Poor I would definately take both sets of results to your GP and ask their advice, its really bizarre that they are different, you will only worry if you leave it until the next scan and that isn't good for you or the babies.

PBH i have braved maternity clothes for the first time today and i am sooo comfortable, feel a bit like i am wearing a tent, but so comfortable and DH assures me i look lovely, obviously pregnent but lovely!

Oh yeah.... just had a thought, for any of you in or near the london area, did you know there is a baby show on at earls court on 17-19th Oct...... I figured that is perfect timing for trying out buggies etc and potentially picking up some bargains so have just booked tickets

Poor - congrats on all being well at your scan - I agree with the others, you should at least contact your GP to find out whether there is one placenta or two! There is a big difference!

I am very excited - I just received the Isabella Oliver clothes I ordered online as a treat to myself after my scan on Monday! The packaging was gorgeous and I love the clothes (I ordered some pregnancy jeans and two tops) - now I need to get showered so I can try them on!

Hi all! Great news on all the scan. I've been looking at all the pics, We're really having babies!!!

chocs I'm so cross about what your sonographer said! I'm a big girl and always have been and i think in my current emotional state i would have swung for him!

I'm 14+2 and most definately popped! I was worried at first that i'm just turning into an even bigger lard bucket but there is no jelly in there and it won't even go away when i lay down now! I've got two pairs of mat trousers and am finally comfy.

I had to put up with my Grandmother boasting that even at 8 months no one could tell she was pregnant and in the same sentence how big and fat my own mother got! You'd never guess she's my paternal Grandmother would you. I'm just going to wear what comfortable and go with it. It's not like i can do anything about it now!

And your grandmother's point is?

maybe she is friends with my sonographer?

Couldn't care less really (she says whilst still fuming!). She's already wound me up because she doesn't approve of me going back to work after Beanie is born. She thinks i'm being selfish. Also have committed the most awful of sins and am not getting married!!! shock horror!! I didn't help matters either when she asked rather peevishly 'where are you going to put this child?' I told her i'd clear out a bottom drawer .

It's a shame we can't all be perfect 1950s housewives with a talent for baking and cleaning with husbands that keep us in the manner we have become accustomed to!

Sorry ladies that was very ranty but boy do I feel better!

well, am delighted to report there is a very happy bean in there!!!! Also got a reassuring nuchal measurement, but have to wait until next weds for blood results.

also got put back two days to 16th Jan (very odd, midwife put me forward to 20th, I think its 18th and now this). Can anyone shed any light on this?

Lol mrs Magpie, my relationship with MIL was fantastic until I had DD, now its grrrr. Babies just bring out the worst in some people! (... not me, obviously)

I saw the midwife today and i heard babys heartbeat I don't have to see her until 27th August now and she said my 20 week scan will be a couple of weeks before i see her again!

It's so strange to think the 20 week scan will be just over a month away! It seems 2 minutes ago i was thinking about the 12 week scan.

I have been feeling really down the last few days. I am quite a shy person and find it hard to talk to people. I feel ignored all the time, i think it's because i don't put myself out there enough. Either that or i am just someone not to be noticed

MsSparkle - has anything happened to make you feel like this? Don't worry, you do matter to us!!! Big hugs.

MrsMagpie - you made me laugh out loud. Good for you to be able to take all this with a pinch of salt and I loved the fact that you told her you would clear some space in a bottom drawer for the baby! So funny!!

flf - that is so spooky, I had exactly the same as you! I know exactly when I ovulated (and it was on day 14 of my cycle) so I know for a fact that I should be due on 18th Jan. However, my Midwife put me down as 20th Jan (according to her own midfiwey calendar ) but the sonographer said 16th at my last TWO scans. I have given up the fight and I'm going for 16th now!

Hi - had my scan today, was brilliant! All well, baby moving around and walking upsidedown on the wall! Very funny. DH came along with DS, never occurred to me that they might not be let in but nobody said anything - not that DS knows what is going on anyway.

And very low risk on the nuchal so I am so relieved now! And just had a celebratory mint cornetto...

Chocsolot - I'm going to get my maternity clothes out now! And I'm sure mine are bigger sizes that yours (though maybe a bit shorter on the leg?)

hi everyone! just been for my scan too - congrats to everyone else on the great scan news!

it was AMAZING. I am 13.2 and the sonographer could see the 4 heart chambers, the bladder, liver, kidneys, spine - I had no idea this was possible. It feels so real now - I am super excited

Congrats scared1976, it is amazing to see! I was 12 weeks 6 days at my first scan, but we couldn't see as many organs as that - not the bladder, liver or kidneys anyway. But it was still pretty clear, he had such long legs!

FLF - am very pleased for you and relieved and also now very intrigued as to who you really are! Elkiedee you've got me going now - well I don't think you are on my post-natal...

... my favourite recent quote from MIL was "You know if you didn't buy prepared foods you wouldn't have to sort through so much recycling. You really make life hard for yourself not cooking from fresh every night." I wouldn't mind but we usually have about one ready meal a week and I cook from scratch most nights. I would love to tell her one day "If you didn't have so much free time on your hands you wouldn't feel the need to poke your nose into other people's business!" But she is a lovely woman really, just completely misguided when it comes to 'a woman's place in the home'.

Lenni, only just put L's birthday on there, before it just said DC2. Anyway, have now outed myself as the mnetter previously known as BB so there we are. Won't bore you all with it. Who else on this thread was incognito?

Scared, glad you had such a good scan. In a way I think it would have been easier without DD there (take note all of you first timers, who will become second timers ) as we could have paid a bit more attention. As it was, I was thinking... oh thank god its there, and its moving, its there, its moving. you get the gist!

FLF, that was all I could think at my scan the first time round - dp saw more than I could but I was just relieved that it was real. At least I got that reassurance at my first scan, and although it was too early to tell much more we saw a nice woman who understood I think that what I did need to hear "there's definitely a baby there, and I can see its heart beating"!
