DS is having a monster nap
I'm bored, didn't go for a nap myself as I am having a domestic goddess day - DH went off to work this morning with fresh lemon drizzle cake to sweeten the boss with, was doing quiche for tea and I have never had such a pastry nightmare, am blaming the weather or my hormones or something
Going to ring docs again now but wondering if I am over reacting, he seems fine and my cough is getting better, and what can they actually do if it is/was slapped cheek?
Haven't got a MW appt till Sept so of you hearing the heartbeat, glad everything is all well
I never looked in the boxes the MW delivered for DS homebirth, not like me at all

bubbaz · 24/07/2008 15:05

Choorange your belly button might not pop mine didn't with DS and I was huge - I guess I just hve a very deep innie
Anti D is something that you get when you have a negative blood group at 28 and 34 weeks it basically stops your blood from attacking the baby if the babys blood is positive and it crosses whilst you are pg. It can cause babys to be born blue and need a transfusion. Its not nice but well worth it I would say, you need one just after birth aswell unless baby is negative also.

ceebee74 · 24/07/2008 15:06

Sparks - they can still deduct the money during the 6 weeks you are receiving some pay other than stat mat pay - but once you are on stat mat pay only, your employers are obliged to continue to provide the childcare vouchers - however, my boss is now looking into it and wondering if there is some provision that it can all be reclaimed back once you return to work and return to full pay - I will update you if and when he gets an answer about it.

ceebee74 · 24/07/2008 15:07

Choco - same as Bubbaz, my belly button didn't pop either so it is not a certainty that it will!

bubbaz · 24/07/2008 15:08

Oblomov I am a puff when it comes to needles - either tht or my MW is very rough I think last time it was in my back and I didn't like it! You must have a higher pain threshold then me

sparkletoes · 24/07/2008 15:16

Ceebs yes I saw that they can take it off the first 6 weeks (so unfair when that rate will be based on my reduced salary because of the childcare vouchers I take effectively meaning I am paying twice...??). Let me know what your boss finds out (the swine).

Bubbaz, in the back ??????? Fortunatley , doing my own injections all my life, I have no fear of needles. But I have the pain threshold of a Gnatt.

Did I not tell you , that is why I like having a cs ?

Oblomov · 24/07/2008 15:43

Mine didn't pop last time. Hope it doesn't this time.

coolkat · 24/07/2008 15:44

I had the GTT test last week, was allowed nothing to eat or drink after midnight and had to be at hospital for 8.30. One blood test then drink jug of lucozade [sick emotion] then another blood test.

Got home and woofed 3 crumpets with butter down me I was starving.

I've been starting to worry about the birth, just silly things like how much its gonna hurt etc

Legs being pain and don't wanna work. Waiting another physio appointment.

Yorky most impressed at you being domestic goddess. I had quiche for lunch with salad and it was gorgeous, not homemade though!

Hi to everyone else, I do log on most days and read what you are up to but never know what to post! Don't want to bore you! X

LackaDAISYcal · 24/07/2008 15:51

No outie here with either of my pregnancies, but I had a very deep innie anyway (which is more round and a bit shallower than it used to be).

I think if it's going to happen it would've done so by now.

Oh was having a clear out the other day, and came across DSs cord clamp and the beads from either end of my 1st c-section scar

Still feeling awful (aching muscles and sore kidneys) and very hungry but daren't eat as everytime I think about it, my stomach turns over and I'm wracked with cramps for five minutes. DH has been home since 1pm though so the kids got fed at least. He is going to sort the kitchen out, but I still need to sort laundry and do some packing as I don't really trust him with mine and DD's stuff (colour co-ordination and shoe/outfit co-ordination has passed him by, lol)

Hi ladies

Sorry you're feeling crappy today Daisy. Hope you feel better soon.

Am feeling a bit anxious today. Really bored of it now. There's really no need. Feel like I've constantly got butterflies but not in good excited way.

Have noticed that my belly button is looking less like a black hole - can see inside it now and there is a freckle in there!

Have to have an anti-D too at the end of August. There is a chance dh is neg though as his mum is.

Anyone else got a heart murmur? I have to go for an echo scan in August. I've always had a heart murmur but they still want to check it out.

Anyhoo soz for the ramblings x

Yorky · 24/07/2008 16:53

All clear on the slapped cheek front, saw the same lovely dr as Monday and she commented on how much better DS seemed
Look after yourself lacka
The quiche looks OK, and smelt lovely in the oven but I will be interested to see how thick the pastry is - it was so short I basically picked it up in pieces and pressed it into the tin!
Not quite on the subject of postnatal threads but we are going to a bbq weekend after next with my old NCT group, one of them has a 2wk old, another has had a MC and I am the only pregnant one, will be great to see how all the babies have become toddlers, haven't seen them since we had a joint 1st birthday party for them all in January! Maybe we could do that next year as a not quite Christmas reunion?

sparkletoes · 24/07/2008 17:36

Good news about DS Yorky! Nice docs also help.

I always had similar probs with pastry but mainly due to gluten-free flour I had to use which just didn't stick together! Gave up in end...

ChocOrange05 · 24/07/2008 17:40

Obs just for you - when I was younger I used to be able to pop my belly button in and out by pinching the sides!

sparkletoes · 24/07/2008 18:24

LOL ChocO! A neat party trick! I have a 'flatty' if such a term exists...

Oblomov · 24/07/2008 19:18

GROSS

mummyhill · 24/07/2008 19:29

Just popped into see how you were all getting on. We are trying to decide wether or not to try again. Glad to see so many still here. Sorry some of you are feeling a bit yuk. Good luck to all of you in November.

Dozymare · 24/07/2008 19:38

Evening All!!!!

Poor daisy, I hope you are feeling better as the day has gone on...what time are you setting off tomorrow? are you stressing about it or looking forward to it?????? Hope you feel better soon....

Obs we are all really winding you up on this one aren't we - just to add to your general disgust, mine "popped" last week and I actually quite like playing with it

Yorky - made a quiche yesterday and had EXACtly THE SAME PROBLEM...ended up with the shortest pasty that I also pressed into the dish....it still tasted yummy but the pasty was dreadful,.,,,,still, as my husband commented this morning when he was hungover and had managed to gobble the remainder of it as a midnight munchie, you could cook for the blind!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheeky Git!!!

hi coolkat - nice to see you popping in!

I think I might make a Victoria Sponge in a minute, got an urge to bake!! DH thinks I have gone mad!

Back to previous subject of slings... this page came up in an advert on my email today and the slings seem reasonable price. Think I remember this company from a previous Baby Show but I have never tried them. If anyone interested link is...
