Am keeping us in antinatal rather than in preganancy so newbies can find us! Have posted for tink on her thread.

morning

there definetly isnt anything better then holding them 4 the 1st time me and partner cried.
i had bad tering with dd1 having a consulation appointment to go through things @ about 20wks. dont want to tear again.
mel dont blame you wanting c-section i would with twins 2.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 04/07/2008 09:17

I think as much as I am looking forward to the birth, I am shitting it as well, not because of the pain etc. I can handle that, but DS2's labour from start to finish was about 2 hours, including the 4 mins pushing, am very worried that I'll go into labour with DH at work (he works all over the North of England so could be anything up to 4-5 hours away), DS1 could be at school, needing picking up, with no one to pick him up, DS2 would be here with me..... Oh well, bit late to be worried about it now!

The first time you hold your new baby, and be able to look at him/her, see their little nose and little fingers and toes, there is nothing that describes it

HeathersMummy · 04/07/2008 10:17

Morning
Just back from my scan and all is well with bump, they've given me a new due date of 31st Dec! Hope you don't mind if I still hang about though , I don't really want to move.
Scan has shown that I've a large fibroid on the outer wall of my uterus which radiographer says will probably cause some pain during preganancy. Will need to do some googling this afternoon to find out more! Also found out yesterday I have anti-C and anti-D antibodies in my blood (I'm rhesus neg) - so it looks like this pregnancy isn't going to be the plain sailing I'd hoped.
The baby is healthy though, so that's all that matters .
Take care all and enjoy your scans, there's nothing like seeing your dancing baby on the screen .

poorbuthappy · 04/07/2008 11:27

Morning ladies!

MEL2005 I'm leaning towards elective sunroof job for exactly the same reasons...but then I remember my recovery time after I had sugery to remove an ovarian cyst which was found during my 20week scan with DD and all I can think about is quite how bad I felt after that, compared to how I felt after delivering dd.

I really don't know how I'd cope with the recovery after the op with 3 kids in the house.

But obviously safety first - would probably be happy with the decision being taken away from me if you see what I mean?

Need to go and google about the nuchal thing if bloods don't work with twins! Why didn't anyone tell me this on wed??
Have my "find out if they're ID with same placenta etc scan" next Tuesday, could hte nuchal be done at the same time?

poorbuthappy · 04/07/2008 11:33

Just spoken to MW and we don't get nuchal scan on NHS - off to ring BUPA now, cos I know I will want this done!

Aniyan · 04/07/2008 11:36

Hi all,
Just editing the list as my scan this morning confirmed what I'd known since Weds night, really - no baby this time. Fortunately, it all looks fine for the future, so I hope to be on another thread some day soon.

Going to put my feet up now and let dp spoil me rotten for a while. All the best to you all,

Aniyan

Morning all

Thanks for the warm welcome. Really appreciate ur view on double buggies mel2005 that really helped.defo 1st choice MB. rrrayray cheers about telling me about the i-candy apple,I'll seek it out..(fingers crossed mw wil be in contact with you soon). but I guess the car boot will decide which buggy lol!

Elkiedee, yes my dd was born 24 May 2007 too, there will be 20months between them, as my estimated due date 22 jan.looks like you are the same, we must keep with trials & smiles of having children so close together!

Great news on the twins poorbuthappy as for pushchairs mrsmagpie, we spent £650 on a jane travel system ( DH liked the brake disc on it-DOH)! for DD.we use the pushcahir only for walks into town as we can't fit it in the car boot.the carseat it came with DD outgrew by 6-7months,should have lasted her to 18months so we ended up buying another carseat knowing it would only last her a few months as she wasn't old/big enough to have the next size up and we also brought another pushcahir to fit in the boot and a lightweight buggy for hols!!!! expensive mistake. my advice is to look around, when you have ur top 3-4 pushchairs go to a shop that will let you play with the pushchair including putting it in the boot of ur chair.

Only 5 days until scan, can't wait!!! haven't told work yet as only returned p/t last month

Aniyan - so sorry, take care...

MEL2005 - nuchal scan booked for Monday evening, very annoyed with situation. Only just managed to get in, only 6 days left to do the bloody thing in!

Anyway all sorted, so I will be forever grateful to you for telling me this.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You never know I may be able to return the favour 1 day.

Hope everyone else is ok, thanks for all the good wishes!!!

mel2005 · 04/07/2008 14:58

so sorry Aniyan, good luck for the future.

poor, my hospital dont do free nuchals for under 40s. but when you have twins the blood test doesnt work so they offer it to pregnant ladies with twins for free. you should compain to the hospital as they are not having to pay for your tripple test now and you should be offered an alternative (which is the nuchal). you can quote that the norfolk and norwich university hospital do it for free. i cant believe they didnt tell you, its the first thing they told me and booked me in quickly because of the time limits. i already knew a bit about the test as we had talked about paying for it when we thought it was a single baby
i would have paid for it had they not offered it to me as it did relax me quite a bit and it was nice seeing the little monkeys again.

mel2005 · 04/07/2008 15:19

oh and i got my copy of 'contented house with twins' book this moning. i have read half of it already and its great. i loved the 'contented little baby book' and got my first baby sleeping through the night from 6 weeks with the techniques. some people love it some hate it but it really works for me as i like to plan and i understand the thought behind it. basically if your baby needs ?ml of feed in 24 hours try and get it in them in your waking hours so they dont need to wake you in the night for a feed. you dont have to follow it strictly just the ideas. it is harder to follow if you solely breastfeed like my second(but my first my little boy rejected the boob so it was expressing and formula bottle feeds with him) its also harder when you have a young toddler to look after so it didnt happen with my second baby and she didnt sleep through untill i refused to breastfeed anymore at 15m. i will probably end up bottle feeding my twins as i just cant see how i will manage with two small children. i cant make them stay in for 6 months so i can feed the babies. i will be feeding on the go sometimes whilst running after my two monsters at the dino park or zoo.
oh and poor the other book i have read is 'twins and multiple births', its a bit more facts than feeling than the double trouble book. but i like to know the hard truths. i have got 'everything you need to know to have a healthy twin pregnancy' on the way so i will let you know what that ones like later. i am the saddest person on the planet (i am a teacher afterall) but i read at least 10 books before i had my first and i do like to know everything i am letting myself in for.

So sorry to hear that Aniyan good luck for the future.

Well i had a bit of bloody discharge yesterday morning and the day before, so was sent for a scan this morning. fully expected the worst as my sickness and everything sort of went away a couple of weeks ago.
Thankfully there appears to be a healthy baby in there! had no more bleeding since early yesterday morning either, so all looking good. i actually had the same thing happen when pregnant with my first child, the spotting i mean, but i was sick thru nearly the whole pregnancy then.

will try and put a scan pic on my profile in a minute.

moosemama · 04/07/2008 17:09

Hi

Just been scanning (excuse the pun) the thread and realised I didn't update my due date. I will be 14 wks tomorrow - due on 3rd Jan.

So sorry to hear your news Aniyan - all the best for the future.

NatalieJane I'm almost sure I've felt some movement as well - I did with DS2 at 14 wks and judging by how active this one was on the scan (sonographer said she'd never seen anything quite like it!) it seems like a possibility. I still keep telling myself its probably wind, but I've noticed it more after eating an ice lolly or drinking a really cold drink and know from experience that those are the two things that made both my other babies do a jig .

Been feeling a lot better since about 12.5 wks (at least I can eat now) but am still soooo exhausted all the time. I have been suffering from terrible insomnia and restless legs. I go to bed, fall asleep, wake up at 1 or 2 oclock and am awake for the rest of the night. Have just despatched Mum to the chemist for some Floradix, hoping that will sort me out.

Congratulations to everyone whose had their successful scans and double congratulations to mel2005 and poorbuthappy.

hi all

sorry to hear your news aniyan....

Saw the midwife today so got the first lot of bloods and form filling out of the way. Still 14 days to the scan but hey ho it'll come round soon enough!

Anyone else gone completely randy???? I did with my first too, I'd quite forgotten!

fourlittlefeet · 04/07/2008 19:04

Evening all. Check on randiness. My DP too tired LOL.

RG, my gap will be 20 months too so there will be three of us and my scan is on weds too. How exciting!!!

I've sort of started telling a few people tentatively in RL, but it feels really weird. Can't wait until I've made sure there is definitely something moving in there.

By the way, all the books say its too early, but I'm sure I've felt movement too. With #1 I felt her at 13.5 weeks, and this time the other night I'm sure I felt it. It doesn't feel like wind or digestion at all, more like when you shake a snowdome and you feel something bumping around in there, like a fizzing feeling. weird.

When did everyone else's tiredness go? I'm still absolutely shattered, but am expecting it to magically lift on sunday when I hit 12 weeks.

On the pram front, I bought a loola travel system. wonderful to have two flat car seats (the basinette is car safe too), the creatis is beautiful and makes a really sturdy pram, but... its heavy and wide, though does fold small for the back of the car. Also, the chassis is quite wobbly now. Anyway, after 3 months I only used my sling (which I'm only just stopping using as mini bump is in the way) and bought a lightweight Jane for travel on those days when only a buggy will do.

So... comments on loola would be fab it you live in the car, otherwise
