Hi

Couldn't see a Feb thread so thought I would start one as am so excited to get a faint but definately positive HPT.

Fertility friend estimates a due date of 4th Feb.

Unfortunately (or fortunately)am off this afternoon for a hen weekend in Barcelona the first holiday in at least a year and a half and can't drink. Ohh well will have to be the responsible adult..... Hence checking to see if up the duff before I went drowning myself in Sangria.

Hope to see some others on here when I get back!!! If anyone cares to join me?

morning campers- how are we all...still not sign of a bit of morning sickness.. but i suppose its early days. DS is currently sitting on the floor ripping pages out of the auto trader. DP has decided we need a more economical car and that ineed to learn to drive.gasp i hear from the gallery- but yup I cant drive but to put you in the picture. i live right in the city centre of Glasgow and have done for around 8 years and just walk everywhere as its a nighmare for parking. But with two tots i'm really going to have to learn. so i'm looking into those intensive courses. Anyone heard any any reports about them? how are we all this fine sunday? you are either all being sick or doing something far more interesting- in both cases i am jealous.
x

chilledmama · 15/06/2008 08:48

Tulips- not trying for long really. DS 20 months and I said I wanted them reasonably close but no so close I needed a double buggy!!
I hada coil fitted after DS was born which then fell out in October last year. DH deployed in Nov so we used condoms instead [nice] [yuk emoticon]then he got back 3 weeks ago, and I ovulated a week later

loopylula · 15/06/2008 08:53

Morning all. Going to break the news of DC2 to DH today! A bit nervous and excited.

Clarabumps ? i've heard nothing but praise for those intensive courses, I know several peeps who got the basics down pat with a family member then booked an intensive course and passed within the week. Get DH to teach you how to get the car moving in 1st, 2nd gear, etc, coz learning clutch control can take a little time and be a bit frustrating and you wouldn't want to waste a day of your course faffing with that. Its like learning to ride a bike really, once you've mastered it you don't even have to think about it.

Welcome to all new girls xx

Clarabumps · 15/06/2008 09:13

thanks loopy- i'll do that while i wait on my provisionalcoming through. best of luck today- let us know how you get on...

loopylula · 15/06/2008 09:21

Thanks ClaraBumps, am waiting for him to wake up from Fathers Day lie-in to tell him about his 'present'. Am resisting the urge to wake him myself!

oooggs · 15/06/2008 11:19

how exciting loopy - does he know yet? what happened?

hopingforasecond · 15/06/2008 14:50

Why oh why oh why was I willing myself to get MS symptoms????!!!!!

blech.

Not actually puking, but feeling so sick that I almost wish I was, yk?

MarkStretch · 15/06/2008 15:56

Hello

Can I join please? Have been lurking for a while! I'm about 6/7 weeks, due 9th Feb I think

Already have a dd aged 6 but I seem to have completely forgotten what it's like to be pregnant! Be of a shock to be honest as DH and I were about to start fertility treatment when it happened. 12 tests later it finally seems to have sunk in.

Had completely forgotten how overwhelmingly tired you feel in the first few weeks and I'm working full time too so feel exhausted!

MarkStretch · 15/06/2008 15:58

Will add myself to the list.

So what's the plan now? I can't remember!! When do you book in a with a midwife? Early days yet for me I guess!! When are early scans? 12 weeks? What has everyone done so far? I'm still in shock

shubiedoo · 15/06/2008 16:31

Hi McDreamy, our due dates are close and we're both having a 3rd... what ages are your other two? Mine are 5 and (gulp) 17 months...

McDreamy · 15/06/2008 16:33

Mine are 5 and 3 next month! How are you feeling?

ruthmollymummy · 15/06/2008 17:45

I'm dying to know how loopylu's DH took the news!! what a fantastic father's day surprise. I couldn't keep it a secret that long or my head would pop I'm sure!!

shubiedoo · 15/06/2008 17:55

Great, no symptoms at all, but it's very early days. Fingers crossed I'll be as lucky as the last two times, no sickness really.

NervousMouse · 15/06/2008 19:50

Hi, can I join too?

Got my BFP this morning, nice Father's Day present for my husband. I'm due on 19th Feb and my little boy is just 13 months old :-/ didn't want to leave it too long though as I'm getting on a bit.

No symptoms yet, very nervous as I m/ced before I had my little boy. Keeping my fingers crossed and trying not to get too excited :-)

NervousMouse · 15/06/2008 19:52

Hope you don't mind, I added myself..

i just updated my details there ...this is going to sound really premature..but has anyone else thought..what bloody pram am i going to get to accomodate two babies? is that just me..i know its early days but i have one pram and two buggies so i think i might have a fetish..

NervousMouse · 15/06/2008 20:30

Crikey, I hadn't thought about prams, I'm going to need something that can fit 2 as well

Clarabumps · 15/06/2008 20:33

wow- see i'm a pram maniac! i think i have the same obsession guys have with cars or gadgets. and the think is with having two at different ages is that when the littlest one is a year and a half ..hopefully..ds will want to walk everywhere. so then you'll only need one...so do you buy a twin..or do you buy one with a conversion kit? that is the question...

NervousMouse · 15/06/2008 20:37

I've seen the doubles where rather than being side by side, one is behind the other. Good idea from a practical point of view but the poor little one at the back must get a stiff neck!

IHaveASecretLittleSmile · 15/06/2008 20:37

Blimey - trying to catch up ....

Loopy, where are you? How did DH take the news?

1st timers, how did DPs take father's day cards from the little jellybeans?

Just thought (during an insomniac moment at about 3am) to say to everyone a bit of advice given to me last time, which was actually invaluable, to cook up a load of home-made quality 'freezer' meals and then when you get back with baby and are too tired to cook, you don't have to rely on expensive junk freezer meals or take-aways!

DH and I spent a weekend doing it, and it was really companionable, and we made sure there was loads of veg in each meal etc.

And before I go, hello to everyone, and wow haven't we got a big list now!!!

IHaveASecretLittleSmile · 15/06/2008 20:40

Oh, and my clothes don't fit anymore! MS stopped as soon as I got out of my now too tight jeans!

But can I really justify digging out the maternity wear at (an estimated) 8 weeks pg??

Clarabumps · 15/06/2008 20:47

yes you can...i have just realised that i'm a big fatty..then i actually hold my stomach in and its not so bad. i just cant be bothered to though.. i'm contemplating phoning in sick tomorrow..
can't face work and going to hand in my notice soon.( in the next few weeks or so..) just could really do with catching up on some sleep..was going to put the wee one in nursey and go back to bed..
am i bad?

LittleMissNorty · 15/06/2008 21:23

Evening all

My maternity clothes came out of the loft today ready to be washed and ironed...I didn't show for ages before, but was very uncomfortable wearing anything too tight around my waist.

DD has been really hard work today and I was very glad when it was bath and bedtime - how on earth am I going to manage with 2 under 2

chilledmama · 15/06/2008 21:45

Because you will - LMN. Thats the incredible thing about parents...we just do!!
