That sounds sensible to me...it's interesting how individual circumstances can shape our decisions, isn't it? When I thought this baby was going to stay breech and was contemplating the possibility of a section, I was totally confident that I would prefer a fully planned, booked in advance date rather than to go into labour and see what happened. Despite not wanting a section if I can avoid it, my reasoning was that if I had to have one, I'd much rather have the calmly planned kind. Sounds like you've had a similar thought process with the VBAC - a heavily medicalised one doesn't sound like much fun, or like you'd retain much if any control, which is the key issue I think.

Anyway, enough of my rambling

Good morning all! Looks like I survived the MILs cooking. foghorn at DH drunk. Thankfully DP doesn't really do going out getting bladdered. He tends to have a quiet glass of wine or beer at home with dinner. He was in a really snarky mood last night and kept coming out with sharp and hurtul comments at me which I was not happy about, especially as his family noticed and asked if he'd slept in the knife drawer! It really wasn't like him at all.

Wish i was able to catch up on all your news but hopefully will do that soon. Logged on to see if there are any more congratulations in order so a big 'Congratulations' to Mrs Magoo!! DS1 was also em-cs and same weight - get lots of rest when you can. Look fwd to more baby news.

All good here. Got home Saturday so only had 2 days hospital stay, was lovely to be back. DS1 taking to DS3 very well, enjoys holding him and helping with nappy changes/washes etc.. DS2 doesn't really know what to make of him but the v.strange thing for me is that DS2 seems like an absolute giant now and not my little baby. I have also been referring to DS3 by DS2's name - they are so very alike.

Slowly adjusting, we had 3 hours sleep last night a big feed followed by another 2 hours which was fantastic. B/F going fine so far, his birth weight was 7.15lbs. The biggest boy yet and born earliest too. That's it from me, all good, a bag of emotions from day to day but completely normal, cannot express in words how i feel at not being pregnant anymore or having those pains. Feel like life has started again and ME is coming back, bit like being out of work for a while and finding the job of your dreams.

Lovely to see you back ChaCha. So glad you're feeling so much better and all is so well. Does DS3 have a name yet?

Talking about when people think that babies will arrive, my DH told me yesterday that he was convinced that the baby would arrive on Friday as he (DH) was born three weeks early and on the first of the month. No sign yet ... !

But on the positive side my FIL wrote back to my DH saying that my BIL was born three weeks early and at 4.2kg (baby LWFH was measuring 4.1kg on USS at 37+6), and so I am now more inclined to blame this enormous baby on DH's genes, than to feel guilty that I have eaten too much chocolate. Ho hum.

And congratulations on Elijah's appearance, MrsMagoo. After DD arrived, I was obsessed that DS's feet had become giant-sized just because he looked so vast in proportion to the baby.

Something odd is going on in that my name and date normally have me well down the list and now I seem to be moving closer to the top. Thank goodness that Sarahnh and FL who share my date are shielding me, listwise, from the realisation that this baby might actually arrive. I was really up for the whole birth thing a few days ago. Now I'm just in denial.

Hey ho. DH has taken the DC out again, because my 'doing lovely things with them' stint this morning hasn't stopped them being like a bag of cats.

Glad things are clearer Sazzles. It must be a weight off your mind to have decided what's going to happen. Dealing with thinking about both options is too much to take on I think ...

Well, at last I have finally packed my hospital bag! Or bags, I should say, since I was unable to shoehorn all my stuff and the baby's stuff into one rucksack. The only things that need to go in mine now are washbag (obviously I'm still using all my wash stuff on a day to day basis, so will just roll up the travel pack thing and cram it in the bag when the time comes), maternity notes and iPod.

Oh, and birthplan Must remember to get DP to print out a few copies of that tonight.

Thanks Sazzles will be honest his attitude last night has inspired a few wobbles on my side today. I just hope it was a minor wobble and that he won't continue like it.

cyteen well done on the bag packing, I still haven't done mine. In fact, I still haven't bought any of the stuff yet. Eeek. I've still got time right?

cavey at your night. Though my mum has come up this week so is dealing with dd so dh and i are sleeping on henry time and got an extra chunk of sleep from 8 til almost 11 this mornng (he consistently does a decent chunk at that time - hoping it moves to a more useful time at some stage). However last night I was in a dreadful state and was almost on strike re feeding but luckily dh told me off and I got back on track despite feeling so exhausted. My poor beautful boy having such a grumpy mummy

My norks are a bit sore - but they're not like they were last week or at all like with dd. It's not the nips so much - I think he just has a strong suck, and the latch on still hurts, and poss his grip round the side - but we're def a lot better than we were. A good v pillow makes all the difference too!!! Is it a normal senstation to feel like your nips are being pushed by all the milk? ie that the norks are so full the nips are being pressed on???? It's the only waty to explain the feeling sometimes.....

This afternoon dh dropped dd, ds and I to a friend's house. It's a mum in dd's class at shcool - she has an older ds, the ds in dd's class and a 9 week old dd - so that was a nice change. Plus dh got some time to do some food shopping and have a coffee in waitrose (lol he mentioned he was tired due to newborn and they sent some biccies for the new mum - yum - he'll have to try that card more often!!!)

gigglegirl poor you with the waiting. That's not a bad weight esp considering she was early, is it??? Hope you get to go home soon!!!!

Longway...it is most definitely DH's genes.

Very out of it at the moment so forgive me. Chickened out of the sweep. I think things are moving nicely naturally so will allow them to progress a bit more before I mess with mothernature. I am 2cm now but only 20% effaced BUT HERE'S THE BIGGIE....I AM FULLY ENGAGED or 0 station as we call it here. I'm pretty sure that happened at about 4 this morning BECAUSE I FELT HER SLIDE INTO HOME PLATE!!! Having her head rest completely on my cervix will boost the dilation and effacement numbers significantly today. THUS the reason I backed out of the sweep. The plan is to stay in an upright position as much as possible to help wear that cervix door down. OH and I stopped for MEXICAN on the way home.....doc's suggestions.

So this looney bird will try to pay attention to the thread BUT my mind REALLY feels like it's already in labour....
