shanster I didn't know I was pregnant until about 8 wks, I put my symptoms down to jetlag and a potential tummy bug picked up whilst on business in China. Whilst out there i indulged in lots of sushi and sashimi and sampled a few local delicacies(trying to be polite but who knows what was in it!) also drank like a fish and smoked like a train. When i found out that Beanie had been hiding in there all the time i went into panic mode and had a very emotional heart to heart with Gp and was terrified to tell anyone because i was convinced that I would lose it.

Since then the overwhelming response has beeen not to worry. Our mothers generation didn't have these restrictions and there are ladies that do an awful lot worse during their pregnancies and go on to have perfect babies. I'm not saying i'm not worried about the damage i have done but this Baby seems pretty determined to me! So don't worry about the occasional slip, trust yourself.

Hi there everyone, been a bit off the radar after a couple of weeks hols but just trying to catch up.
I'm 13 weeks too and definitely worried about the weight gain. It's not that I mind getting a bump, but my pg book says that in week 14 I 'might' notice a 'gentle swelling just above your pubic bone' when the reality is my entire torso looks rounded and I haven't been able to do up any of my trousers for three weeks, so i'm convinced its mostly fat. Have always been the kind of person who could eat anything and not put weight on (annoying I know)so think maybe my slowing metabolism is putting the scuppers on that. Am back to work on Tuesday so will have to suck in my tummy for a couple of hours until I can tell my boss the news.
Good luck for all the scans this week.

fourlittlefeet · 06/07/2008 10:26

Am sitting here with fingers (& legs) crossed. Do you think I can stay still until weds? Thanks for all the sensible words; LG&T I do remember, it is difficult not to worry isn't it? I've also been and read every last thread that contains the words brown discharge. nice. and sometimes very sad. but usually ok. anyway, heres hoping.

DP is being very supportive as always and doing all the cooking and DIY (we stripped all the walls in our living room last week and need to prep them ahead of new paint/wallpaper). Sadly, I'm just sitting on the sofa reading the paper . I suppose there are some compensations.

I remember the RLP from last time; really uncomfortable. Hope it passes soon.

Have a lovely Sunday all

Hi all

Its been a while for me, had my scan last week it was fantastic, such a clear picture healthy heart beat what more can a mum to be ask for.

Im 13 weeks tuesday and still vomiting . My due date is Jan 13th.

May I recommend to you all if you havent tryed it aquanatal classess, it is fantastic for keeping fit and baby loves it to, as soon as you hit the water all your sickness feelings go away you learn excerises to prepare you for birth whilst keeping fit.

Well I wish you all health, and I guess ill have to add my name to the list now I no my final due date

iwouldgoouttonight · 06/07/2008 19:51

Four little feet - fingers and legs crossed for you - I know how horrible it is just waiting. I've not had time to read over all the thread so I'm sure others have given you advice, but just thought I'd add that when I was pregnant with DS I had two or three lots of bleeding/discharge, sometimes red and sometimes brown and the doctor got me and appt for an emergency scan (well I say emegency, I still had to wait three days and four hours in a waiting room!) but everything was fine. This time I'm worrying because I haven't had any bleeding, because the doctors were all so insistent that it was normal last time!

There is always something to worry about isn't there? My new one is that I can suddenly do my jeans up again. I shouldn't complain but after only about 5 weeks I couldn't do the top button up, and now I suddenly can again. I am worrying that the baby has disappeared! Has anyone else had this? Is it something to do with the baby moving position or something? I'm still eating just as much so its definitely not that!

Good luck to everyone having scans tomorrow.

LenniEd · 06/07/2008 20:17

Also not been aroudn this weekend - DD teething and not had much sleep. Hoping for a better night tonight.

FLF Hope you are ok and getting plenty of rest. Will be thinking of you.

Iwouldgoout I fit into my jeans until this week and hadn't fit into them for the first couple of weeks. Think it was all bloating at first and then now is actual baby. Although have also gained weight - unfortunately that's part of the deal with being pregnant though.

iwouldgoouttonight · 06/07/2008 20:40

I meant I had to wait for three days for the scan and then four hours in the waiting room (not three days and four hours in the waiting room - I'm sure the NHS isn't quite that bad yet!)

Ginni · 06/07/2008 22:42

Whoops, just noticed this was moved to a new thread, I posted on the other so thought i'd copy across to here:

Hi everyone, i'm due on 2nd Jan according to the Sonographer. It's my first, unplanned as I was on the pill, and he/she will be mixed caucasian/Jamaican, and it's looking like i'm going to be a single mum as daddy isn't reacting well to the pregnancy so far. Anyone in a similar boat?

My morning sickness, luckily, passed a couple of weeks ago, now I feel fine. I haven't seen the midwife yet, due on 15th July, and it's be a relief to finally talk to a professional about this!

elkiedee · 06/07/2008 22:49

I'm quite freaked out by weight gain. I'm quite overweight to start with but due to sickness/acid/going off lots of foods completely (especially after throwing up)/loss of appetite first time round, I hardly put on any weight and a lot of people thought I'd lost weight during the pregnancy. This time looks like it could be a bit different so far, and last time I didn't even get weighed until 12 weeks. Ah well.

elkiedee · 06/07/2008 22:51

Welcome Ginni

tinkspregnantwithnumber2 · 07/07/2008 08:36

morning scan in an hour

mrsmontano · 07/07/2008 09:42

hey Ginny i couldve practically written your post myself!!
i do have a child already tho, i'm a single mum. I was on the pill when i got pregnant with this one, no idea how it happened, certainly not planned. this baby's dad didnt react well AT ALL, but hopefully we are going to make a go of things now... but we wont be living together or anything so essentially i still consider myself a single mum. and my baby will also be mixed white/jamaican. I'm scared to death about how i'm going to cope, but also really excited to meet my new baby now.

I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and seeing the midwife for the first time, i'm actually looking forward to it... makes it all seem a bit more real. altho im sure im going to forget half the things ive been wanting to ask!

mrsmontano · 07/07/2008 09:43

hope your scan's going well tink

largeginandtonic · 07/07/2008 09:44

Good luck Tink!

Welcome Ginni, do you have support from your family? The baby will be gorgeous! I always wanted a chocolate baby, dh just does this

FLF how is it today? Still sat with feet up i hope?

I am sooo tired, the baby was up from 2 and my insomnia did not let me go back to sleep till after 6. I laid in bed listening to the wind howl and rain hammer thinking GO BACK TO SLEEP! So frustrating. Of course the baby will have a lovely long sleep later and i will not...

My jeans are still on with the hairband trick and a long top. I will reach biffa status by then end i always do

fymandbean · 07/07/2008 10:52

blergh I feel so so sick....

poorbuthappy · 07/07/2008 11:19

Tinks - keep us up to date!

Have my nuchal scan this evening!
Refusing to worry about it, just excited about seeing the beans again!

fymandbean - eat something, at least you have something to throw up!

Hope everyone is well this morning!

(MEL2005, just ordered a few books off internet!)

tinkspregnantwithnumber2 · 07/07/2008 11:19

hi all scan was great
have put pics on
saw waving and kicking a very active bean
put me forward 2 days so 12 wks plus 4 today

fourlittlefeet · 07/07/2008 11:28

Morning all

Thanks for the good wishes . All well so far today so fingers crossed. Still feel pregnant and for some reason this time round I've got really sensitive teeth; particularly noticable when I (finally) get to drink a cup of tea that is hot.

Thinking of you tink....

Welcome Ginni, hopefully we can give you lots of support over the next few months. A good friend of mine had the same thing with a Jamaican boyfriend. She found it very hard work, but immensely rewarding and her daughter is absolutely beautiful and a credit to her!

My weight is still fluctuating up and down by a kilo or so, though my stomach popped out about a month ago so is very difficult to hide! Already in maternity/fatwear .

LittleSquirt · 07/07/2008 11:32

Hi everyone

Welcome Ginny - I am in owe of you and MrsMontana for potentially facing having a baby on your own but still wanting to keep the baby, that's wonderful. I hope you both have friends and/or family nearby who will be able to help you.

Tink - I am thinking of you, hope your scan went well, let us know how it went when you can! x
My scan is at 3pm. Now worried the baby has disappeared too, although no particular reason to think this, just being scared after MC last year and general lack of ability to think straight due to pregnant brain

LittleSquirt · 07/07/2008 11:34

Tink - just saw your post and pics, wonderful wonderful news!!! So happy for you! x

fourlittlefeet · 07/07/2008 11:39
