Hope you feel better Sunshine - wow, you sound so organised and I feel in total chaos...

On the iron front, I've recently found out mine is quite low and have been taking Spatone sachets which are fine, esp if they are in orange juice. Dunno if they are working yet though! Still feel pretty tired.

For all those considering buying the Hypnobirthing book/CD, I just ordered it from ebay yesterday afternoon from here and it was waiting for me on my desk this morning! £12 in total, so not bad.

Finally, I actually bought something. Oh, and some muslin squares from Boots - how prepared am I?!

Oh I've missed loads of posts! Hello all Sept expectants whop all are well.

I'm just ravenous all the time.

Anyone else (I'm 7 months gone) find getting out of bed a massive heave? There's no quick exits to run and hit the alarm clock!

Anyone else on their 2nd suddenly getting slightly hysterical/emotional about precious time left with number 1? It's very odd, I keep thinking, I need to spend all this high quality time with him quickly now!

Have washed the kitchen floor and done a little bit more baby prep. Looked at a baby magazine (a friend gave me loads) and had to shut it quickly, they scare me!!

hopefully · 18/07/2008 15:21

Sunshine how exciting to have a set date on which you'll meet your baby! Hope that makes up for the reflux and amazing non-sleeping DS a little bit.

Glad I'm not alone in being BH free starlight! Was beginning to feel like a bit of a weirdo.

So want to go home and start the weekend, and still have over 90 minutes to go. Bleurgh.

MummyToOneForNow · 18/07/2008 15:30

Great birth plan starlight - you have inspired me to get around to writing mine now. It has just occurred to me that we are going away for a week in two weeks time (just renting a cottage in the Cotswolds so not too far) and I really should take a hospital bag and my notes just in case - which means I need to dig out all the newborn clothes, get them washed, write birth plan etc!

Sunshinemummy · 18/07/2008 16:02

hopefully I am really excited and not a little bit scared!

DebitheScot · 18/07/2008 16:24

I don't have BHs either.

sunshine your reflux sounds awful. I thought mine was horrid but its not as bad as that. I get the lumps of sick trying to come up but I just get a little bit in my mouth, I'm never actually sick. Gaviscon ADvance is the only thing that works for me.

Sunshinemummy · 18/07/2008 16:29

It's not nice Debi and I can feel it a lot of the time but it's only in the middle of the night that it makes me actually sick! I've just bought some Gaviscon and it tastes so awful I'm not sure I can keep using it!

kel78 · 18/07/2008 16:32

I too have been having that acid in teh middle of teh nights and running to the toilet with a massive explosion of sickness. I have started taking gavascon advance before I go to bed and have been sick free for almost a week horray.

Starlight- thanks for the info, I have range ante natal clinic and they have put my name down, just have to wait for a call.

Sunshinemummy · 18/07/2008 16:34

What's the difference between Gaviscon Advance and the normal (vile) stuff I've bought?

hopefully · 18/07/2008 16:36

Maybe they make it extra vile?

potxola · 18/07/2008 17:01

Hi,
I don't seem to have time to spend in fron of the computer at the moment. I am getting very nervous about the whole thing. I still haven't found anyone to look after my son the day of the Cesarean and I just can't sleep after 3:00 am. I've rented the 24 series and watching it it has made me more frantic, but I love it!!!!!.

Startlight great birth plan. Why don't you want an epidural if you need a C-section?. I thought it was the best thing to do. What is the difference?

Sunshine your baby will be born a day before mine.

imoscarsmum · 18/07/2008 17:07

Gaviscon Advance costs the national debt of a 3rd world country but is a life saver - only thing that works for me. I take it after meals and before i go to bed. I'm also using Vicks vapour rub under my nose every night as I get so congested.

It's better than normal Gaviscon as it works in 2 ways - neutralising the acid AND forming a protective layer so there is less chance of acid coming up in first place. Normal stuff just neutralises acid already there.

mamamufin · 18/07/2008 17:26

I need to get hold of this gaviscon advanced .

mamamufin any supermarket should sell it. I get mine from Asda but it costs almost £6 for a smallish bottle. it's a bright pink bottle.

Stroppy Letters Work!

One of the ladies in the same hydrotherapy class as I has the same CMW I had - the one who told me that none of their midwives do hBs / WBs so if I want one then I will have to transfer to another team. .

Well on my advice last week, not knowing who was her MW, I said to request one. She did!

This same midwife didn't bat an eyelid and agreed without hesitation. Even adding that they will book her in with 2 MWs for the HB but it is likely that only one of those 2 will be there.

I wait in anticipation for the response to my second stroppy letter as the additional info she got is what was denied to me 2 wks ago, prompting my second letter.

StarlighMckenzie Thanks.I have to go to speak to the anesthetison on August 26th, the day before the C-section to discuss the options, so I guess I would ask him/her about the difference then.I am pretty sure yours will be a straight forward and enyojable birth. In between all of us there must be one whose delivery is very fast. It could be you.
