i have greated a profile page and put on a picture

Spink · 16/06/2008 19:01

Tink & Littlesquirt - yay!!
are you feeling a bit more relaxed into this whole thing now? Ours was fine too and I am! Good heartbeat, and some breakdancing moves (dh reckons). little pip is 38mm, which is big for the date according to LMP but we've decided to stick to it - as it was they said my midwife got the date wrong, and I should be 12th Jan not 10th, based on my LMP. I was a bit surprised actually when mw had said the 10th, but thought she must be right! The sonographer said it is not uncommon for mws to add or take off a couple of days?!

..and breathe. so, 20 week scan on the 27th Aug. We're not going to do the nuchal fold scan but actually Aug doesn't seem that long to wait.

I have said goodbye to my jeans. Work trousers seem to be lower-waisted so I am enjoying a substantial overhang and just about still comfy. Tracky bottoms as soon as I get home though! Maternity wear is what I hated about last time...

Spink · 16/06/2008 19:02

Tink - I can't see your profile. I'm logged in and everything - any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Madamejaffa · 16/06/2008 19:05

Tink....go back into your profile maker and check that you have selected Public viewing/make my profile public. You should see the little gift tag appear to the right of your name after a post if your profile is available for mners to see.

largeginandtonic · 16/06/2008 19:32

Congrats on the lovely scan Squirt! Fab news!

Mrs JB what are you doing lurking here...

MsSparkle · 16/06/2008 19:35

Evening all,

The scan went fine, everything is healthy and normal for this stage!

I am a little confused though because on my notes they have put EDD from scan - 2nd Jan (making me 11+3 weeks) and then they have put EDD from LMP - 29th Demember (making me 12+0 weeks) >>confused!

Nellybell · 16/06/2008 19:36

Hello,
I'm glad all the scans went well today
We have our nuchal scan on 25th June and I'm off to get bloods done tomorrow.
I just got a text off a friend and apparently my mate at work who is 32 weeks had to go into hospital today as she thinks her waters may have broken. I hope she's ok. Does anyone know if this means birth has to happen or can they keep it in for a bit longer?

LittleSquirt · 16/06/2008 19:43

Yay, I am so happy ALL our scans went well!!!

Nellybell - I believe once the waters have broken, the baby needs to be delivered within 48H, or something like that. I think it is because of the risk of infection.

Madamejaffa · 16/06/2008 20:30

Ok, I'm broody I'm waiting to see those lovely little 12 week beans jumping around!

I may be back though

ooh, fourlittlefeet, how old is she? how exciting!! ds (he's 15 months) has been teasing us with the walking thing, little tinker. He'll take 8 or so steps if dh launches him towards me or vice versa but otherwise is clamped on a finger!! it's been like that for 2 weeks now..

Nellybell, like fourlittlefeet says, I think it depends how much water has gone. Waters keep replenishing so if just a bit has leaked she could be ok as long as she rests up. If they have properly gone, I think the NICE guidelines say 96 hours or so and if labour hasn't started, induction is the way they'll want to go, because the baby isn't protected and there is more chance of infection. I think. Hopefully she'll hang in there but if not, 32 weeks isn't necessarily bad. wishing her luck

fourlittlefeet · 16/06/2008 20:48

13 months spink. very very exciting. then again, this stage can go for ages... we shall see.

those of you who weren't worried about having two close in age don't read this thread. Hilarious but disgusting so also not for during dinner

flf, you do realise you've let slip another clue, don't you?

ds is just a few days older than your dd, and has been taking a few steps when he feels like it then falling over for a couple of weeks now, it's been as many as 7. But then when he's after something he crawls or cruises anything he can hold on to, it's faster for him still.

elkiedee · 16/06/2008 22:09

Ugh, thanks flf, that link you posted is not recommended to anyone affected by nausea at the moment.

tinkhasabean · 17/06/2008 08:39

thanks ff i have put a description by pic now

Periwink · 17/06/2008 09:54

Congrats to all who had their scans yesterday - it is reassuring and so exciting to see the baby's arms and feet moving!

happyathome · 17/06/2008 10:15

hi all,
hope you're ok.My illness has died down a fair bit lately, feel almost normal!Thank goodness for that.BBS also still large and a bit sore, but the excruciating pain has now gone. Can let DH near them again.Nausea gone too, woofed down cornflakes today.Still zitty faced and bloated 6 month looking tum.
Still don't feel bonded with Snugs and the glimmer of excitement still not returned.Still hoping it might spark up at the scan.Midwife Thursday, then hopefully she might get me a scan.I'm like you FLF,of those who has had scans.Feel like i'm 'behind' somehow, even though i'm obviously at the same stage as some of you.
Glad they all went well though.Congrats to everyone.tink, that picture is fab!.Thanks for putting it on,because,i think i may be 9+2(mw may change it?).So i can see what a 9 week scan of mine might have looked like.Made me realize,my fetus(yes girls, read up it's official at 8 weeks, not an embryo anymore..thought it was 12?!),actually might have legs now and move.Somehow, still think it may be more embryo-like and i've got it wrong...time has actually gone more quickly lately(especially the last 3 weeks).
Hope you're feeling better today iwould.I'm all ears if you want to talk.
bye
happy and Snugs x

Aniyan · 17/06/2008 10:34

Hi ladies! Hope you're all feeling okay - v jealous of those of you who've had scans so far - feels like it will be forever till I get mine - not been sent a date yet.

Handy Hint of the Day - for those of you who (like me) are too small yet for maternity trousers but too big for their usual ones - I've been looping a hair bobble through the buttonhole of my jeans, then hooking it over the button - it's nice and stretchy and feels a bit 'safer' than a safety pin .

You have to put the bobble through the buttonhole, then sort of loop it back through itself so it's fastened on, then hook the loop you're left with over the button, IYSWIM - which I doubt as I'm not explaining it very well

MrsMagpie · 17/06/2008 12:21

Popped a button yesterday trying to get into my best work trousers. I can't fit into my jeans and i feel horribly bloated. I still think it's too early to go and get maternity stuff but i'm rapidly running out of wardrobe options. Has anyone else buckled yet?

buckles · 17/06/2008 13:16

No not out of normal clothes, but tummy very bloated- is this normal? Look like I have a bump but only 9 weeks. Also my nausea has settled in the last couple of days and been left ravenous- again is this normal. Didn't enjoy being vomity but making me slightly nervous now that it has gone!

Upwind · 17/06/2008 14:33

Thanks for the bobble tip! I can't close any trousers or jeans and was left mortified today as my zip now refuses to stay up

Periwink · 17/06/2008 14:35

Buckles - I am hungry all the time, every second of every day, I have to practice strong will power at the moment or else I will end up the size of a house!!!!!

MrsMagpie - I have not buckled yet ...... but also feeling bloated.

elkiedee · 17/06/2008 17:47

Periwink, I wouldn't worry too much about willpower. I would eat when you feel hungry, carrying a baby is hard work (before and after birth), if it makes you feel happier then look for healthy snacks.
