EEC · 13/06/2008 18:13

can we change the subject please?!

pigleychez · 13/06/2008 18:30

hehe
Ill change the subject for you EEC as its not bringing the nicest image into my mind.

DH has decided that with the new furniture that the LCD we have in the bedroom is too small. He now wants a 32"! Please agree with me that that is just tooo big!

RUMPEL · 13/06/2008 18:40

Evening All,

me to re the patience scenario - DD has been doing my head right in today argggggg!!!!!
Poor wee soul has sore teeth = constipation = back on the lactulose = gurning/crying/needing constant attention = my head about to implode! Have left DH to deal with her for 15 mins while I grab some me time upstairs - can hear her gurning though

SWEETKITTY - P+T is great lovely apple green, have left Dh to attach the mudguards. The handle is a great (adjustable) height for us - we are both fairly tall and DD fits well enough in it. She is 95cm tall. Not loads of room for her head but should be fine for a good while. I would take the DDs and try one if I were you - too much money to spend if you are unsure. I went to Auchenharvie in 5th or 6th year to do higher anatomy, physiology and health - Mr Gray. Is your second name Peden? I went to school with a Lynn Peden - I am sure she was form West Kilbride though.

LIBRA - qwe were in Kuwait from 76 - 80 - my Dad worked for BP - I loved living there and I still adore Arabic food, especially the cakes - baklava

Re Names

I like Fabian and Yann but not so keen on the others. One of my Mummy?s on my DDs Mummy club called her newest DS Edward. I remember reading on one of the name threads about someone who called their son Teddy and their second name was Bear ? how cruel! Bethany Grace is beautiful. Like Milo and Miles and Jamie, LOVE Noah ? we would have gone for that but one of DDs nursery pals is called that, like Nathan too but can be a bit camp IYKWIM Euan, Lewis and Cameron ? too common in Scotland now I think. Love Matt ? doesn?t go with our second name though.

I love Logan too ? we considered that.

We have chosen Poppy for a girl ? I would love Saffron but am not allowed, and we are currently arguing about middle names. I want to keep all children equal, DD has a middle name so want this one to have one too ? I like Scarlet but Dh doesn?t so I suggested Fern or Skye but he is being a pig ? I said it is me doing all the hard work (and lets face it it will be me who registers bubba too) so I am going to give her a middle name whether he likes it or not!! If it is a boy then Calvin Thomas (Thomas is family name going way back) Dh not too keen but seeing as he hasn?t made any effort to come up with an alternative in the past 4 months ? tough Although I do like Travis too ? but I kinda feel that I have bonded already with Poppy/calvin IYKWIM.

I love Daisy too. We have a cat called Mille after Aprillia RSVR Mille motorbike ? all our cats are called after motor bikes.

Didn?t realise that they supply episiotomy scissors in a home birth kit I am seriously hoping they are not needed by any of us - I was really worried about that with DD but thankfully managed to push her out before they intervened (with the help of my Mum).

We are going to inflate the birthing pool tomorrow to see how it is!

Home baked bread = YUMMY! I adore bread ? so does DD, nowt better than a big doorstep of bread with butter and raspberry jam
Today I have had 2 Empire biccies and am seriously considering a third with a cup of tea and book in bed when DD is settled! snort snort piggy!

TWINKLE ? where are you?

sweetkitty · 13/06/2008 18:40

whoops sorry pigley (SK gives pigley a big hug)

men and TVs will never understand it, I think ours is DPs 4th baby.

OP posts:
RUMPEL · 13/06/2008 18:47

PIGLEY - My Dh is not allowed a TV in our room - although at the mo he has his own room and LCD on the wall think it is 32" the one downstaris is HUGE over 40". He has a thing about multiple Amps, dvds, etc etc and all the cables have to be tidy and in special wee cable runs - he loves nowt more than to spend about 3-4 hours tidying up cables - ARGGGGGGG! In fact he is so excited as he is waiting on a new sheld unit to arrive for the conservatory and he is positivley desperate to spend hours putting in the CD, amp, ipod attachments and tidying up all the cables!

pigleychez · 13/06/2008 18:48

Dont worry SK....

I did know qabout that previously, just rather worry/think about that when/if needed. Fingers crossed not.

The prude in me is showing again!

Think ive been abit too active today as im knackered and my right hand side hurts
Plus baby hasnt stopped wriggling and its movements are BIG! which doesnt help.

catec · 13/06/2008 18:49

I had a look into it CilC and apparently I need to be on indefinite leave to remain (which I can't get for another year as have only been here 4 years). Were you on ILR? Would be great if she could get a British Passport.

pigleychez · 13/06/2008 18:52

Rumpel- We have a 42" plasma downstairs so have managed to compromise on a 26/8" one as we dont even watch it that much.

My DH also loves all his wires... the loft is full of various boxes of scarts and cables... good job i cant get up there or i would of thrown them all out!
Men hey!

catec · 13/06/2008 19:05

Rumpel LOL my DP is also a technology/cable maniac. He has boxes of cables all sorted into goodness knows what. When we were flying back from holiday once he got stopped and had full search because all the cables looked so dodgy on xray! Mind you it is brilliant having computer hooked up to telly screen and stereo etc etc.

Jut looked up what Empire biscuits are -yum!

JODIEhavingababy · 13/06/2008 20:00

What are Empire Biscuits???

I love the name Noah, and wanted it for this LO for about 5 mins, until, again, our surname came to play, Noah Ward sounds like No Award..... We have such a pants surname, should have married someone else, (I'm sure Noah would have gone nicely with Pitt or Clooney)!

Thinking about Monkey24 again today I hope she is OK.....

Donut Love Logan aswell, and I hope your OK, mums eh! I think we've all had some sort of problem or other with them (Some bigger than others!)

Minkus thanks for those suggestions, I can't wait now... We live in South Staffs but it's near North Birmingham, don't worry about Sunday Lunch though as I don't know what route we'll take home.. We'll find somewhere!

Sorry if I've forgotton anyone....... I probably have.....

DonutMum · 13/06/2008 20:33

Ooh, empire biscuits - are they the ones sandwiched together with jam and then icing on the top? Yum. I LOVE those. Will be making chocolate balls tomorrow - watch out, I'll post the recipe and then you'll all be done for!

JODIEhavingababy · 13/06/2008 21:19

They look yummy! Just had dinner followed by a Mars Icecream. Watched the Last episode of Entourage, fab.

The other biscuits, I don't think I've seen tham anywhere here.

CilC · 13/06/2008 21:24

eeeehhhhhhhh at scissors!

Donut, sorry about your Mum. My aim is to be nothing like mine at all to my children!

Sooo ready to drop!

JODIEhavingababy · 13/06/2008 21:27

Ohh I bet you are Cilc, Not being easy for you has it??? How many weeks are you now?

cass66 · 13/06/2008 21:29

Not seen empire biscuits but tunnock wafers are a family favourite. different packaging down here, red and gold shiny wrappers.

good footy match, holland v france. edge of seat stuff!!

finally finished work, but still have to look after the girls and do the school/playgroup run etc. less than 4 weeks to go!!

just discovered freecycle. might have an empty attic soon!!

Cass

CilC · 13/06/2008 21:39

Whoops pressed send before I was ready...probably a sign that I blabbb too much!
I was on a Ancestral Visa, but now I recall, DH was on ILR.
Empire biscuits do look rather nice . Love Tunnocks, they now have dark chocolate ones....mmmmmm
I have a thing for the malty moo biscuits at the moment though....greeeaaaaaaaattttttttttttttt with a cuppa! mmmmmm

Before ribgate I was going through a baking phase and made over 100 anzac biscuits ( i felt they were sort of healthy as they have oats in them). They are still in my freezer, but I have gone off them.

I too have married an IT, cable, tv, xhox et. al Nerd of a husband. As I type he is trying to encourage me to play a game of something as his latest game has multi-player....as if!!! I always get thrashed and lose. My DD3 even beats me...

CilC · 13/06/2008 21:39

Jodie - 4 weeks yippee!

hubarbspong · 13/06/2008 21:41

sweetkitty · 13/06/2008 21:44

Me again DP watching end of football.

pigley - honestly try not to stress too much about it, I know it's hard because it's the unknown factor, everyone keeps saying to me "oh you have had 2 quick births this one will be easy under an hour etc" but I don't think like that theres so many unknowns with labour, size of baby, position, how quick you dilate etc but chances are you will be fine it's what our bodies are designed to do. I tore pretty badly with DD1 had a tonne of stitches but TBH I never felt it at the time, was out of it when they were stitching me up (just kept looking over at DP gazing at DD1 a memory I will keep forever and is bringing tears to my eyes as I type this) and the healing wasn't bad either. I think in the 70s they used to enema, shave and cut every woman

Rumpel - you made me spit juice over the keyboard, it was Mr Grayston and he was my biology teacher for 4 years (I was a complete Biology swot did it right up to CSYS) your 2 years older than me right so you would have been there same time as me , can't believe your DD is 95cms, DD1 is 98 and DD2 90 so I'm thinking she will be fine in P&T, she's already wanting to walk everywhere so am thinking we will be down to a single soon. Am getting boring black though DP refuses to buy bright pink!

poledra - I agree half a pound a week they reckon at this stage does this mean if you have a 10 pounder it's already 8lbs at this stage???

Mummywannabee - complete emotional breakdowns are required at this stage, better out than in.

We have the huge wall mounted plasma thing in the living room as well, TBH I was a bit when DP got it but it's fab when you have DC. With the old TV they used to smear it with everything and snog the teletubbies so I was always cleaning it. When it's up on the wall it's out the way from danger.

I have probably said this before but the day after DD2 was born we had to go to hospital for her check so on the way back we stop at Asda and DP spies this bargain 32" TV and buys it but cannot get it in the back of the car so I have to drive home and he gets a cab, the day after I have given birth, men eh! Apparently it was for me to watch in bed whilst BFing

Empire Biscuits mmm love them so does DP, can I have a recipe Rumpel? I've ordered some Tunnocks Caramel Wafers this week too.

I am honestly loving all the names posted so far and even Tjuice who stole Elodie would have been my choice but DP wasn't keen

Right what are the chances someone else will have a baby this weekend???

sweetkitty · 13/06/2008 21:52

oh twinkle you poor thing

OP posts:
mummypig · 13/06/2008 21:54

well I'm not Scottish but I do like Tunnocks

Boys and their toys, eh? Dp has just bought a Roomba because he thought 'it might help with the cleaning'. The boys were transfixed - they stayed in one room for about 40 minutes just watching it whizzing around, lol. Although we have two set-top boxes, a medium sized plasma screen, a Pure digital radio and a digital photoframe it is all down to dp. I am definitely what is considered a 'late adopter' - if it were left to me we would still be listening to cassettes and watching a telly with dials on .

Oh and when I was pg with ds2 dp bought me a whole load of PS2 games... as if I was ever going to have enough time to play them!! (I do have to admit to being a bit of a PS addict pre-kids though.)
