Hi

Couldn't see a Feb thread so thought I would start one as am so excited to get a faint but definately positive HPT.

Fertility friend estimates a due date of 4th Feb.

Unfortunately (or fortunately)am off this afternoon for a hen weekend in Barcelona the first holiday in at least a year and a half and can't drink. Ohh well will have to be the responsible adult..... Hence checking to see if up the duff before I went drowning myself in Sangria.

Hope to see some others on here when I get back!!! If anyone cares to join me?

does anyone else feel a bit like they have a permanent hangover???

How many people have you told or are you keeping it to yourself for now?

I've just booked an early scan for 8 weeks so that I can get some peace of mind as I'm so terrified of m/c....literally an hour before my first midwife appntmnt - they do those at 8weeks here, so that if it's bad news I don't have to go through all the bloodtest/chat about due dates.....I did it last time and felt better about it. Now I have to hang on til July 2nd....it's going to feel like forever.

Good luck to those of you having scans soon !

ruthmollymummy · 04/06/2008 10:25

phew, no probes, no intimate inspections, no urine test, no nothing! It was a bit of an anti-climax actually! But thats the letter sent away! It's official!

oh yes herbgarden, I feel so hungover. Thankfully dd is still has naps, so I can play on MN then sleep myself! I've told both sets of parents and my sisters but siblings-in-law don't know and no friends know - it's killing me!!

ChocolateEclair · 04/06/2008 17:02

hi ladies

I have also had a successful check with GP no scary probes or anything, just blood pressure and pulse and a couple od Q's. He said the midwife would contact me about seing me in a few weeks! A little anti-climatic but fairly exciting even so!

I am still shattered but have not been sick today (progress!)

We have been a bit daft and told all our families and 3 friends but we were just so excited we couldn't help it. I am quite nervous in case anything happens but I guess that's life hey?

There is a mega history of twins in both sides of DP's family so I will not be at all surprised if it is twins! Would be quite nice I reckon!

Davidsmom · 04/06/2008 19:21

Hi,

Major hungover feeling and shattered.

No real nausea for a few days so now worrying... Am probably going to look into getting an early scan too. Perhaps we could get a bulk discount if we all got together

I have told my parents, brother and his wife, the childminder and the 6 people on the hen weekend I went on. DH has told....noone and thinks I have blabbed.

I evn did another HPT today (internet cheapies) but still Know it wouldnt mean a M/C less likely but find it strangely reassuring to see those 2 lines come up. I am a POAS addict.

twins are FANTASTIC no need to worry and the multiple mums on here (and me) can help you on your way

Guitargirl · 04/06/2008 20:57

Hi everyone, I still don't really have any symptoms except for a bit of nausea this morning. No sore boobs or anything...

Had GP appointment yesterday, she just got me to fill out the form for 12-wk scan and for the maternity exemption certificate thingie. She made my midwife booking appointment for when I will be 8.5 weeks and she asked about what kind of delivery I am thinking of. She said as my first was an emergency c-section I will have an appointment with consultant further down the line to discuss options for VBAC or planned c-section.

We haven't told anyone yet - well, except I did tell one nice lady in the park last week who asked if DD was my only child. Somehow it's different telling random strangers...! When I was expecting DD several of my friends guessed as I went from a committed red wine fan to a teetotaller overnight...I also told my boss early last time as I had some bleeding at 8 weeks which happened at work.

Guitargirl · 04/06/2008 21:08

Actually I just thought of someone else I've told - I went for a head massage last week bought for me as a present. When I was filling out the form of health needs I mentioned early pregnancy and then they told me that they have a policy of no massage in the first 12 weeks as it stimulates the blood flow and may cause problems. It does feel really different this time as last time DP told MIL even before I had taken a test as he had a 'feeling'...

Newb · 04/06/2008 22:12

Aargh, on the phone to my mum, it's so hard not to tell her. I keep wanting to blurt it out - kind of early pregnancy Tourettes Going to wait til they come to visit to tell them face to face - another four weeks....

DH totally does not realise the willpower this requires...

Newb · 04/06/2008 22:19

PS checking out the hospital options (surfing the web when bored, anyone?)

I don't have private care here but if you pay you can go to this place, which boasts the following on its website...

CATERING AND RESTAURATION SERVICE
During your stay, we will offer you a wide selection of meals, prepared in accordance with the very latest dietary research, which you can enjoy in the privacy of your own room or in the convivial atmosphere of the restaurant. We will also be pleased to welcome you to our ?grand salon? for a tête-à-tête dinner with your partner.
Once a week, a shared breakfast is organised so that you can share your questions and happiness with the other mothers

Newb imagines taking her place in the "grand salon" for "tete a tete dinner" and falling asleep in the soup with one boob out.....

ruthmollymummy · 04/06/2008 22:24

hehe at your boob out Newb - motherhood is not a dignifying thing at those times is it!?
my fav experience was exploding milky boobs as i stood up to conduct the hymn in church.....!! 5 minutes under the hand dryer sorted me out..

ruthmollymummy · 04/06/2008 22:26

I did the good old "what would you say if I told you I was pregnant" over a pizza hut buffet on Friday. but still only parents and sister knows - sister in law (who has 6 and LOVES babies) was on the phone today, oh I was so close.

ruthmollymummy · 05/06/2008 15:06

oh man - last time I was sick three times a day, now I fall asleep three times a day - I am soooooo tired! I phoned a doula in my area yesterday to come round for a chat on Tuesday to see what she's all about. Think it might be a good idea - depending on how much she costs!!

EthelredTheUnready · 05/06/2008 18:37

Hi - Can I join in?

Congratulations to you all!

have just found out am pg with no 2... Due on 1/2/09 if i have got my dates right! But I reckon on being induced at 38 weeks if last time anything to go by - full-on GDiabetes!

Last time I was so thrilled and smiley - all a big adventure - this time I just feel ill and knackered! Don't think it has quite sunk in yet...or maybe it is knowing that I am going to have to forgo all cake, drink, chocolate, mincepies and sweeties over christmas - damn and blast!

Am sure I am happy really - No 1 is just the best thing ever, so am sure it will be great!

NoNickname · 05/06/2008 19:04

bored davidsmom?

welcome pinktulips & ethelred

Davidsmom · 05/06/2008 21:49

Yup bored. A million things to do but just about have the energy to reorder the due date list....pathetic.

Am hot bothered and husband ate all the cheesecake we were having for dessert- at breakfast WTF??!!.Perhaps he is having phantom food cravings.

Sulking now...want cheesecake

OP posts:
Davidsmom · 05/06/2008 22:02

Had a few swigs of Gaviscon instead.

Think the dreaded heartburn is starting. Had bottles of the stuff literally everywhere last time.

OP posts:
ruthmollymummy · 05/06/2008 23:08

I am all hot and uncomfy again - wondering if you are suffering still Davidsmom. But I'm so tired. My tummy feels a bit swollen today [grins with mummy-to-be pride].

PinkTulips · 05/06/2008 23:16

it's weird... up on til i tested i really didn't feel preg, now i suddenly feel all bloated and quesy.

must be psychological

thanks for adding me to the list davidsmom... i was trying to get the kids ready for bed earlier so didn't even notice you'd made one.

i can't believe how many there are on this thread already.... this is the earliest i've ever had a confirmed preg.... it's going to seem so long in comparison.

i feel your pain about the cheesecake... i've been trying to eat more healthily recently and haven't got a scrap of chocolate in the house..... i'd kill for some tonight to celebrate!

Davidsmom · 05/06/2008 23:32

Thanks for the sympathy pinktulips on the cheesecake front- dont normally even like it but appear to have gone into dessert mode.

RMM-Yes hot and bothered again so back to the computer

Anyone up at this time?

OP posts:
Guitargirl · 05/06/2008 23:37

I am up, DD slept for 2.5 hours this afternoon (2 hours longer than usual), we let her sleep as thought she might be sickening for something but as a result she has only just gone to sleep for the night .

Still no symptoms. Am tired but think that's because am quite busy at work at the moment. Also dying to spill to people in RL. Was due to go on a boozy night out with my antenatal group this weekend but have cancelled as it's easier than making excuses for not drinking and they're bound to guess. Will be seeing my parents in 2 weeks so as long as everything is still ok will tell them then. I should be 7 weeks then which is the same time I told them with DD.
