Hot choc sounds lovely!

My scan is 2nd December so a bit of a wait yet! Got my 16 week appointment on 4th November which will break up the wait a bit.

Re sex I am definitely going to try and find out. I would love a girl first although will be ecstatic whatever but I keep dreaming I am having a boy!So starting to think that it probably is. I just want to know really! I am just far too impatient for my own good

GYo · 21/10/2008 11:56

Will make you a hot choc and send over... got this great stuff from a choc shop thats is just grated choc. Tastes lovely!

Yay- you have your 16wk appt on same date as my scan! Are you looking fwd to hearing the HB?

Time will then fly to the 20wk scan!

I wonder if there is anything around womens intuition and the sex of the baby. Like your dreams indicating sex of baby.

I always always wanted a girl first (like forever!) and was never interested in a boy- but right from start felt this was male. So its not even as if I had a preference pushing my thoughts on this....

Suspect there is nothing in it really- 50/50 chance of being right but I like to speculate as much as poss!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 21/10/2008 12:19

Sounds like it was a night for crap sleep!

Kayz, good going on the selling the buggy front

GYo hooray for movements Makes it seem so real doesn't it? And had to have a chuckle at you getting DH to have a feel, only for the baby to go to sleep, have done that so many times with DH over the years!

Gruff, I am also of your PJ day. 2nd of December is our wedding anniversary! You lot are all obviously being pregnant/getting scanned/giving birth according to all my special dates!

Well survived the MW's, (Oh Diege, forgot to answer you earlier, I didn't know it before I got there but one of the MW's was the same as last week, but also my most bestest MW was there today ) BP is still up on my usual but not in the danger zone, no protein in my wee, they are happy the swelling isn't anything bad on it's own. They wouldn't do the bloods, just said to carry on with spatone and if I'm no better by next visit then they'll do bloods then . And they want me back in a fortnight, she was making noises about going in every week from now on, but it is such a PITA for me to get there, I told her no way, not unless she felt it was absolutely needed, so she agreed to fortnightly for now.

She didn't mention it to me while I was there, but she has written "no customised growth chart" in my notes, not sure what to do about that? Am I supposed to have one? I guess there is no urgent need for one else she'd have said, but why write it in my notes? Who's she telling?

Might go and get a bit of a kip, I'm shattered!

GruffaloSoldier · 21/10/2008 12:48

Just did some steam and had a nap, and still feel crap I wouldnt mind but I have a long babysitting stint later. Need to be on form for that (3.30pm - 12.30am)

Gyo - I am really looking forward to HB. I then have lots of busy weekends in Nov so am hoping that 20 wk scan will come quickly

I am v.intrigued by my dreams so am excited to know if they are right or not.

Thanks for hot choc too GYo

NJ well done for surviving MW!

GYo · 21/10/2008 12:50

Hi Nat
Glad MW was ok, even if you do have to go back again.. no idea what no customised growth chart means. Im sure someone on here will know though.

Go and enjoy a lie down! Will fax you a hot choc too!

Diege · 21/10/2008 14:25

Afternoon! GRUFF hope you survive the babysitting stint - must be tough when you're feeling poorly.
GYO - v.exciting about baby movements. Same here with dh - dds used to freeze when his hand came close
NAT - fear not about customised growth charts. You only have one attcahed to your notes if your baby is being monitored for possibloe growth issues and you are having forthnightl;y scans to monitor growth. I had one with dd1 because of suspected problems (which turned out to be nothing) but remember having one on front of my notes that they updated regularly. Hope this puts your mind at rest!
WOW SES can't beleive your 12 weeks scan is next week!! Have you started buying maternity bits yet?
Good luck with the house plans KAY! Hi to everyone else .
Well sickness seems to be rearing its ugly head! Felt very nauseaus this morning, but better after food - same pattern throughout the day. Am pleased in a way but makes the work commute hard! Had worst nights sleep last night too - woke at 1.45 then on the hour every hour boiling hot! Moan moan...
Going to try and leave early today, so hopefully catch up later

GYo · 21/10/2008 14:33

Hurray for nausea Diege- in weird kinda way, despite it making your commute hard!

sorkycake · 21/10/2008 14:52

GYo you can often predict the sex of the baby by knowing where in your cycle you O'd and had sex etc.
Both me n Tink knew it would be girls for us on this basis, didn't we Tink?
Although I did have a rather naughty Saturday morning gof when we shouldn't have as I knew I was O'ing that day (we were aiming for a girl)

GYo · 21/10/2008 15:59

So for a girl you should have a GOF - before ovulation?

lardybump · 21/10/2008 17:15

Evening all...

DP is working late again so I have dd upstairs with me while i am working and she has just eaten a whole blue crayon while I was reading up on todays post. So should I expect blue poo??????? nice........ Still no word from work re maternity but I have decided to stop chasing them, i will get CAB involved if they havent got back to me by the begining of November....

Hope you are all well... I havent felt the bean all day today and am a bit worried, what can I do to make it move???

tinkisgoingtohaveapumpkin · 21/10/2008 17:15

for a girl gyo - have sex up to 3 days before you are due to ovulate
for a boy - have sex the day before or on the day that you ovulated.
we made luv 3 days before i ovulated

poor you sorky and gruff

we need some virtual medicene in this thread

glad midwife went well nat

i feel more awake now

Thanks GYO! Seem to be keeping it under control at the moment with lots of munchies. I remember with dds that it came around this time, maybe a little later, but had the full hyperemesis from first sik day with dds 1&3. DDs was much more 'typical', and just about bearable, so hope I'm having an 'every other one' type of sickness! Dreading tomorrow as I'm not getting my usual Wed life for my early start and will have to get up at 5.30am. At least I should be awake then what with the insomnia!
LB, I sure all is well, but I always found a glass of coke and a choocy bar got dds moving. Or a glass of iced water if you're feeling more virtuous . Oh and my dds have eaten countless crayons, and yes there were bits of them speckled in the poos .
Hi TINK!
Oh and does anyone know if I can use self-tanning lotion? Usually mix a bit in with moisturiser for face every few days as I am such a caspar, but sure I read somewhere that the rules have changed? Had regualar spray tans with dd3, but not really a priority in the winter (ok, or summer..).

Thanks Tink- on that basis im on for a boy. Will see! Reckoned I ov'd on the wed or thurs and had a GOF on both those days too, not before as I'd been on holiday without DH!.

Glad you are feeling more awake!

Hi LB- im sure the crayon doesnt get digested! I go with Diege's suggestion of real coke if you have it to get beany moving. Think its quite normal to have days of no movement though. Think Nat had similar thing.

Have you had your 20wk scan yet?

tinkisgoingtohaveapumpkin · 21/10/2008 17:46

to get bean moving try

prodding belly,
drink with ice in
fizzy drink
chocolate
icecream

SesHasapinkline · 21/10/2008 18:47

Hi

Gruff - hope you start to feel better soon.

Diege - haven't bought a thing yet - no baby stuff or maternity clothes. Bought a larger size pair of trousers and a larger top at the weekend. Just can't bring myself to buy any proper maternity or baby stuff yet. Hopefully I'll feel different after scan. I have 2 close friends who won't be having any more DC and they have maternity clothes waiting for me.
Am pleased for your nausea as long as it doesn't get too bad...

NJ - glad MW went ok

Had a potentially expensive day today with the car. Noticed that there is a panel underneath the front of the car hanging down. Was quite worrying driving home as I could occassionally hear it scraping along the road. Fortunately was one of the few days today when I was working less than 20 miles from home so just took it steady. Tried to block out thoughts of sparks flying from the scraping and starting a car fire. Made it home but really don't want to drive it any more and have to have a car for work for the rest of the week as am doing probably another 300 miles before the end of the week. Have arranged a hire car but it's going to cost me £120 and then the cost to fix the car as well...

tink - am interested in the theory for working out girl or boy. I'm not sure as think I ov on the Wednesday and we GOFed Sat, Mon, Tues and Thurs... What do you think?!

LB - let us know what works to get bean moving as I may be coming to you for help in a couple of months!

If all is well at the scan I think I might get a doppler. Which one is that you all recommend?

Sorry - really long post after being away at all day meeting. Thank you if you're still reading!

lardybump · 21/10/2008 19:11

chocolate and a proper coffee worked, only now bean is kicking me in the fanny.... Am I aloud to use that word on here???? But really pleased and dont mind a bit of fanny kicking!!!!!!

SesHasapinkline · 21/10/2008 19:18

LOL at fanny kicking! Definitely allowed as it lets me know what I'm in for!

lardybump · 21/10/2008 19:49
Grin
GYo · 21/10/2008 20:07

Hi Ses

This is the doppler that I got, recommended by Tink:
www.babymad.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=81&category_id=2 3&manufacturerid=0&option=comvirtuemart&Itemid=26

Really good, comes with one bottle of gel, which makes big difference and its worked for me every time. Guess big issue with these is that if your placenta is at the front they dont seem to do much. I found babymad to do really good customer service- I ordered at 3pm and it arrived the next day.

SesHasapinkline · 21/10/2008 20:45

Great! Thanks GYo
Will wait until after next Tues...

kayzisexpecting · 21/10/2008 21:19

Evening everyone.

I knew I was having a boy with both of mine. DS I just knew somehow and with this one I knew from when we GOF'd. DH was feeling ill most of the week and we only really managed 2 GOF's, the day before and the day of OV. I actually thought we had missed it and was very surprised I got the BFP.

I find the easist way to get baby to move is to try and go to sleep. He always wriggles when I go to bed or try to have a nap.

We have picked the colour for the kitchen and for DS's room. We think we might do the nursery red as DS's room will be blue.

Hope you are all ok!!!

tinkisgoingtohaveapumpkin · 22/10/2008 08:36

morning

ses

hope that your car gets sorted out
what a pain

i would say that more likely a girl as you timed it sat which is 4 days before ovulation and the monday.

lb

doesnt it drive u mad when they kick in your fanjo feels horrid

angel doppler is amazing

GYo · 22/10/2008 09:11

Morning all and Tink!

Freezing today! Had to be wrapped up for the station platform, but it was 6.30 so kind of not that weird

How is everyone today?

Lots of work on again so probably wont be online much...
