Come on I can't be the ONLY one!!! I got my BFP this morning - I think I'm due around the 12th March...

No real symptoms yet other than slightly weary this afternoon, and quite bad backache.

Not too hopeful JUST yet as very early days and had a m/c last year. Already have a DD (2.5)

Don't leave me here on my own too long!!

Hi all,

Barbie1 - hello there. Good luck, I hope it's not ectopic - keep us posted.

Well, after feeling crampy all day yesterday and generally having a bad feeling about everything I got this morning in real pain, sweating like mad and hovering next to the loo as I felt so sick. I went back to bed and a couple of hours later now feel ok. So who knows what's going on .

We shall see. I'm propbably stressing about nothing but I had such a straightforward first pregnancy that this is knocked me a bit.

Sorry for rambling on! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

twocutedarlings · 27/07/2008 08:28

Mavis

There is sickness bug going around weve all had it, what your discribing sounds just like my DH was. However in pregnancy its always best to seek a seconds opinion give NHS direct or your out of hour GP at call.

dinny · 27/07/2008 08:54

Spookymadmummy - congrats!

we are off on holiday tonight and I am feeling as SICK AS A DOG, lovely. I am also scared of flying and have to do it sans tranquilizers, aaaaargh. mind you, will prob be feeling too sick to care that much. late flight and transfer, so we won't get to hotel till about 4am ish, hideous

Sunshinesmith - ooh, we have the same same date!

Mavis - I had a really horrible crampy bug about 2-3 weeks ago, litreally couldn't stand up straight. thought it was pg related but I now think it was a virus. maybe it's that? I definitely posted on it here, will link to thread

Barbie - very best wishes to you.

dinny · 27/07/2008 08:58

Mavis - here is the thread I was on about www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=49&threadid=16129#11524676

MavisGrind · 27/07/2008 11:31

2CD and Dinny - thanks for the reassurance and the link, I'm feeling a bit better as I spent the morning trawling MN and found quite a lot of similar postings. It could well be a bug but unless I get much worse I'm just going to tough it out - we're in Oz still so a trip to the GP costs $60 so I want to make sure I'm really ill!!

Anyway, have a WONDERFUL time on holiday Dinny - if you're flagging on the plane just imagine flying for 27 hours with a two year old and morning sickness (this will be me in two weeks). That should make you feel a bit better!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I'm off for another bag of crisps!

MKG · 27/07/2008 14:16

Sorry to hear some of you are sick. I hope your feeling better soon.

Well only two more days until I see the midwife. I can't wait. I know nothing special is going to happen, I just can't wait to get the ball rolling on everything. It'll be more official after.

OK so who can't wait to find out the sex of the baby? Who will find out, and who's gonna have nerves of steel and wait? I'm on the fence about finding out because I've found out with the previous two, but since this is (most likely) my last pregnancy I think I'll wait until his/her birthday.

dinny · 27/07/2008 14:26

Mavis - poor you. Glad you are feeling bit less worried, I was worried when I had it, but it went away and hasn't come back (fingers crossed!)

MKG - am so tempted to find out but won't, as I haven't done with dd or ds.....I think it's a boy though anyway, have a feeling

MKG · 27/07/2008 14:38

I'm pretty sure it's a boy, but then again all I have are boys so I don't really know. I am secretly hoping for a girl though.

barbie1 · 27/07/2008 14:45

no idea thats way i went to be honest, really wanted a scan a day early to put my mind at ease, as for the pains any anyone else experienced such things? sorry for all the questions but it my first and my husband has gone away to work for 3 months and to top it all we have just moved 4oo miles from friends and family so im completely on my own!

emma2617 · 27/07/2008 15:06

Afternoon ladies!!! I haven't been on for a while...sheer laziness mainly! I got my scan appointment through yesterday, 12th August so just over 2 weeks to wait!

The heat is killing me, i have spent all weekend in the house with no clothes on!!! Hope it cools down tomorrow or work could be interesting!

Hope everyone is well!

dinny · 27/07/2008 15:22

Barbie, phone NSH Direct and ask them to phone the hospital on your behalf? tell them they won't do a check

barbie1 · 27/07/2008 15:34

have done, they dont scan at weekend??? load of rubbish if you ask me but its less then 24 hours now so i guess im just going to have to hold on!

laweaselmys · 27/07/2008 15:54

Hey, took me ages to find this thread because I am an utter muppet.

I found out two weeks ago today that I'm pregnant so the shock has worn off and am very happy about it, as is my partner. The due date is about 20th March, have had one pregnancy before but lost about this time (but was very ill at the time which was the cause) so am a bit paranoid but trying to be relaxed about it.

For some reason I really feel like this is a boy and cannot wait to find out if I'm right, definately not until the birth, 20 weeks is months away as it is!!

Congratulations to all the other mum's here and I hope they seem you promptly tomorrow barbie1 it makes absolutely no sense the way there are barely any specialist staff in hospitals at weekends - it's not like people don't get sick then.

twocutedarlings · 27/07/2008 15:55

barbie, ive just been reading on the other tread that you posted on about your blood test coming back from hospital as being OK.

I believe that what they are actually looking for in this test, is the level of the HGC level in your blood. In an ectopic i believe that the levels dont get as high as they do in a normal pregnancy. This all looks like a good sign I believe Emma on this tread had similar problems early on her pregnancy, have a look further up this thread.

Hope this helps XX

laweaselmys · 27/07/2008 15:55

also, does anybody else irrationally not want to go out in the sunshine? It makes me feel sick, for some reason... maybe I'm just dehydrated in all this heat.

barbie1 · 27/07/2008 16:24

thankyou so much twocutedarlings i have indeed found emma post and it sounds good so now im a little more positive about tomorrow ill keep you posted xx

emma2617 · 27/07/2008 16:29

barbie hey, and welcome! as twocutedarlings said I did have similar problems with a suspect ectopic pregnancy. They just checked my hcg levels every couple of days for a week to see how they were rising...they suspected it was ectopic due to low hcg levels to begin with! They didn't opt for a scan immediately because there isn't a risk to maternal health until approx 8/9 weeks s that is when the foetus gets large enough to cause a rupture, so they still had time to wait for bloods in my case. They were rising exponentially so ectopic was ruled out, although the GP did have the EPAU on speed-dial for an immediate scan if hcg levels stopped rising or rose too slow. Can I ask why they suspect an ectopic? With regards pain, I was told only to worry unless the pain became constant and or unbearable as some pain/cramping is normal in early pregnancy. Anyways, hope you are feeling okay and time isn't dragging until that scan, I had a full week of bLoods before ectopic was ruled out so I know how you feEl!

DawnAS · 27/07/2008 16:34

Hi ladies,

I've been on some other threads for a while but got a BFP last Tuesday so now heading up to 5 wks PG and due end of March/beginning of April.

This is my first and I wonder if someone might be able to put my mind at rest....

I noticed when I went to the toilet about half an hour ago, that my CM was blood tinged, browny/pink blood. I've got no cramping or pain but worried that this could be a sign of an MC... Does anyone know what the signs are? The only pregnancy symptoms that I've really had are sore boobs and tiredness...

Any help gratefully received!!

xxx

barbie1 · 27/07/2008 16:34

well i had pain on my left side, contant, dull ache just under rib and then moving to my back...couldnt work out if the back pain was worse of if it was in the tummy! went to a and e and they bought up ectopic as it was one sided, said if i had any shoulder pain to go back, which i did this morning and then only to be told im being over sensitive!!! (angry) now i have these weird pains middle of belly below belly button only futher down...feels just like sharp pulling, keep coming and going, did you have that too?

barbie1 · 27/07/2008 16:37

dawnAS i had that on thursday was told as long as its not bright red then its fine, just your body settling in to impending mummyhood! No cramps is good new too big hugs x

emma2617 · 27/07/2008 16:41

I definately had sharp pulling, and aching and tingling in my right hip, I also had sharp stabbing pains right in the middle of my uterus on and off one evening. All unpleasant and very scary after ectopic has been mentioned. The shoulder tip pain is associated with a ruptured ectopic pregnancy so at 6 weeks you would be unlikely to have ruptured anyway...hence the doctors telling you you were being over-sensitive (all be it in an exceptionally rude and insensitive way, like a lot of medical professionals!)

DawnAS · 27/07/2008 16:41

Thanks Barbie. I'm starting to talk myself into cramps now so really need to get a grip!!

I nice cup of decaf (yuk), Tea should help. Other weird thing is that the CM only seems to be in my underwear, when I wipe, it's still normal colour. (Sorry about TMI).

Thanks again!!

xx

PS: Sorry that you're in pain too!! Roll on the next 7 weeks!!

barbie1 · 27/07/2008 16:47

im glad dawnas that you are the same as me, i can talk myself into anything!!! just keep in touch also thanks em
