Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
HazieDazieandBaby · 17/06/2008 09:22

Ah, good plan VG! My DH would never fall for it though, he's too busy shutting down all my shopping windows when he gets on the computer to make way for football ones! I was hoping you were joking and if you weren't, I was glad we we're in different hospitals!!

VintageGardenia · 17/06/2008 09:27

No you must have missed my sad little mention of my M&S bag for life cotton shopper .

VintageGardenia · 17/06/2008 09:27

It is one of the funky lime green ones though! [smile}

dizzydixies · 17/06/2008 09:28

no no Hazie - its just an adversion to it being in the house

VG be careful re disposable knickers in glove compartment, what if dp stumbled upon them and thought you were having an affair [wink}!!!!

hazie very impressed with all your flat pack talents, I hate it all but also hate dh doing it as convinced he's not doing it right and I would do a better job - you can imagine from that how it turns out in our house

do you not have a Monsoon near you in Aberdeen? remind me when the wedding is again? that dress is lovely, I think I just have an adversion to spending that amount of cash for it only to be worn once, I would go up and raid my wardrobe BUT I think you could possible pitch my clothes and use them to sleep 6 in

right - this isn't getting my ironing done - someone give me a stern stare please lol

VG am not convinced its actual snoring he has iyswim but is still conjested from this horrible cold/virus thing - I've already got him on horse sized vitamin C and echinecea so I think if I approach him with that he'll move out to the shed

not a bad idea then

VintageGardenia · 17/06/2008 09:32

If I were having an affair I don't think I'd be conducting it in disposable knickers! When I used the term I was not referring to these!!!!

dizzydixies · 17/06/2008 09:38

ROFL!!!!!

VintageGardenia · 17/06/2008 09:39

Then you'll have your DH and your pram in the shed!! Perhaps not.

Have I posted this site already, maybe, maybe not, but I am just ordering the Cherry Bomb set, dammit. It's a nursing bra but very pretty.

PetitFilou1 · 17/06/2008 09:41

Hello, supposed to be working but just catching up. Blimey you lot move fast! (Waves to everyone who has waved to me)

Gigglegirl I had a friend who had cholestasis with her first ds and she had an induction - it was all fine, just a bit fast and intense (and probably not a good idea to eat a large pizza just before hand...) Thought I was mad having three in five years, you are definitely mad having four!

Buckets Keep that baby in there. I sympathise with wanting to get it out though.

dizzy lol at two boob tubes worn as shorts (they would be crotchless so would your dh go for that )?

sazzles that's life with a Dr. I think VG also knows what I mean, living with a barrister (haven't got that wrong have I VG?)

My belly button has well and truly popped whoever was asking!

Am I the only one having a homebirth then and therefore not concentrating on packing a bag (although it says I should)? Do I get a medal if it works? (Just kidding you all get a medal )

oohh VG I love the hotmilk stuff but am holding off getting measured for a few more weeks and then shall indulge on the credit card again!

petit am not allowed a home birth as I don't seem to do things simply but am hoping after seeing consultant tomorrow he'll let me try for a VBAC and if so I'll be at home as long as possible and in for as short a time as possible - very at your home birth though

am not even going to mention the word crotchless to dh

HazieDazieandBaby · 17/06/2008 09:44

VG, I totally agree with dizzy about the knickers in the glove compartment! Also, they may give him ideas too soon ater the birth, with them being so sexy and everything! And I think your actual bag idea is a good one as they can be used again for your shopping. I don't know what I'll do with my bags afterwards, probably carry all the baby's stuff around I suppose! It has wheels and a handle, could make some sort of harness for the dog to pull it around after us maybe...?

There's a Monsoon in the Bon Accord centre dizzy but it doesn't seem to sell anything remotely similar to what's on their internet site - grr! The new dress is about the same price as the previous one and I was a bit about the price too, but DH said that if it stopped me bursting into floods of tears on the day then it would be fine. I have this habit of buying something and when it gets to the day and I get dressed, I suddenly hate it and have nothing else in my wardrobe - the problem's got worse with pregnancy as it takes so long to find anything nice in the first place that I've no hope of getting anything at short notice! The wedding's on the 6th July so still have a couple of weeks! (Where's the panic emoticon when you need it!)

Sazzles just give me your address for the sat nav and I'm there! Mind you, maybe not a great idea as I'm off work with a dodgy stomach and 1. I don't want to pass it on and 2. I think it would take me a few months to get there with all the toilet stops!

PetitFilou1 · 17/06/2008 09:44

VG I want that bra too - can you let me know what the fit is like? Elle Macpherson are hopeless on me for example.

VintageGardenia · 17/06/2008 09:46

No you're right on that one pf!

Re. home birth, I am so divided on this. Part of me would absolutely love one and part of me thinks home would be stressful, but that's because my house is manic and I can just imagine the whole thing happening to a soundtrack of confused, barking/whining dogs, the phone ringing, the cat weeing in the fireplace, DS asking me to make him toast and spaghetti hoops, etc etc. At least in hospital the atmosphere will be controlled.

But in an imaginary world where the house was empty and perfect I think giving birth at home would be magic. Are you having a pool?

dizzydixies · 17/06/2008 09:47

hazie if you're coming through on the 22nd we could go to the monsoon in dundee or St andrews if you'd like?

am right there with you on the dodgy tum today too

PetitFilou1 · 17/06/2008 09:47

sazzles lol no, what brings a 'touch of glamour to night feeds* is employing a maternity nurse who does it for you ala the celebs. We can but try though!

Right better do some work before my boss rings up and finds out I'm not doing any - speak to you later!

VintageGardenia · 17/06/2008 09:47

A very hollow lol at touch of glamour to nighttime feeds!!!

PetitFilou1 · 17/06/2008 09:49

VG I have thought about a pool but they take 3/4 hour to fill up (did do the pool with ds and was vg) - just not sure I'll have time! They is always the bath though - it is jacuzzi stylee so there is room - actually bloody uncomfortable for anything BUT labouring in really

I really am going to go and work now (she says)

VintageGardenia · 17/06/2008 09:50

Better get some work done too,

Am ordering from here as hotmilk oddly don't seem to have online ordering

Am bit about the name HotMilk! But will report on quality and fit, and whether any touch of glamour noticed.

Talk later lassies.

HazieDazieandBaby · 17/06/2008 09:52

PMSL at the knickers VG! My mate and I actually found those in her mum's room when we were about 15! They freak me out a bit now! I'm loving the Hot Milk undies btw, but can't purchase due to my 32G sizing which no-one seems to design nice bras for! Or if they are nice, then they're really expensive.

My belly button seems to have a corner sticking out! I didn't think that could happen since belly buttons are round! Do they have corners???

readyforbed · 17/06/2008 09:55

VG - if this snoringcure works i will love you forever!

Totally empathise with the comments -

"My husband has always refused to believe his snoring could possibly be as bad as I claim, and there was no question of him ever consenting to nasal dilators, much less the surgeon's knife."

I have seriously considered recording him just so that i can prove i am not being overdramatic!

Not so sure about the knickers though...

Hazie, gorgeous gorgeous dress.

Just had an email from a friend in Australia who is due on 16th (will invite her to join) - she gets 6 weeks paid pre-maternity leave - how am I over that?! Don't even want to ask her what she gets as mat leave, might make me cry...

Expectant · 17/06/2008 09:55

Just been most annoyed by rubbish employers. Am supposed to get a baby gift up to $250 (about 80/90 pounds) but as I have already told them I'm not coming back after maternity leave (see earlier ranting post about rubbish m-leave and having to come back full time after 3 months) apparently I can't have one. I suppose it makes sense just don't really see why they can't buy it now (I'm not handing in my notice till 1 July). After all I could have taken maternity leave and handed in my notice part way through and not come back but I was up front with them as I may want to come back in the future so it is easier for me when we eventually move back to the UK. Grrr.

HazieDazieandBaby · 17/06/2008 09:57

Aww, thanks for offering dizzy! The new one I've ordered is due this week, so if that one doesn't work then I might take you up on that. I hope you have your patience dial on high that day! Oh and here's the stern stare you wanted , now get on with that ironing!!!
