Just browsing Cafe Press and found these.

MarkStretch · 26/07/2008 09:20

Cool Tink!

Gina80 · 26/07/2008 09:30

I think it's more to do with being lax about everything this time round. Guilty that I dont have enough time to dedicate to just enjoying it. I thought about being pg nearly every minute last time and now I remember usually as I'm about to eat some yummy pate or brie!!!

Want a lentil weavery bag!!!! May have to get some of those for MN mates for Xmas

Clarabumps · 26/07/2008 10:11

helloo ladies, i had my scan on thursday and everything seems ok. jumping about like a wee jumping bean. The good news (?) is my midwife said that the fatness that has surrounded me is perfectly normal as apparently, my muscles are "all slack" (nice!) so thats why i have tripled in size.

Gap have started a maternity range, and they are in sale just now... i got three pairs of trousers and 4 t shirts for £32. Bargain. cut off linen trousers for £4.99. get thee along there and stock up.
i hit a mad cleaning fit last night when dp was out AT THE PUB(!!! note my rage) and ended up knackered and cursing him.
I'm so intolerant just now.

Oh- i have been told that i have a low lying placenta and have been advised to steer clear of sex( to which dp said the midwife sounded like she said ..blah blah blah..after those words were uttered) Has anyone else had this? and does it mean for the entirity of the pregnancy of just for the first wee while? sorry if this is TMI but just thought i'd ask..i didnt think to ask the midwife as it didnt really bother me but dp seems to be rather distraught..haha

lardybump · 26/07/2008 10:15

Morning everyone. I am really upset at the moment. I have been bullied into leaving my dd with her nanny for the day.

I know it will do her good and I know that she needs to be away from me sometimes but I miss her already!!! . She is 16 months old and I have never been apart from her so today is going to be really hard.

Nanny is lovely and I know she will be ok but she is my baby (PFB anyone )

Hope everyone else is well. I am still feeling very sick but the moods are better now...

Clarabumps · 26/07/2008 10:25

she'll be fine lardybump! and god if you haven't been apart from her in 16 months then you need the space too. Go have a coffee and read a book or a magazine in a cafe. or go meet a friend and have some lunch. Do the things you cant really do when you have the little one with you for the fact you need a spare pair of hands to sort them out. Enjoy enjoy..they'll be back soon!!

lardybump · 26/07/2008 10:30

I know I am being silly, and she is having a great time without me..

I am going to go shopping to get some new maternity bits, I can not hide the bump any longer.....

MarkStretch · 26/07/2008 10:58

I am going to GAP then!

Gina80 · 26/07/2008 11:01

Oh lardybump I feel your pain! I first left DS with someone else at just iver a year when I went back to work - not the best move as I was distraught the whole time! She will love it though and prolly be having a far better time than you will!

Off to GAP too!

laidbackinengland · 26/07/2008 11:22

Clara - it might not be forever ! Lots of people with a low lying placenta find that it shifts up further as the pregnancy progresses. They will look at it again at your next scan to make sure it is not blocking the cervix.

We have family here this weekend and my mum has just taken all of the kids out to the beach . Yay ! Some peace !

Tomorrow DS2 is 4 and we have lots of people coming round for a party , so need to get my thinking cap on for some games...

MarkStretch · 26/07/2008 13:11

I have had a headache all last night and now all day. Nothing is making it better. I feel too rough to even go out. What a miserable start to my week off!

I resorted to Calpol at 5am this morning because we had no paracetamol in the house.

Should I be worried or do you think it is just one of those things?

MarkStretch · 26/07/2008 13:11

Oh and DH took my blood pressure and it was fine.

Gina80 · 26/07/2008 13:29

My friend had headaches all through the summer months when she was pg. Could it be the heat affecting you? Are you drinking enough?

lardybump · 26/07/2008 14:21

Headaches can be a problem in the first 12 weeks of pg. If they are very bad go to GP if not all you can do is take paracetamol. Poor you there is nothing worse!!

dinkystinky · 26/07/2008 14:22

Markstretch - I had lots of headaches when pregnant with DS. Dont worry - its the hormone surges. It may be made worse by dehydration so ensure you're drinking loads in this hot weather. Should pass within a couple of weeks when the hormones level out. Am sure your DD will love seeing the baby on the scan - and that the sonographer will be sympathetic to having children in there (must happen loads).

DH asked DS what he'd like to call a little brother or sister last night - his very catchy response was "Gwaarrh" so the bean in my belly is now known as Gwaarrh (said in a very west countries kind of way as only 2 year olds can do!)

LittleMissNorty · 26/07/2008 14:35

I have a rotten headache as well....is paracetamol ok this early (I'm 12 weeks)?

lardybump · 26/07/2008 15:00

Yes paracetamol is the only pain killer that doesn't pass through the placenta so it is fine to take when pregnant.

TinkerBellesMum · 26/07/2008 15:35

Codeine is also safe in pregnancy, so you can take co-codamol type preparations. I was prescribed neat codeine for my back by the hospital in my last pregnancy.

MarkStretch · 26/07/2008 16:43

Well I took some paracetamol and a couple of glasses of water and a cup of tea and I felt loads better.

So we popped round to a friends and my dd played with her dd in the paddling pool and popped to the shops!

Unfortunately our Gap is so tiny it doesn't stock mat clothes, the nearest is Cambridge. Boo!

But instead I bought:

Pair of boyfriend jeans- New Look £23
Short sleeve black top- New Look £5
Blue dress- New Look £10
Pair of denim shorts from Blooming Marvellous- £29.99 reduces to £8!!!!

Am going to give DH a fat lady fashion show when he gets home.

LittleMissNorty · 26/07/2008 17:26

Thanks ladies....I took a paracetamol and had a snooze on the sofa and feel a bit better....this weather is so oppressive!

Clarabumps · 26/07/2008 18:49

i too have been having headaches and my firend who is also pg is having them too. Think it might me dehydration being a main cause ..it kind of feels like a hangover head.
off to look on blooming marvellous at the clothes.. woo hoo!
how did the calpol work? i had that problem the other night and didnt even think of calpol- doh!!
what is everyone doing this fine evening? I'm currently sitting with a glass of tonic water with lemon and hundreds of ice!!num num. I would have puked at that before as i normally have such a sweet tooth but the lemons are shouting "eat me!!"

PinkTulips · 26/07/2008 19:19

was told by my gp when having dd that parecetomal can cause miscarriage in a very tiny number of cases so have never taken it myself when preg. not sure if he was confusing it with something else though but as i generaly don't risk anything at all (not even drink ) during preg i just never took it.

clara, i had a low lying placenta with both dd and ds and by 34 weeks it had shifted up out of the way.... was never warned about no sex but maybe it depends how much it's covering the cervix or something.... or maybe my hospital didn't give a crap, far more likely!

MarkStretch · 26/07/2008 19:47

The calpol took the edge off for about an hour so I could go back to sleep but it's a low dose paracetamol- I think one spoon is about 125mg where as one tablet is 500mg.

I have stocked up on tablets today!

PinkTulips · 26/07/2008 20:30

i've got to say i find the same as clara.... if i keep my liquids up i don't get as many headaches but if i get dehydrated my head thumps.

i also found this cool little rub on stick thingy at the bottom of my fist aid kit that i bought in aldi last year. you rub it on and it eases the pain a bit... not as effective as painkillers but it does take the edge off. it's called headcalm.... i think it's pretty much the same as that 4head stuff you can get in chemists though

TinkerBellesMum · 26/07/2008 23:33

I definitely think your GP was confused! There is a risk from taking high amounts in later pregnancy (only read it today and forgot already) but it is safe normally.
