Looks great Obs do let us know ur verdict! Me too misdee! But that style does appeal as looks like you can BF easily with it.

sparkletoes · 24/07/2008 21:35

WOW Dozy!! Seriously regretting not finding out flavour now...!

Oblomov · 24/07/2008 21:44

God Dozy, looks fab. And total Quality. I love Osh Kosh.
Did I mention that ds wore nothing but sleepsuits for the whole 0-3 months.

Think I only have a few outfits. Not sure why. You put me to shame.

So did you take out a second mortgage, just for the 0-3 clothes

MerryMarigold · 24/07/2008 21:52

Dozy, looks lovely, am sorely tempted...but have too much 0-3 boys stuff as it is. Is anyone going to do a bundle like that of girl's suff. I'll have it!

Obs and Suiledonn, I'll be Oct too, but have been refraining from mentioning it 'cos didn't want to go! Probably the middle, I don't think I can cope with getting to 38 weeks!

Obs, that sling looks great. The wrap ones look nice, but don't think I can handle the tying bit. I had a wilkinet before and used it once because it was too much hassle. Gave it to friend and she likes it! Someone gave me a baby bjorn so I have that and it seems really easy which is cool, but I'd like one I can bf in.

Everyone's been chatty tonight, taken me ages to catch up!

Why is everyone been domestic goddess. I think Drswife gets the official gold medal though. I feel hot, tired, had oven chinese 'takeaway' (not nice) for supper and can't be bothered to wash up! The washing is outside, I can't be bothered to bring it in. I still haven't tidied up my bedroom, in fact it is getting worse. SO, if anyone wants to pop over to help me out and release some pg hormones, I'd be EVERSO grateful. Taaaaa.

Dozymare · 24/07/2008 22:00

thanks ladies - I am hoping one of you have it as would much rather go to someone I know...........

Merry we hve the same EDD....I too will be in October as going for a planned section so reckon I will be end October...no way am I leaving this thread though - I LOVE you ladies!!!

Hana, that is the Q. No seriously, no one ever knows.I had loads of 0-3 months stuff. They kept telling me what a huge baby ds was, as often diabetics are.
I had my c section booked. And that was early, I think 38 weeks. But he came nealry two weeks early aswell. so, just past 36 weeks. He was fine. But only 6lb 13 oz, not the 10lb'er they had quoted.
I had to get my sil to pop to tecos and buy loads of sleepsuits in a smaller size. Newborn I think, I don't think I needed prem. He wasn't considered to be prem.

So the thing is, you never really know what size you are going to need, until you get there.

Which leads me onto second point. Yes MerryM , Me, Dozy, Suiledonn, will all be Oct. Maybe even early to mid Oct for me. But it is normal on a thread like this to have 'early's', for a number of reasons, I assume.(never having been on an AN thread before)

MerryM, I liked the look of the freedom sling. God I hope it is comfy, you never really know till baby arrives. I wanted to use it only for the first few months. I wanted it for when ds was a newborn, not for when he was aged 2 or 3. I wanted to BF. I couldn't be doing with faffing/fixing/origami. I need something faff free. I so hope I like it.

Oblomov · 25/07/2008 08:08

I am packing. Off to Newmarket for weekend, to stay with dh's bf. He runs a pub in Newmarket. He is very very good friends with Frankie DeTorri. I think we have been invited to a celebrity party on sat night.
And we are going racing. In a posh box. With lunch and drinkies. Maybe I will have one glass of wine.
Ds is totally excited.

Tinkerisdead · 25/07/2008 08:28

Merry i will take that domestic gold medal, and I thank you. {curtsey emoticon}
This week i have been trying receipes out of magazines so ive made Tana Ramseys individual toad in the hole, chicken with passata and marscapone and a nice beef stew.

The decorator is just finishing the nursery, even DH came to bed last night and said ohhh i was just peeping at the baby's room. our baby is gonna sleep in there! so excited and then i get to start putting colourful plastic tat in the playroom.

at Oblomov for going to Newmarket.
Hana ive bought some newborn and some 0-3 months stuff to cover all bases, if i end up with a "tiny baby" im screwed.

Dozy i soooo wish i knew the flavour as your clothes list is fantatstic and not only that, but really generous at the price you want. maybe i could get it and dress a girl in all rugby tops and dungarees. I could say we are trying to avoid the disney princess look from the outset?

I think ive been on MN too long, one of my posts has hit the homepage..but my house is immaculately tidy, my garden is mown and wedded and in full bloom and its chicken for tea. i can justify the laziness.

ceebee74 · 25/07/2008 08:47

Morning all

Dozy - wow, those clothes look fantastic but I have SO many boys clothes from DS plus I keep buying new stuff for this baby in the sales etc that I think DH would chuck me out if I bought anymore - sorry!

Hana - that is the million dollar question that you have asked! I bought some 0-3 months stuff for DS before he was born thinking it would be fine - he was 7lb 14 when born and it was all too big so DH had to go to Asda to get some newborn sleepsuits/vests and we had to do a quick trip to Next once I was discharged from hopsital to buy some other stuff in newborn sizes - typical, he wore them for about 2 weeks before outgrowing them and fitting into the 0-3 months stuff!!

If only he would grow at that speed now - he is 2 and has been in 12-18 month clothes since January and I am so bored of them - every morning, I look in his drawer and think 'not again' - whoever said children grow out of clothes quickly so don't spend much on them was either lying or had never met my DS!!!

x

Oblomov · 25/07/2008 08:56

I still haven't bought anything for baby.
Not specifically for baby. No clothes.
I have pump, sling, new chnaging mat cover from the USA.
I am minimal with babies clothes. I think people buy too much.
Still haven't sorted out bags and bags of ds's stuff.
Must. must. Need decorating to be finished first. Or is that just an excuse

ceebee74 · 25/07/2008 08:58

Oblomov - I definitely fall into the 'too much' category with DS's clothes but I am a complete shopaholic and have always been this way with my clothes aswell - over the years, DH has come to accept it!

Oblomov · 25/07/2008 08:59

Agree with ceebee. forced to buy newborn, only in it for a few weeks. Waste. Then into his 'planned wardrobe' - ha ha.

suiledonn · 25/07/2008 09:04

When I was expecting dd I bought stuff every week for months and we got loads of presents. I had way too much. Luckily my sister had a baby girl 8 months later so I gave it all to her. She has it all stored at her place and she is going to sort it out for me. She loves that sort of thing and it saves me a job. Still don't know what we are having this time though so most of it might be useless.

Everyone warned me not to buy newborn sizes for dd so I got 0-3 months in everything. Then when she arrived and was just 6lb3 everything was huge on her so I had to send MIL out to buy newborn and even at that some of it was still a bit too big. When I look at the size of those close now it is hard to imagine she was that tiny.

mum2becks · 25/07/2008 09:08

ceebee74 it was the same for my dd even though she was 8lb 10oz 0-3 month clothes were still huge for the first couple of weeks, but I had some newborn that went up to 9lb (all newborn seem to vary think it was asda that was up to 9lb) but it seems such a waste that they only last a couple of weeks!!!

After that dd was always in just about the size for her age so this is first lot of clothes that should now in theory last 12 months as age 2-3 years but as that will see her through all seasons you still have to buy different clothes!!

Assuming as they say 2nd babies are usually bigger than the 1st might not need newborn so just going to keep the few from dd as they were all neutral anyway, hope this one not much bigger though

LackaDAISYcal · 25/07/2008 09:13

Just popping in quickly to say Cheerio, I'll miss you all and will catch up in a week or so......when I will no doubt have to hunt for at least two threads before finding the current one

Still feeling crap, stopped puking but horrible stomach cramps, very like the gastro-enteritis i had a few years back. I'm blaming the coronation chicken baked tattie I had on Wednesday lunchtime.

Still not packed , but the house is reasonably tidy (thank to DH ). Better get a move on, eh? We are only going to the east coast, so it's only a couple of hours drive and we don't get the keys till four so lots of time!

Have fun

oh, dozy, the clothes sound fab, but I've just bought a load of newbron and 0-3mo stuff and have been promised a loan of my friends boy's stuff (who was also a winter baby so the right season). I'll package up DDs stuff when I get home and let you guys have first dibs on it too I have a lovely, dusky pink 3-6mo John Rocha snowsuit....misdee is it you who is a pram suit fetishist?

Good luck at show Hana - let us know your top tip for slings!!

I would check the size of newborn stuff, some go up to 10lbs and some stop around 7.5lbs. We had same prob with DS - too small for 0-3 mnths then 2 weeks later too big for the newborn stuff we rushed out to get! He was 8lbs 4oz at birth and seemingly they all lose a bit straight after but then in the coming weeks/mnths he grew at an amazing rate! Like Ceebs tho he has been in 12-18mnths stuff now for ages and has some 9-12 mnths stuff that still fits and yes I am sick of looking at them!

I have been buying the 'up to one month'(10 lbs) stuff for the new baby. Not spending too much on it tho as will need loads but they prob won't last long..

sparkletoes · 25/07/2008 09:37

Enjoy yourself Lacks hope you feel better soon. x

Oblomov · 25/07/2008 09:40

And the answer is :.....
No amount of planning will help.
No idea until you get there.
Buy some plastic bands/sellotape so if the sleepsuits are too long, you can tuck the feet under, and sellotape it together for a few weeks.

Oblomov · 25/07/2008 09:41

Have lovely time Daisy. Hope you feel better. See you in a week.

Oblomov · 25/07/2008 09:46

I have been having visible kicks.
Same time for the last 3 nights.
7.05pm.
My whole tummy ripples and it makes my boobs shake.

misdee · 25/07/2008 09:49

i have heaps of clothes in newborn and 0-3 month size. mainly from the dd's or leant to me from my sisters who had babies last year. i dont need to buy anything except some bibs.

but the best thing i love in the early days are baby nighdresses/bundlers. they fitted dd3 until she was 5months old.

Tinkerisdead · 25/07/2008 09:53

which nightdresses misdee, i have bought two, like a cotton bag with drawstring bottom. i cant wait to use them when drawn up looks like a little glowworm..

misdee · 25/07/2008 09:55

similar to these i have heaps as got them in the sale before dd3 was born at about 50p each. little socks and bootees underneath.
