Hi

Couldn't see a Feb thread so thought I would start one as am so excited to get a faint but definately positive HPT.

Fertility friend estimates a due date of 4th Feb.

Unfortunately (or fortunately)am off this afternoon for a hen weekend in Barcelona the first holiday in at least a year and a half and can't drink. Ohh well will have to be the responsible adult..... Hence checking to see if up the duff before I went drowning myself in Sangria.

Hope to see some others on here when I get back!!! If anyone cares to join me?

Hi Ladies,

Feeling rough today. Some of DH's rellies came to visit- DH insisted on going for lunch to a seafood restuarant. Ate some mackerel pate that has been repeating on me since- not helping that queasy feeling. Gaviscon tonight again I suppose.

RMM- my tummy has been quite bad over the last few days but doesnt sound as bad as yours.

Decided to book a GP appt next week and stuff the MW who said wait til 8 weeks. Everyone else is going Want it to feel a bit more real!

Sorry cant remember who drank a lot recently but I did with DS as I didnt know about him and went out a few times when I was about 5weeks. Has reached all his goals etc but worried a lot. That was the reason I tested early so as not to get drunk at a hen weekend in Barcelona a few weeks ago. Although obviously not ideal so many women dont know they are pg, drink and their DC are fine. I think its the heavy long term drinking that is particularly bad for baby. ( but not recommending alcohol before someone replies)

Anyway rambling now, just came on to wish MissMitford a great day tomorrow so better get on with it!

MissMitford- Have a great wedding tomorrow,
hope the menu choices all worked out and that you can have a 1/2 glass or so of bubbly if you want.

I was going to make my GP apt for Mon but dont know weather to hang on a bit, feel a bit daft going when i'll only be 4 weeks 3 days.

Davidsmom · 07/06/2008 22:00

Jelliebaby-
Well at least it gets things started!

Everyone has been going at 5 weeks so I wouldnt worry about it and just go.

Sorry- cant remember is it your 1st

I already have DD3 but can't remember what I did when pregnant or when I did it. It's amazing how much you forget. I think I will go and get the ball rolling. Can't relax and enjoy it till i've had a scan and seen it's real.

Davidsmom · 07/06/2008 22:08

I want a scan too- had an early one with DS as ?ectopic think it was around 6 weeks.

Saw heartbeat which was wonderful, realised I was pregnant finally despite loads of HPT's.

Would like another early one but Nonickname on here had one and things were inconclusive. I would worry myself to death if had that so will look into it maybe for about 7weeks +. Its only the end of next week.

OP posts:
PinkTulips · 07/06/2008 22:11

how soon do you lot get scans over there in a normal preg?

i didn't get one til gone 20 weeks last time even though i didn't have a clue about dates (got preg with no period after dd).

with dd i got one at 9 weeks but that was only because they were convinced i'd miscarried and wanted to check why i hadn't bled.

really annoys me having to wait so long to see my baby and find out eveything is going ok.

LittleMissNorty · 07/06/2008 22:13

I'll get a nuchal and dating scan at 12 weeks and an anomoly scan at 20 weeks.

May persuade DH to have an earlier one - need to know some dates!

Davidsmom · 07/06/2008 22:15

We get a 12 week dating one then a 20 week anomaly one unless there are date queries or problems.

I had to go private for the nuchal scan.

LMN-

I think if you dont know your LMP date they may offer an early scan.

Obviously depends where you are- seems to be a lottery sometimes.

Jelliebaby · 07/06/2008 22:17

Usually get a dating scan at 12 weeks. I suffer with high blood pressure so had an early scan with DD at 7 weeks then had a scan almost every month after that just to check she wasn't too small.

Hopefully the same will happen this time.

Davidsmom · 07/06/2008 22:19

PS LMN my DS is 12 months- 21st May- when did yours arrive?

LittleMissNorty · 07/06/2008 22:20

2nd June - so 1st birthday last week.....she's still a baby.....blimey can't believe I'm going to have another

PinkTulips · 07/06/2008 22:20

so everyone here is going to see their baby at least 8 weeks before me

poo! can't afford to go private, nothing local available anyway, would have to go to dublin afaik

LittleMissNorty · 07/06/2008 22:21

I shall certainly ask for an early scan....see where it gets me......

Davidsmom · 07/06/2008 22:21

Davidsmom · 07/06/2008 22:27

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 07/06/2008 22:28

I'm same age as you as well Davidsmom ....and for the same reasons I don't think work will be that surprised

Davidsmom · 07/06/2008 22:33

good age to be was also secretly pleased that I might have my 2nd by 40!

OP posts:
Clarabumps · 07/06/2008 22:33

i'm not going to see mine till 12 weeks..tulips..we don't get a 20 week scan in Glasgow. you have to go private- which at a hundred bucks a pop does not sound appealing especially with a house to decorate. I have just started work again in march-they have put me through four weeks of training ( hotel accomodation provided) and now I have to say..."cheers for spending all that money but now i'm going to be a stay at home mum as childcare for two kids is two expensive for the wages you pay me-BUT THANKS ANYWAY!!"
He he don't think they'll be happy...however i will not miss the manic nursery run in the morning while trying to steer the buggy and eat a bit of toast at the same time.

LittleMissNorty · 07/06/2008 22:36

I will be 40 by the time I pop

Right off to bed for me - tiredness is my only symptom atm.....night ladies x

Davidsmom · 07/06/2008 22:38

Good idea about going to bed LMN. sorry to make you think of the big 4-0
