Hi

Couldn't see a Feb thread so thought I would start one as am so excited to get a faint but definately positive HPT.

Fertility friend estimates a due date of 4th Feb.

Unfortunately (or fortunately)am off this afternoon for a hen weekend in Barcelona the first holiday in at least a year and a half and can't drink. Ohh well will have to be the responsible adult..... Hence checking to see if up the duff before I went drowning myself in Sangria.

Hope to see some others on here when I get back!!! If anyone cares to join me?

Wow a lot has happened in a few days. Welcome to all the newbies- dont worry about catching up- I've read every post but still cant remember who has done or what

I felt so knackered over the weekend I just slept when I could DH helped a lot (which is not that unusual unfortunately).

Still not feeling that sicky but the dreaded indigestion has hit with a vengence. Gaviscon bulk buy soon I expect. Actually might keep a note of how many bottles I go through this time- goodness knows how many I finished last time Spoonfuls went out the window- only swigs would do.

Going to Gp Wednesday will discuss an early scan. Kept meaning to sort one out privately but always too tired to sort it!! Going to be 12 weeks before I can summon the energy

Think I'll have an early one again.

question: i've never used a sling. does the baby get used to it and want to be carrier about in it all the time? do you get tired carrying the baby plus pushing a buggy?what happens when it rains..(i live in scotland-it happens a LOT)

I used a carrier and then a sling from 3 months. Tink loves it! I use a wrap so the weight is well distributed and I don't get tired as I don't feel like I'm carrying anything. With wraps (don't know about other slings) you can wear more than one baby or baby + child. In the rain I put my coat on over the top of us. I have some big coats that I can do up with her inside and for my smaller coats I put her in a poncho (I never put her in a coat because it would be too many layers)

CE -

Am a bit worried today as I had some brown-coloured discharge yesterday (sorry if TMI). It wasn't much and seems to have stopped now but of course I have been obsessively googling. I know it's apparently quite common and doesn't have to indicate a problem but am still concerned. Am going to ring in sick today and camp outside my GP until they open with the hope of getting an appointment.

MarkStretch · 17/06/2008 07:02

Morning all.

My boobs are killing me! I think I might need a new bra already as I am popping out of mine- is this possible at 7 weeks?!?!

My cousin rang me last night. She was best woman at my wedding 3 weeks ago and she's pregnant too! 6 weeks. There must have been something in the air. Still it will be nice to have a RL person at the same stage too.

Hope you're ok Guitargirl- sounds like a good idea to get it checked out

littleboyblue · 17/06/2008 07:11

Guitargirl, I have had the brown stuff in the past. I don't want to worry you any more, but maybe that's not possible IYKWIM, but to save yourself some time, I'd go straight to EPU or A&E and tell them about it. They'll scan straight away.

Davidsmom · 17/06/2008 07:39

everything crossed for you guitargirl. Hope you check out ok.

TinkerbellesMum · 17/06/2008 08:03

Guitargirl brown means it's old blood so less likely to be something sinister. If you are worried your GP should see you as an emergency. Personal question I'm afraid, but have you had sex in the last few days? Sex and TV scans can cause you to bleed a little and it's not something to worry about. It did put me off sex last time as I was on Aspirin and Heparin so bleed quite a bit each time.

MarkStretch yes sore and big boobs are possible! Mine have been hurting for over a week (I'm between 5 and 7 weeks) and making breastfeeding awful, I think I may be going up too as the pressure from my bra is hurting my nipples more. In my first pregnancy I denied for a long time I was pregnant, I wouldn't even test. At 7 weeks Mum said "are you due on? Cause your boobs look huge, you're either due on or pregnant"

oooggs · 17/06/2008 08:04

morning - guitargirl hope you are ok - we can't go to epu without a dr referral - hope something gets sorted

littleboyblue · 17/06/2008 08:37

Oh ok. My local EPU is independant. I've been a few times without dr referral.

IHaveASecretLittleSmile · 17/06/2008 08:56

So sorry CE. Hope you are back on a thread very soon!

Hello Littleboyblue, TinkerbellesMum, BumpVLump, Babyignoramus and anyone else new I?ve missed out!

laidbackinengland · 17/06/2008 12:19

Morning all. My DH is away for a week so I have the 3 DC's all alone ! It's fine - apart from I am really struggling with dirty nappy changes at the moment. I have had a very sensitive sense of smell over the last week and I have to wear a balaclava or scarf round my face to avoid retching like a strangled walrus when changin DS3's nappy . Grim grim grim. Any tips ?

PinkTulips · 18/06/2008 10:58

CE, so sorry to lose you. hope you're back on the ante natal boards soon.

hello all the newbies! wow..... still can't get over how many of us there are, my aug 06 group only had about 20 and not all of them posted after they joined.

i've told my 2 already that there's a new baby on the way. when i was having ds i kept dd informed the whole way through and she used to love cuddling and kissing my bump and they would actually 'play' together with her touching his toes through my belly and him kicking back at her. when i came home from the hospital she ran up to the car seat with a huge grin and gave him a big kiss, there's never been a moments jealousy from her and i do believe that's largly because ds wasn't a shock to her. am hoping it works this time again!

i'm 7 weeks today, went to the gp on monday and have my referal letters to post to the hospital. she was lovely, really happy for me and i'm to go back to her at 10 weeks just for a check up and at 13 so she can try and hear the heartbeat for me. tis nice of her as i'll be waiting a long time for the hospital, earliest i'll be booked in is 16/17 weeks and they might not scan me til 20 weeks stoopid irish hospitals!

dp is starting to wonder if we should just fork out for a private scan to put our minds to rest abbout the whole twin thing.... i'm getting more ill and exhausted by the day which really isn't usual for me this early on. i spent hours on the couch yeaterday, many of them dozing, went to bed at 11, slept til 8am and i'm still so tired now i could collapse.

M2Alyssa · 18/06/2008 13:00

I am really stuggling to stay awake so tired even when going to bed really early 9pm last night.

Putting it down to the fact that with first pregnancy did not have a toddler to run round after too. So much harder this time although not had any sickness yet. felt nausea but not been sick so pros and cons. With first sometimes it would be 20 times a day!

Have doctors on Tuesday so will bring it up then to see if there is anything to help but doubt it.

Oh the joys!

Hi all - just to let you know, someone has started a new thread for Feb - here

AnnieBellyB · 19/06/2008 13:33

Guitargirl I had brown discharge over the weekend and was worried sick until I got to the doctors first thing monday. She wasn't worried but agreed to refer me to hospital for a scan to calm me down! Chances are, it is old blood as others have said and everything will be okay. Just take it easy.

Sending cyber hugs, Annie

AnnieBellyB · 19/06/2008 13:36

MarkStretch I can completely relate to your bra dilemma!! I'm 7 weeks and already HUGE!!

I love those empire line tops where the seam sits under your boobs. Hope someone understands what I mean!! Well the seam is now sitting right across my boobs instead of underneath! I look like I'm wearing a top two sizes too small!

Titch10 · 19/06/2008 18:40

Hi everyone!
I did 2 pregnancy tests last Wed eve at about 11.30 and found out I'M PREGNANT!!!!! Our first!
I wish I'd known that this site was here...I don't want to tell my family and friends til 12 weeks in case something happens cos i'm 35...so only one friend at work knows (i HAD to tell someone!) and of course gorgeous hubby.
hope it's ok to join this thread. Think I'm due 14th or 15th Feb - have docs appointment tomorrow morning.
