Which is the 24th then - silly MW!

DS's hb was really fast and he was a boy. (still is!!) This ones is much slower - I noticed it at the 7wk scan too. DS is manic tho so hopefully it means this one will be a nice chilled out boy

MarkStretch · 20/08/2008 21:49

Hi all.

Am shattered. We took dd and dsd to Cromer Carnival tonight. It was fun and we had fish and chips by the sea and watched the floats and ignored the fact it was raining.

We did a supermarket shop today too and I bought an extra pillow to sleep with between my knees. It is soooo comfy.

I spoke to a lady today who does hypnobirthing and I'm going to have a few sessions with her to work through some of my worries about my birthing options so I'm quite looking forward to that!

Slightly better mood today, after a crying fit at Dh who annoyed me earlier but the chips helped

MarkStretch · 20/08/2008 21:51

Oh and I worked out I will be 34 weeks pregnant on my 30th birthday this year! No big celebrations for me then!

MarkStretch · 20/08/2008 22:18

Just weighed myself and think I have put on about 4 or 5 lbs.

PinkTulips · 20/08/2008 23:06

hello all, have i missed loads?

not had the energy or the time to get near the pc since last week.

feeling way more energetic today though, had a real nesting episode... decluttered and cleaned most of downstairs, mowed the lawn, made birthday cards with the kids for dp, got loads of odd jobs done and all that with four kittens, a cat and 2 toddlers underfoot

oh yeah... the cat brought her kittens into the house from the shed.... 4 six week old bundles of fluff climbing my furniture and digging up my plants.... just what i need! dp is not terribly impressed... keeps muttering things about 'crazy cat lady' and 'damn kittens everywhere'. in my defense i could hardly leave them on the doorstep in the rain though and she walked off and left them there! 2 of them have homes to go to in a few weeks anyway so it won't be for long. i'm having a nervous breakdown though trying to keep toddlers and kittens apart before someone gets hurt.

my milk dried up tonight and ds is fairly upset..... i didn't warn him it might happen as i thought it wouldn't, i've always gushed milk the whole way through pregs whether or not i was nursing so i'm quite shocked this has happened, and ds is cross as hell! i don't think he's going to have any interest in dry nursing somehow!

had my booking in yesterday, all good with the scan, the midwife sent my urine off to the lab though as 'some things came up positive but it won't be anything to worry about' hope not! she took the usual gallon of blood as well. am booked in for another scan at 32 weeks as the placenta is low same as it was with dd and ds. she'll do the final anomaly scan then as well but she didn't see the need to do one at 20 weeks as the spine and brain look to be in perfect order so spina bifida is pretty much ruled out

haven't read through so sorry if i've msssed anything important... will have a glance at the last few days now.

dinkystinky · 21/08/2008 08:54

Morning all.

PinkTulips - dont know how you're coping with cat, four kittens and 2 toddlers - I'd be going crazy!

Markstretch - glad you're feeling happier. I've also been in touch with a Hypnobirthing practictioner and am booking in with her for a course in November - we talked through the course and it sounds really interesting. DH has promised to suspend his disbelief and be fully supportive at the course... we'll see (he managed to miss 3 of the 4 NCT classes we did when I was pregnant with DS so if he makes any of these will be a miracle).

My dad is looking after DS at the moment and taught him to say my very long first name yesterday - he says it perfectly (DH v jealous as DS still calls him "gaggy") - am v proud!

TinkerBellesMum · 21/08/2008 09:06

Pink, post on the pregnant and nursing thread see if anyone has any ideas. I think though that it may come back if it's stimulated, it could be just a bad day.

While we're on the subject, I've been walking around since yesterday with a fist permanently pushed into my one breast, it's killing! I have forgotten all the things that happen in early nursing - let down when another baby cries! Achy breasts!

Not to put first time mothers off, it's not that bad and doesn't last long, but when it suddenly comes back it's bit of a shock!

onwardandupward · 21/08/2008 09:58

I'm getting let down just thinking about nursing or babies crying...

OP posts:
TinkerBellesMum · 21/08/2008 10:03

lol glad I'm not that bad! Wish I had been in hospital, I couldn't get milk for anything (other than the baby who was put in my room in the middle of the night!) I woke up on the bus the other day with the let down tingle (thankfully I didn't leak) from a baby crying.

dinkystinky · 21/08/2008 14:20

Goodness, its quiet on here today! Typical that it coincides with a quiet day at work for me though. Guess I better get back to doing some admin stuff...

TinkerBellesMum · 21/08/2008 16:53

Everywhere seems to be quiet today. I'm so bored. Tink isn't well so I can't do much cause she's clingy and has been home all day. Her dad's working late so I'm stuck on my own. We're having a spring clean with potential move/ Tink needing her own room/ baby coming and so far it's been me and my parents doing anything.. He came in late last night and refused to do anything! The place is a tip and I can't do anything about it so I'm sitting in a mess. fed up.

lardybump · 21/08/2008 17:31

evening everyone. Sorry your dd is not well tink. I hope she is not too bad. My dp is doing nothing at the moment either, he seems to think that because I only work part time I should be able to care for dd all day and do the housework and do the cooking and then work in the evenings (all while being pg). Dont seem to get through to him about it.... I hope you have more luck with your dh and hope he helps soon.

Well I have not felt sick all day.... Really hope this is it this time.... I have really bad itchy boobs though they are driving me bonkers...

MarkStretch · 21/08/2008 17:32

I'm here! Not much to say though...

Had a busy day at work and just made shepherds pie for dinner? Doing the ironing later? erm......

Have felt the baby fluttering about quite a bit today though, eeek!

herbgarden · 21/08/2008 18:21

Lardybump,I think my dh has it made too. I work 2/3 days a week in a quite full on job - I usually end up getting ds out of bed and ready for nursery - go with him on the bus to work/nursery and pick him up from nursery one day (dh does the other day)....On my "days off" -yeah right, I do the family shop, several loads of washing, drying and putting away, tidying up, all the domestic "organising" and so on and so on so that come the weekend, dh is blissfully required to simply look after ds occasionally to give me some "time off" and might prepare the odd sandwich for lunch. Luckily I have a cleaner for a couple of hours a week so I don't have to do the main clean, just cleaning up and tidying when we're there....I'm sure I'm going wrong somewhere. We're in the middle of moving house at the moment and I think other than sign a few papers, dh has not done anything yet for that (i'm in the legal business so I suppose I have a small advantage in knowing what is needed so he leaves it to me so maybe I'm being vaguely unfair) - but he's not even had to call the estate agent to iron out any of the hitches along the way. Perhaps I make my situation worse by being an utter control freak but sometimes I'd love someone to whisk me away and take charge !!!.....

Gosh what a rant that was - we are going to spend the bank hols clearing out our loft in anticipation of exchanging for our house. Joy, pregnant with a toddler and a house to pack up....Me thinks it's pay back time for dh. Hee hee hee. I'm home alone tonight so I get to watch what I like on the telly ! hooray.

Markstretch - I've had lots of flutters today and yesterday too.....it's very weird.

spottyshoes · 21/08/2008 18:23

I'm here too with even less to say. DS being far too active for me today! I'm sick/knackered as per usual and feeling sorry for myself

laidbackinengland · 21/08/2008 19:59

Oh pig.... I just typed a mammoth post and then delted it. Too tired to type it again. So just popping in to say 'hi'!!

MarkStretch · 21/08/2008 20:42

DH has taken a pic of my massive belly- far too big for 4 months! I might put it on my profile so you can all laugh reassure me that I am not a freak.

mslucy · 21/08/2008 20:47

hello there everyone.

been out all day - think it's quiet because either everyone is away or out in the park.

Went to the Princess Diana playground today which was ace - really recommend it for anyone who lives in/near/planning to visit London.

Only problem was that I felt very sick on the bus home, which is weird cos I've hardly felt sick at all.

Just eaten curry and the little one is going beserk, wriggling like there's no tomorrow.

I'm feeling him more and more and heard him yesterday when I went to hospital to talk to the doc - I asked them about another c-section and they seemed to think this was a reasonable option considering my last birth.

They were very good and talked through both VBAC and elective c-section rationally and fairly - I didn't feel I was being pressured one way or another.

Apparently ds was "back to back" which was why the pain was so excruciating.

I am allowed music during the c-section and want Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd.

I'm afraid my music taste is well and truly stuck in the 70s.

oooggs · 21/08/2008 20:49

yes markstretch - I think a photo is a good idea then we can compare

I can't join in this though as dh at work and I can't use the wide angled lense by myself

PinkTulips · 21/08/2008 20:56

lo all, quiet on my end today as it's dp's birthday so while he was out at college i was baking him a cake and trying to keep the house clean (did i mention 4 kittens and 2 toddlers? ) so he wouldn't have mountains of cleaning this evening while i was getting the kids ready for bed.

so of all yu feeling lots of wriggling..... i felt the other 2 so early it's reallly throwing me barely being able to feel this one. i feel faint flutters if i stay very still but nothing compraed to the wriggling i had at 16 weeks with the other 2.

now i'm off to stuff myself with cake

PinkTulips · 21/08/2008 20:58

my belly is staying nice and small after the initial weirdly early exploding! must be a girl as i stayed lovely and slim with dd but looked like a whale already with ds.

lardybump · 21/08/2008 21:11

I am huge as well does that mean I am expecting a boy... Oh no. I have 5 neices and a daughter I would not know what to do with a boy!!!!!

PinkTulips · 21/08/2008 21:13

was just reading through the thread and found this.... 'Try to think of it as good practice for broken nights of sleep with a newborn (unless PinkTulips has got some top tips on managing to keep them quiet till 8.30 too, I think its something we're all going to have to deal with come March next year....)'

CO SLEEPING!!!!! i have never gotton up with a newborn in the early hours

had to start with dd as she had reflux and was in pain lying down but as soon as she dozed off i'd head back to bed with her til mid morning.

with ds dd used to climb in our bed in the morning and we'd go back to sleep in a great big pile.... once they slept til 11.30 and 12 respectively.

just as well as both of mine woke multiple times at night til they were well over a year and i don't cope well with too little sleep!

MarkStretch · 21/08/2008 21:13

Ok. Have put picture up. I feel really self conscious.
