital tomorrow for a GTT - family history of diabetes plus a very large baby last time. Worst bit is nil by mouth from midnight - not even a cup of tea first thing, which is harsh.

Not looking forward to it as the sugary watery stuff makes you want to gag. Am taking dh for moral support and ds, who will probably have a wail of a time flirting with the nurses (ds not dh )

DS has finished nursery now and I'm having him to myself for the next few weeks until he goes to school nursery. I'm really enjoying it, but he is a very active child.

I'm not sure if I could do this full time!

laidbackinengland · 19/08/2008 22:07

I am soooooo stuffed... but very satisfied .

mslucy - I have started having flutterings and prods in the last few days too .

winemakesmummyclever · 20/08/2008 08:30

Welcome and congratulations tcs and K8y!

Lardy - hope you are feeling better and good news about your results.

My appetite is finally coming back. Dh made a big fat curry last night and I stuffed myself silly Fabulous.

Ooogs & Herb - I'm with you on the broken nights. Ds went through a really bad patch when we put him a bed and still insists that 4 am is a proper time to get up at least once a week Add that to the constant waking to pee and I'm a bit of zombie at the mo.

Hope you have a better day today Markstretch.

Laidback - glad you had a good night out with your dh. Wish my mum could come up and do my housework - ds and dh go through the place like a pair of tazmanian devils. She's playing nurse to my dad (had op on foot) and they are driving each other mad .

Oh well, I'm off to put the heating on! Promised ds that we will go to feed the ducks whatever the weather today

dinkystinky · 20/08/2008 09:24

For all those with early wakers (my DS is one too)take your DC camping - it seems to be the miracle cure to early risers. DS has slept through until 7 (having to be woken by mean mummy who needs to get him up and breakfasted before she goes to work) every day since we got back from our camping trip - amazing!!

My belly also inflates from time to time - some days am fine with normal suit trousers, other days need my weeble like maternity ones. So wierd. Have also been feeling flutterings but am sure it must be gas as baby is still so tiny now (only 13 weeks) it surely cant be making vicious movements like that already!

MIL now gone and my dad is down to look after DS (mum cant make it until Friday) - as DS can wrap his doting grandpa round his little finger am fully expecting to arrive home from work this afternoon to find the house a tip and DS high on chocolate buttons...

pluto · 20/08/2008 09:57

I have worked out that avoiding liquids after 7.30pm just about gets me through the night without any loo trips. Lets hope the day times get better now I'm 14 weeks.

Today I realy need to decide whether or not to book myself in for the quad tests which are done at 16 weeks. I didn't have a nuchal scan as they aren't offered on the NHS here. Does anyone know how accurate these blood tests are? I'm sure I heard somewhere they are only about 70% accurate and the midwife said it's possible to get false positives. I'm 38 so perhaps I'm being irresponsible just to believe everything will be OK with the baby but I think I need to believe in the results if I'm going to have the test.

I hope some of you somewhere in the country are getting some some sunshine. At least the Olympics is a good distraction.

nadssss · 20/08/2008 09:59

hello to all newcomers!

My evening tummy is really huge in comparison to the morning. Sometimes in the morning I think i don't even look pregnant but in the evenings it is quite disturbingly large!

I have also put on over 3.5kg - what is everyone else's weight gain so far? The midwife told me yesterday that I had put on a third of the total weight I should gain but surely you put an awful lot more on in the third trimester.

Went for my first NHS antenatal app yesterday. They had previously been unable to fit me in in time for a nuchal fold and had told me to go private - which we did. Then when they found out we had a private scan 3 weeks ago, they refused to give another one yesterday. I suppose they are over burdened etc but was a bit annoyed as was all psyched up to see the baby etc.

Markstretch - you poor thing - just try to relax - i think it is the mood swings which are so utterly exhausting

No flutters here - am dying for them to start though.

dinkystinky · 20/08/2008 11:07

Ignore the midwife Nadsss - everyone is totally different and it really pisses me off when midwives tell perfectly healthy women they're too heavy (especially when you're a first time mum to be and owrry about everything going). I've put on about 4kg already - and ended up putting on 3.5stone with DS by the end (was immensely sporty before having him and had to give virtually all of it up and move to pregnancy yoga/pilates and walking and light weights so the weight piled on despite healthy diet and lots of exercise) so pretty sure the weight gain this time round will be the same too. As long as you're eating healthily and getting exercise, you're fine. Pretty annoying about them refusing to rescan you.

Lardybump - hope you're feeling much better.
Markstretch - hope today's a better day for you: if not, suggest getting lots of feel good dvds to snuggle down on the sofa with tonight (Princess Bride is my guaranteed must watch when feeling blue DVD...)

dinkystinky · 20/08/2008 11:10

P.s. Pluto - I missed the 11-14 week bloods test for downs etc so am going for the 16 week blood tests. They are not as accurate - 70% accuracy was the figure given to me only - and are only diagnostic anyway to give you a one in xmany risk. Did you have a nuchal fold test done? If you're really worried, you may want to consider going for a CVS or may just prefer to avoid the tests entirely - I'm doing the tests as am the sort of person who is better prepared to deal with things if she knows there is a high likelihood of them happening.

laidbackinengland · 20/08/2008 13:16

It's quiet here today !

Nadss - I tend not to weigh myself when pregnant - and the midwives here don't seem to bother either. So long as you are eating fairly healthily, I don't think there is a 'set amount' you should put on during pregnancy (within reason).

I had a private dating scan which I forgot to tell my NHS midwife about ! Hopefully your 20 week scan will come along quickly. I have mine in a month when I'll be 21 weeks.

How's your mood today Markstretch ?

tcs · 20/08/2008 15:20

good afternoon to any1 who is listening
any good idea's of best place to get a dreamgenie from , sleeping at the mo is a ngtmare feel like i want to chop off my leg's in early hours
heard dreamgenie very gud ? or any differen idea's ?

nadssss · 20/08/2008 15:36

My pillow is sitting by my desk to go home tonight! I got it from here ?

www.tensmachinedirect.co.uk/html/pregnancy_pillow.htm

Great quick service.

I must stop buying stuff.

Thanks for the weight messages - I am going to stop worrying about my weight and try to remember that I am pregnant and it?s no longer necessary to partake in the constant cycle of weight gain/loss versus self hatred etc.

tcs · 20/08/2008 15:50

thanx for that
will order 1 now

Neeerly3 · 20/08/2008 16:04

I've only gained 3lbs , but my belly is huge! I was dieting before i got pregs and got down from 10st 7 to 9st 9lbs the week before i conceived....am 13 weeks and am now 9st 12lbs! I don't get it - has my body continued to loose weight but my bump is cancelling that out - so if i wasn't pregs I could be nearer the 9st mark?

No flutterings here yet, dying to feel them, thats the bit I missed the most after giving birth to the boys - I loved my quiet times alone at home, watching my tummy jump and stretch about!

nadssss · 20/08/2008 16:23

I am jealous of your 3lbs! How annoying for you though ? you did so well to get down to 9.9 ? but I am sure you can do it again once the baby is born and you are back to normal.

Oh Laidback, I so wish I had not mentioned to the midwife that I had had a private scan! Next time I shall know!

dinkystinky · 20/08/2008 16:47

Some women are just lucky that way Nadsss - my friend (whose had 3) only gained about a stone each time and was back in her pre-pregnancy jeans two days after the births each time - most annoying for me and all of her other friends!

spottyshoes · 20/08/2008 16:59

Woo hoo I just had my scan and they have put me forwards to 13 + 1. I think that makes me 24th but she was a bit confused with the wheel thing and kind of smudged my date so it could read 24 or 25 which is helpful

I get to see my old MW on 11/09 who is lovely and hear the hb. Next scan is on 07/10 which doesnt sound that long away!

Anyone remember which sex it is for fast/slow hb's?
