Twinkle glad to here the boys are doing well although Connor is needing some support still it is actually really common for little ones to pee out sodium so although it is only one of the boys and it is a case of chasing their tail with him try not to fret he may well also need other supplements like potassium because he may well also pee it out and they may give him diuretics to help get him off breathing support and phosphate because babies who are on some sort of breathing support need a little extra (you metabolise it when breathing).
EEC I have been in and out of the hospital since I was 25 weeks and have never been made to feel daft for ringing and going in and it just so reassuring
libralady sorry you are still having problems with the breastfeeding hope it will sort it's self out soon, but remember that stress and tiredness will not help (although nothing you can do about it really you will worry or being tired no matter what) the most important thing is you enjoy Luke I know you want to breastfeed and will try as long as you can, but if it gets too much remember formula is fine you have tried your hardest and he will develop as brilliantly as his sibling.
Re milk supply Sadly one of the most important times to express is between about midnight and 2 am because your hormone levels go up and that is when you can really stimulate it (proof if you needed any god is a bloke with a bade sense of humour ).
Make sure you are looking after your self getting enough rest, eating well and drinking to thirst because you will not get out what you do not put in, I know with a new baby sometimes you forget your self but you need to look after your own needs too made all the harder when you have another child already.
The other thing to think about is are you still bleeding a lot? I'm sure your midwife has already asked and it's probably because he is not sucking at the breast brilliantly but occasionally it can be down to a small piece of retained placenta, my poor SiL suffered from this end of last year it was a real pain. If you are getting a lot of bleeding, it smells etc mention it to your midwife or GP. There are also other things like thyroid function which may need ruling out as low thyroid levels can also effect milk supply as can the hormonal contraceptive.
There are several herbs too which can help Fenugreek, Blessed Thistle, and Red Raspberry. Brewers Yeast (containing B vitamins) is another commonly recommended treatment for low milk supply. My SiL used something called Mother?s Milk Tea which combines several herbs and other things. Talk to your midwife about them some can interfere with other medication. If they do not help there is also 2 drugs which have a side effect of increasing milk supply Domperidone and Metoclopramide (we used to recommend this if all else failed at work but now I believe Domperidone is the recommended drug) but you will need them prescribed by your GP.
The Kellymom siteis one of the best for advice on increasing milk supply I have seen
