Hi Skybluebelle welcome. I was a lurker for a while then plucked up courage after having dd.
I dont post that often but I am here most days.
Totally and utterly ADDICTED
I have learned so much on here and got fantastic advice.
Do you know what your haveing or is it a suprise?

Hi No1 - I too have learnt a lot from what I've read so far - it's been a huge help! It's a suprise, although DH is convinced it's a boy. Certainly seems to kick like a footballer!

Hi skybluebelle, welcome to the house of impatient ladies You're not too far from me, either in due date or in location - this is my first too, isn't it exciting?

We've had a lovely relaxing day here all told - went out for a drive at lunchtime to escape the relentless Polish techno from next door and ended up in a pretty little village by the A47, stopped for a soft drink and had a nice chat in the fresh clean air Then came home and I made a rather stellar roast, if I do say so myself - DP was ecstatic. Chocolate pud and cream for dessert (not made by me, I hasten to add, so oops your domestic goddess crown is still safe), and general chilling out.

I swore I was going to pack my hospital bag and book a haircut today, but neither has happened... tomorrow, tomorrow. I did make up the moses basket properly with sheet and blanket. Strange to think I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow! I think the bump has dropped somewhat - DP was commenting today that I look really thin around my ribcage, just under my boobs, so perhaps this little one is finally heading south.

cyteen I've done most of my hospital bag (to give you some impetus as we are very close in dates!) - but still hoping it won't be needed. Going to John Lewis with dh tomorrow afternoon to get nursing bras (and then order matching Hotmilk one to VG on internet . I'm looking forward to going out with dh, just the two of us - bit sad when that is the only time you get alone together! It sounds like you are having a good time with your dp at the moment.

Cyteen It seems you are taking time to enjoy the relaxing slow pace of a childless couple - we are doing the same. Lots of nothing in particular slow strolls to pubs, coffee shops and generally doing very little.

PF Nursing bras are on my list for this week too but unfortunately the Hotmilk ones don't come in supernork size so will have to do with boring granny fabric ones.

I seem to have caught something from Buckets, if you get my drift, DH just came in and offered to run me a bath and my first thought was yippee more nookie (already been there today twice ) I'm not sure he knows what has hit him.

Off to get some crumble and ice cream for DH (he needs to keep his strength up )

Evening all, can I come in with a massive grump and a grump corner? All about bloody hormones. Was at SIL's DD bday today - feeling like shite, baby's head dropped so far it felt like i was walking around with a ball between my legs. Went to the loo, came downstairs, everyone asking if i was ok (I hadn't been that long!) and for some strange reason all I could do was burst into tears.

  1. I hate fuss
  2. I hate not being in control of myself
  3. I want this baby to come out in exactly 4 days.
I WANT TO HAVE A MASSIVE AND UNREASONABLE GRUMP, so rather than upsetting DH (who has manflu), I thought i would come on here and do it amongst understanding lovelies

lol at the spread of lusty wrong feelings Wish I was in a position to capitalise on mine...sodding fanjo soreness. I'm not sure what's worse, having no sex drive or having lots of it and no way to assuage it!

pf and oops, glad to hear you too are enjoying some together time with your menfolk. They're good boys, eh? And thanks for the reminder about nursing bras, that's something else I need to get sorted soon. I've been waiting for 38 weeks as all the books advise me, but tbh my tits don't seem to have changed much in size Just extra sag.

ataraxis I know what you mean about hating fuss and not being in control - there's nothing worse than when you can't hold back the tears, then everyone rushes over and fusses around you, and you get really angry with them for not leaving you alone and really angry with yourself because after all they're just concerned about you...

Sorry but i need a whinge to people who are in the same boat!

I'm officially 14 days from my due date, im HUGE, i cant sleep, when i do i wake every 1-2 hours for 15 minutes at a time, i have constant chronic heartburn.....

I WANT HER OUT OF ME NOW!!! NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW

Oh and to add insult to injury I woke with the most painful contraction last night and.......that was it! One poxy pathetic contraction!!!!

I would cry if i wasn't so p**d off

Backagain

Just to say popped onto board where I know Mrsmagoo from and copied this from here message to a text buddy:

At 4:30pm, she text to say she had meconium (sp!) in her waters, and was 1cm dilated, she was put on a drip to speed up labour and will have to stay in for 24hrs once little man is here to make sure his breathing is okay. She was feeling very emotional and scared at this time ((((hugs)))).

At 6pm, I got another text to say her waters had calmed down and were no longer like niagra falls, lol. She was feeling a lot calmer and things were progressing slowly, contractions every 3 mins but manageable. Staff are being lovely. Awwww!

At 8pm, the latest text - "contractions coming thick and fast now. Had shot of pethadine holding off on gas and air for the min as it could be a long labour as was only 2cm at 7pm".

SO I guess she could go in the 'In rogress' section TS
