Hi

Couldn't see a Feb thread so thought I would start one as am so excited to get a faint but definately positive HPT.

Fertility friend estimates a due date of 4th Feb.

Unfortunately (or fortunately)am off this afternoon for a hen weekend in Barcelona the first holiday in at least a year and a half and can't drink. Ohh well will have to be the responsible adult..... Hence checking to see if up the duff before I went drowning myself in Sangria.

Hope to see some others on here when I get back!!! If anyone cares to join me?

DS needed a nap so we both went to bed and had a cuddle...1 1/2 hours later now feel a bit sleep hungover.

Supposed to be putting DS in cot more but just couldnt do the up and down bit today.

Must say I like the idea of a prom- getting really dressed up for an occasion havent done that for ages. Have a wedding in a month- will try to cobble something together. Not sure if anything I have will fit and not sure about buying smart maternity outfit as might never wear it again??? Suppose as I actually get paid at the end of June for the first time in months I could treat myself....

Hi NN

Does that make you feel any better- or worse?

Could your dates be wrong?

idontbelieveit · 06/06/2008 15:13

oh dear nonickname, so you still can't be sure. How stressful, will keep my fingers crossed for you good luck with getting the next scan.

Davidsmom · 06/06/2008 15:15

Sorry- stupid question about the better/worse thing. I would still worry even if the little bean was waving at me.

Dont know if it helps but officially I am 6 weeks today as LMP 25th April but didnt Ov until day 20 so bean would really only be 5 weeks developed.

NoNickname - am sorry you are still waiting for conclusive news, am sure that your GP should be able to refer you to the EPU, that's what they're for after all.

NoNickname · 06/06/2008 17:23

My cycles are usually a regular 26 days, with ovulation at day 12/13. This cycle, I ovulated on day 9, and that was also the only day that we bded near to ovulation. So I have taken that day as conception day, and worked out dates from there. That would put me at 6+1 today. However, if you take actual LMP, I would be 5+2.

I am trying to reassure myself that I am 5+2, minus perhaps another day that the egg took to conceive. At 5+1 I don't suppose you'd see very much, like today. It might be wishful thinking, it might not. I'll just have to wait a bit longer.

My dh had a GP's appt today, and he asked about my situation. Lovely GP said he would refer me to our EPAU no problem. So I think I will wait until my booking in appt with him on 17th June. If I can't wait that long, I'll just see him earlier for a referral.

I came out feeling a little worse, but the more I have thought about it, I am not really worrying overly and will just take it a day at a time for the moment.

Sending positive vibes your way

Nothing to report here. No major symptoms. Sickiness has worn off (suspect it was excitment!) but boobs still tender! Going to have a lovely relaxing weekend not doing a great deal!

Waves to all the newbies! and Congrats!

EthelredTheUnready · 06/06/2008 17:46

Hi all..

Good luck with that scan NNN - sounds like good possibility to me! Hang in there!

Interested that others are having different experiences of morning sickness - Am working 3 days and have to get the train at 7am - Was just awful all day. Then today, I've been fine... Brain is dead, but then thats par for the course these days!

Told my mum for her birthday yesterday - good birthday present! She was at birth of dd and she was great, so have booked her in for next one... somehow hearing that you are doing OK from someone who has been through it 4 times, was more reassuring than from DH who lets face it was more scared than me!

all the best all!

Louise

I've changed my due date and am basing it on LMP now rather than ov date!!

goodtiming · 06/06/2008 19:34

davidsmom - I am 6 weeks today as lmp was also 25th April - I make my due date (as per several online calculators) 30/1/09 and drs said 2/2/09.

But I am 6 weeks today (friday) and 30/01/09 is a friday so I am sticking with that

not that I have ever made it to my due date

goodtiming · 06/06/2008 19:37

nonickname - I am sorry that the scan didn't really answer your questions, I was scanned at 6 weeks with ds1 and could see a tiny heartbeat - I think at this early stage days can make a big difference so at 5+ weeks seeing is probably difficult whereas at 6+ weeks it is probably easier.

sorry to ramble

Davidsmom · 06/06/2008 21:10

Hi Goodtiming,

I bought one of those disk thingies that Drs and midwives use to check weeks/due dates etc. (Ebay)I know I ovulated on CD20 so would be due on the 4th/5th. I think NHS works on LMP unless the scans show a week or more discrepancy. So if going by LMP due date will be 30th Jan as per disk thingy.

Will cahnge on the list if confirmed!

Pain in the neck these date differences. Seems so important now but suppose wont really matter much in the end

Guitargirl · 06/06/2008 21:20

I went 10 days past my due date last time and had to be induced. That was after literally months of people telling me that baby was BOUND to be born early as I was born 2 weeks early and my bump was so huge didn't seem possible could get any bigger .

After that I am a bit less fixated I suppose on a due date - although if I do end up having an elective obviously I would prefer to leave it as late as poss to give baby more chance of being born when s/he is ready and in that case an accurate due date really is important. Doesn't help that I didn't mark in my diary date of LMP so although I know which weekend it was can't remember the exact date.

Davidsmom · 06/06/2008 23:56

Having problems sleeping again even though I feel like I could sleep for a week.

Anyone around?

Hi everyone, I got a BFP today!! bit surreal, still cant believe it! have a doc appt to confirm next week...keep on thinking the test was wrong or something!

This is my 2nd, have a DS who is 8mths.

from my calcs, think EDD is 7 Feb!

Davidsmom · 07/06/2008 07:43

Congratulations Aila and welcome.

I thought I was pg due to a few symptoms but its still a shock. I also have a 2007 DC- a DS who is 12 months old.

I had to rush to the loo and had major heaving tho not actually sick this morning. Sorry if TMI. Quite pleased as was worrying about no symptoms.

Dont think I'll stay pleased for long

you're on the list - so it must be true Aila!! I thought I was brave having a second when DD is 9mo - you're a month more insane than me!! Its strange to think that they will be all grown up - walking and stuff by the time the next one comes along!!

I wasn't up last night Davidsmom, I'd say sorry I wasn't around but I'm not! I fell asleep at 10 and didn't wake up till 7!! (not that I'm rubbing it in!)

ruthmollymummy · 07/06/2008 07:47

you beat me to it!

Clarabumps · 07/06/2008 08:31

Morning Lovely Mummies,
so glad i found this wee group- i'm als expection in feb (? dunno wheen yet). Found out three days ago but if i'm honest I've know for about two weeks. It was a bit of a surprise if i'm honest as my ds is only 11 months old. So i'll have two under two- eek? anyone else had two babies close together. My partner is over the moon however my friend has been really unsuppportive. She seems to be taking the times that all mothers have..you know the ones if you already have kids..where you just feel like hiding under your bed and saying i can't do this. You mean it at the time but it passes and you continue. I have jsut recieved an email from her, highlighting these times i have complained to her and using these as a reasonw why i should not have this baby as, apparently, I don't enjoy motherhood!! i don't know how to deal with this as she is very outspoken and will just highlight everytime i have struggled.
I just don't understand why she is being like this as she has two kids and knows what it's like to tell people you are pregnant and for them to slate you.
sorry for such a rant...congratulations on everyones news! i look forward to getting to know you all better in the coming months
x

Clarabumps · 07/06/2008 08:40

yes- i've just realised i'm not the only crazy one having two under two...phew..dp has started nesting 8 months early..he has painted the kitchen and is organising storage solutions for our tiny house. Bless- this is his first time being a dad. Although he is a dad to my other son- he isn't his biological dad.(long story!!) I've just realised that I said "other" son..does that means that i think i'm having a boy? what does everyone think they are having? i know it's to early to be guessing these things but what are everyones original feelings?

Newb · 07/06/2008 08:41

Hi Clarabumps and welcome

Your friend sounds pretty unsupportive. A good friend should be acknowledging the bad bits but buoying you up with all the positive stuff. WTF You are pregnant so you should definitely "have this baby" sending a virtual hug and excitement for you

Clearly she's the one feeling overwhelmed by her own kids. Sounds like a classic case of projection to me....

There again, I have definitely felt extremely jealous of friends before when they announced they were pg, but hope I had the grace to hide it!

x

Newb · 07/06/2008 08:43

Ooh I think boy too, but just because all my other nieces are nieces... plus DH is planning how he can best start bean's musical taste early, and he likes v manly music

ruthmollymummy · 07/06/2008 08:46

Hi and welcome Clarabumps - Newb is right - this is the place to be if you want friends who are as excited as you! I think its the best time for me to have number two. I had always imagined having the first two close together and DD still naps during the day so I can too when I'm shattered or feeling icky - then just imagine when you send them both off to school close together and get to watch trash tv all day again!! (not that that is my motivation...)

I'm delighted about being preggers - and my dh is nesting already too!! congratulations!!

ruthmollymummy · 07/06/2008 08:48

oh, and I'm already speculating this ones a boy cos I'm not throwing up this time and I was violent with dd!
