Ok I am guessing this thread will last about 2 weeks!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
vbab78 · 10/07/2008 07:35

ceebee74 - it's really cool that 5 of us have children born in the same month of June 06. My DS was due 6/6/6 but arrived on the 18th (Fathers Day).

Me and DH sort of wanted a couple of year gap so planned but i had a miscarriage at x-mas before conceiving this one shortly after. Just how things work out I guess.

bubbaz · 10/07/2008 08:01

Dozy Glad you are feeling better. We shipped the double off to MIL last night so it isn't in the house. I figure the singles don't matter as technically they are DS's and we still use them both. Congrats on all the scans.Merry hope your next one is better for you.
Vbab my kicks are very strong too - Last night baby was making the remote rock I hardly felt DS before this stage. What is your due date Vbab? I'm exactly 23 weeks today, DS was due on June 8th I was so convinced I would have him on the 6th (dads b day) or the 18th but sadly he did not appear until the 24th!!!
~A~ny scans today - Not long now Ceebee

ceebee74 · 10/07/2008 08:40

Morning everyone One more sleep for me....yippee!!

Vbab - we wanted just over a 2 year age gap aswell - we were aiming ideally for Sept/Oct but it was a little bit delayed. DS was due 7 July but decided to hang on until 14 July to make an appearance! Dozy - was your DC2 born in July aswell then? Just wondering cos you aren't on the July 2006 post-natal thread although you would be more than welcome if you wanted to pop in

Daisy - DS also loves the 'That's not my....' books - we have the bear, tractor and snowman one but I think we could quite happily buy the whole range

Merry - meant to say yesterday that you really should complain about the sonographer - no-one deserves to be treated like that however bad a day they are having

Right, need to do some work as popping out in a couple of hours to pick up DS's birthday cake from the bakery - I am far too lazy to bake my own I really should make more of an effort......

x

vbab78 · 10/07/2008 08:52

bubbaz - WOW our DS birthday's are close together. My EDD for this one is 3rd November.

vbab78 · 10/07/2008 08:54

bubbaz - Forgot to say ... so that makes me 23+3 today I think? Is that correct? I go onto the next week on a Monday.

PInkyminkyohnooo · 10/07/2008 09:32

hi All
vbab if you aredue 3rd nov, you are 23+3, same as me!

All you guys with july 06 little ones, you are nearly on the classic 2.5 year age gap between siblings. Apparrently it's a lot to do with your toddler ceasing to be a 'baby' anymore, and it makes you very broody! It's a theory anyway!

We are going to get out of the house now whilst it is not raining!!

merry I'm sorry I missed the detail of your post- so sorry the sonographer was a grump. but glad all is well.x

Yorky · 10/07/2008 09:33

Dozy glad you're having a better day. I know what you mean about hormones making a mess of everything,I can be so different one moment to the next, not with depression particularly but in energy levels. Today I am so ready to go and have sent DH to monkey music with DS so I can hoover up the 300packets of rice cakes and breadsticks which we have instead of a front room carpet! Some days, even deciding what to get for lunch is a challenge. And I'm finding emotions much closer to the surface as well, silly little things make me well up and I am not a crying in public kind of girl. Apart once from when pg with DS and DH and I went out for a meal and between the girl saying can I get you a drink and actually bringing them over I had burst into absolute floods! (We had been told that he was going abroad for 4months, in my defence)

suiledonn · 10/07/2008 09:39

Hi everyone, glad to see you are all as chatty as ever. We are just back from a few days at the seaside. We made a last minute decision to go even though the weather was terrible but we ended up having a lovely sunny day on Monday and Tuesday.

On the age gap thing my dd was born in May '06 so she will two and a half when this baby arrives. Seems like a good age gap to me!

When I was expecting dd I was an emotional wreck - I would cry at everything. I regularly cried at the X-Factor and at sad songs on the radio. The fact that I am not teary at all this time makes me think we could be having a boy.

MerryMarigold · 10/07/2008 09:55

Glad so many of us are up and down emotionally. I cry EVERY single time i hear that James Blunt song about 'carry me home' (don't know what it's called). When I am not pg I very, very rarely cry over anything. I cried in the car when I was in a traffic jam and needing the loo. I am also a lot more irritable. Sonographer y'day didn't make me cry though! My sister was impressed with how much pain I could take...I thought: well, he is just trying to check things out, and babies seemed fine as they were not budging where he wanted them to go. His name was Dominic so that name is definitely OFF the list for DS2!

Dozy, sorry pelvis is bad. I sleep with a pillow between knees but some nights my knees are in agony for most of the night. My belly hurts all along the bottom as both babies are still transverse/ breech which means one is lying right across the bottom of my tummy and the other one is lying on top. I wish they would go 'vertical', I think it would be a bit easier to carry them.

Lacka, I am adding you and 'Pinkyminky* to my list of supermums who have kids and do loads of extra 'stuff' on top. I have no idea how you manage. I can't even keep up with washing and cooking. Have to have takeaway sometimes ! (That's when I am not pg, now it's harder to keep up).

Time seems to be flying on. It's really not going to be long before they are all out. I must figure out how to upload pics to mumsnet profile. I am dying to see everyone's baby pics. Premature I know, but I am really nosy!

I missed the birthing prog. I was all set for a homebirth and then it was twins so am not allowe - even if they are head down, which is doubtful right now(keep reminding myself there is time for them to turn - I would rather not have a c-section with having to look after a toddler and twins afterwards).

I never knew the thing about puschairs! But I am not very superstitious, except for stepping on the cracks of pavements! With ds I got a pushchair at about 34 weeks and had it at home from then. What is the difference with a pushchair in the house or a cot or clothes etc. for the babies?

lackaDAISYcal · 10/07/2008 10:03

MM....I'm flattered but you haven't seen the state of my house

Oblomov · 10/07/2008 10:18

Dh has stopped talking to me now.
I barely got a kiss goodbye this morning.
Apparently "it is impossible to say the right thing"

zonedout · 10/07/2008 10:20

hello everyone, my you are a bunch of chatterboxes! haven't been on for a while as i had no internet connection for a couple of weeks and then we booked a last minute holiday to sardinia and just got back last night... i can't believe you are already over half way through a new board!!!

hope everyone is well, i shall endeavour to catch up on as much as possible. hope all scans have been going well too. ok, back to the piles of washing and post xx

ChocOrange05 · 10/07/2008 10:51

Morning all

Merry hope the sonographer didn't completely ruin the experience for you! I had a miserable one for my 20 week too but DH and I consoled ourselves by sticking our tongues out at her behind her back - it actually made me feel better! I don't care whether someone is having a bad day - you don't take it out on others!

Yorky congratulations on your baby - I think I'm having one of those too

DH and I are going to look at a second hand Quinny Buzz tonight for the bargain price of £260 with all the extras! I have heard its bad luck to keep it in the house too (on here actually) but I have no relatives nearby so I am going to have to keep my fingers crossed!

I am 23+5 today and I feel like there is AGES to go!!!! Anyone else feel like that??

mum2becks · 10/07/2008 11:05

looks like those of us with DC born in June 2006 are quite close together too, dd was due on the 12th but was late and was born on the 16th so only 2 days between our dc vbab

this one is due on 1st Nov so we could also have our 2nd DC very close together too!

However I didnt plan this age gap I was looking at a gap of about 3/4 years but not disappointed I do quite like the age gap now I have got used to the idea I have a 6 year age gap between me and my sisters (1 is 6 yrs older the other 6 years younger!) and I always felt that was too big a gap when I was growing up so hope dc will be closer, especially if my prediction is right and its another dd!!

I agree chocorange I am 24 weeks on saturday and feel like now the 20 week scan has gone but I dont see mw until 28 weeks I'm sort of just in the middle and it seems to be going slow again! Like it does at the beginning, sure it will start to fly by once I start to see mw as it will then be more regular so the weeks will pass quickly!!!!!!

Yorky · 10/07/2008 11:06

SIL is due in a fortnight and she is getting really impatient now, I am actually thinking its half cooked, wow! Hoping to hear before end of work tomorrow where DH is working next week, and if he's got a place on his course in Sept or Jan, which will have a massive impact on when we move and where baby is born! Would be nice to know
Has anyone heard from Drswife recently?

twinkle183 · 10/07/2008 11:24

Hi ya guys and girls... just thought I would let you all know that I am having a boy and that everything is fine! Hope everyone elses scans have been going well!

Take care

lackaDAISYcal · 10/07/2008 11:43

fab news twinkle

DrsWife is on holiday in Devon(?) doing her Brian Potter impersonation

I'm worried about Creena, she hasn't posted anywhere since the end of May. I hope things are OK.

ChocOrange05 · 10/07/2008 12:05

Good to hear twinkle!!

Tinkerisdead · 10/07/2008 12:07

Afternoon all.... weird i logged on just after a mention. cant believe how many posts there have been since i went away. new thread and everything... i'm gonna try to upload photos off my phone later and i'll post me in my wheelchair!!! i got a discount at paington zoo for "having a carer" then a woman chased me across the services when i was on the crutches shouting excuse me excuse me what have you done to your legs??

I opened my coat and my bump popped out and i said my legs are fine, ive torn a ligament in this. she looked repulsed and ran away!!!! Couldnt believe the nerve of her to ask in the first place. I havent had a chance to read any posts, what have i missed?

Is Pinkali back with her worries yet? What happened at merry's scan?

Im just watching the freebirthing programme as my MIL told me to watch it is its a "birth like mine will be" errrm nope. im having homebirth with a midwife not some DIY job. amazing at how relaxed these women are though...

AutumnLady · 10/07/2008 12:11

Great news twinkle! Congratulations, another boy to add to the list! It will be really interesting to see the number of each flavour we have at the end of November!

Welcome back DrsWife and am LOL at the woman chasing you across the services! What did she expect you to say???
Do you think she was one of those people who does the 'no win no fee' accident claims? Glad you had a great holiday and hope your ligaments are feeling a bit better now - can't wait to see your Brian Potter pictures!!

Welcome back DrsWife, hope you had a good holiday! Just wondering - while you were away we had some discussions about home births.. are you having a birthing pool at your place and if so will you give birth in it or just labour in it?

I am going to a home birth information session at Epsom Hospital on sunday as I am thinking about it

ChocOrange05 · 10/07/2008 12:30

Does anyone know what the difference is between these two mattresses that fit the Stokke mini cot (apart from the price!!)

£65 scroll down to "Sleepi Replacement Mattress"

£19.99

Tinkerisdead · 10/07/2008 12:41

Autumn, she was flogging credit cards and didnt even try to sell me one, she just barged over asking about my legs. very very weird!

Choc, i'll have a look back over the homebirth discussions then. yes im having a birthing pool. It belongs to my independant midwife i just have to buy a new liner. To be totally honest, i never even thought about having a pool until she said she would bring it. we then had a big discussion about it and i think i'm more and more keen on giving birth in it. My DH is being a bit of a twat saying im only allowed the pool in the kitchen as its a tiled floor which is upsetting me. i want it in the lounge so that i can get out on to floor or sofa if i choose.

However, i think i want to aim to deliver into the pool as the water certainly helps with tearing etc, easing the head out in the water will allow perinieum to stretch etc. (thats what im told i never done this before!!!). Ive worked shit loads of homebirths on tv and dvd etc now and the most relaxed and controlled appear to be those who deliver in water. I def feel much more motivated and confident in my body as time goes on to be able to do this at home. other people just keep telling me how your birth is never what you envisage which gets me down.

AutumnLady · 10/07/2008 12:42

ChocOrange - from what I can see the more expensive one is an actual Stokke product whereas the cheaper one just fits the Stokke cot and is not actually labelled Stokke (possibly another make/brand)

Does that help and make sense?

xx
