Hi

Couldn't see a Feb thread so thought I would start one as am so excited to get a faint but definately positive HPT.

Fertility friend estimates a due date of 4th Feb.

Unfortunately (or fortunately)am off this afternoon for a hen weekend in Barcelona the first holiday in at least a year and a half and can't drink. Ohh well will have to be the responsible adult..... Hence checking to see if up the duff before I went drowning myself in Sangria.

Hope to see some others on here when I get back!!! If anyone cares to join me?

Secretsmile I'm here! Sorry about ducking out all day ? have had a manic fathers day and managed to get a nice long nap this afternoon!

DH was absolutley gobsmacked and kept saying 'Really?!" As if I was joking! Now its sunk in he's over the moon.

LittleMiss I'm wondering about the 2 under 2 thing aswell! Have been feeling very protective over DD today for some reason, maybe its because I realise that every minute we spend playing together, just me and her, is precious.

I know you are absolutely right chilledMama

loopylula · 15/06/2008 22:03

Feel really weird now I've gotten my secret off my chest with DH, makes it all the more real! I am very nervous now!

chilledmama · 15/06/2008 22:05

Chill loopy - what will be will be...there's very little you can do to influence it!

chilledmama · 15/06/2008 22:07

Are you convinced???? I'm not but thats what people keep saying! I think I might have to change my name from Chiiledmama to 'justwanttopuck'

loopylula · 15/06/2008 22:26

ChilledMama I am usually a member of the que sera clan but I did sort of bring this on myself ? well not all by myself, obviously, but you know what I mean?!

PinkTulips · 15/06/2008 22:52

don't worry about the small gap girls.... it's absolutely fantastic when they're close together. i wouldn't channge the 18 month gap betweeen my 2 for anything and have never once regretted it.

in comparison the 2.5 years between ds and bump are already a problem..... he's not a happy bunnny about there being a replacement baby i asked him today if he wanted a boy baby or a girl baby and he screeched 'i don't wanna listen to you' and ran off ...... o dear

i would recommend to all of you with 2 close together not to buy a double buggy until after the birth if you decide you need it...... most of the people i know who have one hate them. they don't fit in shops, take up acres of room in the boot, are very difficult to steer and cost a small fortune.

i decided before ds was born to put the money aside for one but wait and see if we needed it, turned out carrying ds in a sling til he got too big at 5 months and then taking dd out of the buggy and walking with her while he rode suited us just fine and made it alot easier for me to get out and about with them. and she's such a strong little walker now.

and i do alot of walking as , i don't drive either! am in the process of learning but am very uncomfortable learning in the only car the family has (that dp's wages depend on) as we live in the country with plenty of ditches for me to drive it into! am going to wait til we have the second car, then i won't be as nervous. i'm a good enough driver, just need practice at reversing and getting the hang of the damn clutch

McDreamy · 16/06/2008 06:49

Wow this group is huge!!! The population of the UK is going to expand greatly in Feb What was going on in May!!!!!

I keep saying it but I'm still in shock, it hasn't really sunk in, I am so excited!!

Still no real symptoms apart from tingly boobs (or hoops as DD calls them). No nausea or crashing tiredness but I've probably spoken too soon as I suffered with both with DD and DS. OMG I am going to have 3 children!!!

oooggs · 16/06/2008 07:29

I feel so poorly and looking after dts is so hard

right then I have a side by side for the twins and it is fantastic - tandems don't work well with twins. But now I will have 3 under 2.

Was going to keep dts in pushchair and use a sling, or baby and twin in pushchair and one walk or sit on buggy hood

I am going to buy a single (sold ds1's) for when we all go out together or when dts are at nursery and I don't want to push the double with one child in it

ds1 stopped using a pushchair at 2.8 and walked miles

good idea to wait until after the birth though, thought about a phil & teds which can revert quickly from single to double and back again??????

congrats & welcome to our new comers

loopy you still haven't spilled to how dh took the news

seeing the midwife on thursday for the booking apt. will be 7+6 by then

hope everyone is well or at least coping with pregnancy symptoms

LittleMissNorty · 16/06/2008 08:31

Morning all

Blimey, and I'm worrying about going from 1 to 2 DC's....Oooggs, what if you are expecting DTs again, you'd have 4 under 2 ....you're very brave

LuLuBai · 16/06/2008 09:30

Think someone mentioned that their older child was being extra clingy. I've had exactly the same experience. My little girl is 14 months and usually a retty independent soul but I've barely been able to put her down over the last few days (she's draped over my lap as I type). Have wondered if she is sensing something.

And on the subject of prams - DH said last night that we are not going to get another one, so I will have to see how I manage with sling, pram, boogy board combo. But if I were going to buy another one I would got for a Phil & Ted with one of those nifty newborn handbag things to slot underneath.

loopylula · 16/06/2008 09:45

Hope every one is not suffering too much this morning!

Thanks for the pram advice PinkTulips, I think we will try and manage with sling and old buggy too. Hate the idea of shelling out loads more cash!

oooggs sending you a big hug {{{}}}! Just take one day at a time, hopefully when we are all in the second trimester the energy levels will rally. That's what I am telling myself, anyway.

Got my doctors appointment this arvo at 5.30pm, despite it being a total waste of his and my time I am quite looking forward to it!

LuLuBai · 16/06/2008 11:13

Bleaurgh - nappy changing is making me wretch. And think dd is too young to start potty training.

Tis going to be a long 9 months....

LittleSarah · 16/06/2008 11:30

Morning all!

Still sick, ugh, and tired, bleurgh. All I can think is I can't wait to feel better, I will feel better wont I?? Lol.

Realised last night how careful me and df are going to have to be to afford our wedding in September, in a way it's good timing as it is a perfect excuse to stay in and not drink and so on... going to be measured for dress on Thursday. Last time I hardly showed until 5/6 months and was never big, so hoping that's the case this time but I know it's less likely second time round! Damn, damn, damn.

My dd will be five so need for double buggy, no idea how she'll be with having a sibling. She wants one but how she'll manage with the reality...? Hmmmm. Can't wait to get my sling out, I loved mine!

supersteph · 16/06/2008 11:36

I have been sick now for the past week. It is horrible and for the smells when cooking anythink makes me wretch. I will be 7 weeks tomorrow and I have my midwife appointment next Tuesday. Anyone got any tips for feeling better? xx

NoNickname · 16/06/2008 11:48

LuLuBai - I potty trained ds at 21 months and he took to it really well. In fact, the method I followed (the Baby Whisperer / Tracy Hogg) suggests starting even earlier, before 18 months. And girls are supposed to be even better at it, so you never know, you might just be able to manage it before number two comes along.

LittleSarah - my ds will also be five. He too would like a sibling "to play with" - but I don't think he's quite realised yet that they're not old enough to play with for quite a while!

I'm beginning to feel a bit sick most days now, so I'm pleased. Have docs appointment tomorrow and will see if I can get an early scan.

oooggs · 16/06/2008 11:59

littlemissnorty - 4 under 2 I hadn't thought of that

I hope we all bloom soon (I have never bloomed in pregnancy)

so which sling would you recommend?

LuLuBai · 16/06/2008 12:06

Hi NoNickname - that's very reassuring. If my dates are correct DD will be 22 months when No2 is born.

I use reusables and the thought of all the laundry two poopy babies could generate makes me dizzy.

LittleSarah · 16/06/2008 12:07

oooggs - My sling was a silk brocade one from zolowear, here are some of theirs, I love them.

zolowear

LuLuBai · 16/06/2008 12:12

Oooggs I used a Coorie pouch sling which went over one shoulder when DD was a newborn but she outgrew it quickly and I moved into a Babybjorn.

She used to sleep like a dream in the Coorie. DH used to walk her around the block in it if she was collicky in the evenings and it pretty much always worked.

She didn't sleep so much in the babybjorn but probably because I used to put her facing outwards (it entertained her so much - she would kick and squeal at everyone). But I couldn't walk very far with her in it. She was a very heavy baby and it used to give me back ache.

francesrivis · 16/06/2008 12:57

Lulu - I'm having the same experience with my dd being clingy. We've been really careful not to say anything in front of her, but I suppose things are a bit different what with mummy having a lie down more often than usual (although not for the next fortnight as dp is working away unfortunately!).

For those of you with older dcs, when are you planning to tell them? I'd like to leave it as long as possible with dd as even if we tell her at, say, 5 mths it will seem to her like forever until the baby's born (I made the mistake of mentioning her birthday in front of her a couple of months in advance, and every day after that it was "is it my birthday yet?"!).

Seems like we're all either feeling sick or wishing we were! I shouldn't grumble because I'm not, but somehow having a few symptoms does make you feel reassured

jelliebelly · 16/06/2008 13:42

Hi everybody - can I join in? dc2 is due 6 Feb. I came off the pill in Jan and cycle was all over the place - I will be 38 this year as was starting to panic that it might not happen as easily as last time - ds1 will be 3.5 when dc arrives.

ChocolateEclair · 16/06/2008 13:52

Hi girls. Please can you remove me from the list

(Terrible Father's Day )

Good Luck to everyone else. Hope your pregnancies go well......and I hope to appear on another board very soon
