OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GruffaloSoldier · 16/10/2008 12:23

Yeah, my Dh's response when I said about the price of classes was "do we need them?"

when I said about they showed you important things for the birth he said "cant you just look it up on you tube?" I HOPE he was joking!

Def should start up our own one

sorkycake · 16/10/2008 22:05

I think I'm going to say over here, rather than he conception thread.
There doesn't seem much point in being there given that almost everyone who was ttcing together is now pg, and I don't no any of the newbie's

How are you all holding up then?

24 weeks here. flying by!

Rang and booked my pool for the birth today, decided on buggy but won't buy until December and relly only got the car to sort out.

kayzisexpecting · 17/10/2008 07:53

Hello!!

Argh!! The MW said yesterday that he is already head down!!

Only got 8 weeks to go now!!

SesHasapinkline · 17/10/2008 07:59

Hi!

All of you seem so many weeks down the line! But then as Diege said, won't be long til I'm in the 2nd trimester ( all being well...)
My clothes are definitely getting tight, most evenings after work I haven't had energy to do much and my boobs are still sore and swelling. I must go and get some new bras!
Hopefully that's all good signs. I am still worrying though (sorry) and just want to see a nice healthy bean at scan on 28th.

Sorry- that ended up being yet another Ses ramble...

GYo · 17/10/2008 08:18

Morning everyone- for people on the AN Wagon thread!

Nice to see you over here Sorky
Interested to hear you've booked the birth pool. Is that at the hosp? My MW said we can only book once we ring up in labour... Im really keen on a water birth so Im hoping it will be free!

Gruff- LOL about your DH's comment about YouTube. He is probably right though.
Who else could we have in our 'MN NCT' club- isnt Playing reasonably close? Im sure Ses isnt that far away either!

Ses- glad to hear that you are getting close to 2nd trimester. Not that long to wait til 28th now...

Thank goodness its friday

Diege · 17/10/2008 09:46

Hello! I see my chair is still there in the corner, next to LB's if I rememebr correctly? Great to be over here again!

GruffaloSoldier · 17/10/2008 09:54

Good morning!

I am still full of cold must be the longest cold in history! 10 days and counting!

I def have a small bump now which is great, although I just look like I have over indulged!

Yay for more companions on here

Yeah Gyo, Playing isnt that far away. Im sure we could get a group together

GYo · 17/10/2008 10:31

Morning Gruff

Sorry about cold- esp when you are off! doesnt seem fair!

Mine is similarly long lasting - been nearly 2 wks since I started with sore throat! Think there is a particualarly vicious bug about at the moment.

Yay for our very own WagonNCT group

GruffaloSoldier · 17/10/2008 10:38

2 weeks what a pain!

Ive just sneezed and spilt cocoa all over the lounge. luckily we have leather sofas, but all over cushions, carpet and rug too

I have plenty of chores to be doing, including last nights washing up but cant move

so Gyo, i know we spoke before about that you werent sure whether to start buying bits for baby yet - what did you do in the end?

GYo · 17/10/2008 10:50

Ahh bugger about the cocoa- how annoying. Suppose that means moving to clean it up Will fax you a fresh hot chocolate from office restuarant.

Hurray for bumpage!

Not bought any baby bits yet but I am starting to make a list and doing lots of car seat/ buggy research.
Im only doing this as DH needs to focus elsewhere on his studies til xmas (am DESPERATE to talk to him about it but - remind me not to, please!)

Will work out costs and where we can get stuff so when we are ready we can. Will see if anything needs ordering before that too.

I am keen to look at buggies etc but am not yet overwhelmed by need to buy stuff. Though did get all emotional looking at newborn slipper things in M&S the other lunchtime... - anything, I mean anything seems to make me well up. Quite embarrassing!

Sorry- that was long answer! How about you? got anything yet?

GruffaloSoldier · 17/10/2008 11:18

Yeah I did move and clear up - was sooo cross!

I have had a very emotional week this week too! I watched friends this week and bawled my eyes out when ross and rachel had baby emma! Not to mention crying absolutely nothing at all at other times! So know exactlly how you feel!

I have only bought 1 outfit, 2 board books, a fluffy duck cuddly toy and got some freeby early learning centre toys when signed up for magazine subscription, so that was good.

I have also written a list! I know what pushchair and cot Im getting amongst other things. List was HUGE! Dh fell asleep when I read it to him He was quite tired though

My sister has told me NOT to buy ANYTHING, or not too much anyway as she said when she had her children our family bought her everything she needed more or less. (we have a huge family)

Its sooooo exciting I cant think of anything else so feel free to talk to me about anything you want! I love love love it!
I will buy a few bits though.

GYo · 17/10/2008 12:27

OOh how exciting

are you getting moses basket and cot?

GYo · 17/10/2008 12:29

Also was the same during that episode of friends. Somethign about watching any woman giving birht that does it. DH finds it amusing.!

tinkisgoingtohaveapumpkin · 17/10/2008 13:22

tink flies in and takes residence on a birthing ball with her stash of wispas for everyone

poor you gruff colds are horrid

gyo and gruff - it is great buying and lookiing @ baby things

i am going to get a plastic baby gym, cot mobile, baby sling, some activity toys
and changing table

i am 27.5 weeks on sun cant believe i am in the 3rd trimester

Diege · 17/10/2008 13:36

Hello! Not sure where to post tbh - I seem to be flitting from one to the next, and don't want to keep repeating myself . Will go wherevee the converstaion flowqs, and pop in to other thread too so newbies/the other wiating to ttc-ers, and ttc-ers don't feel abandoned!
Am having very sharp twinges low down, almost constant. Not worried as had these with other dds - the advantages of being an oldtimer eh! .
Hope Nat is OK today - have been reading through your old labour threads Nat - phew! what an ordeal you wnet through!

GruffaloSoldier · 17/10/2008 14:00

Yeah Gyo, although cant choose between moses basket or one ofthese They are much more expensive but I have heard some really good things about them.

Hey tink - more shopping sounds good. I have just got back from some more "window shopping"

Diege - I had these pains too at the beginning at about 6 weeks. Havent had the since but have been having more in the last few days. I think it is just more stretching - either that or constipation

Diege · 17/10/2008 14:22

Hi GRUFF - I love the amby nest, though have digthered over it for all 3 dds then gone for moses basket Would be lovedly to have for a first baby though, as you'd get use out of it for subsequent babies!
Yes, I think the pains are ligament ones, as they got a lot worse when I was hoovering just now. Serves me right for hoovering!
Am I the only sad sack whose excitement is mounting for tonight's murder?

lardybump · 17/10/2008 16:42

Evening all. I have had another crap day.

DD has decided to start throwing tantrums now. Only started today and I was so shocked and embarrassed that I didn?t really know what to do. Then she poked a girl in the eye (although I don?t believe it was done on purpose, she keeps pointing out noses and ears and eyes on her dollies so think this is what she was doing).

Then to top it of I came home and crashed into a neighbour?s car. I can?t believe it!!!! It was so stupid..... I have been driving since I was 17 and never had an accident before.... I was dreading telling dp but he was ok with it. We have a £150 excess on insurance policy so really hoping they say that we can get it done without using insurance. They are good friends of ours and there is not much damage just a scuff and small dent so fingers crossed we can do it that way and it will be cheaper?.

So if you dont mind i am going to sit in the corner and wallow in self pity for a while.... (um did someone mention chocolate?)

tinkisgoingtohaveapumpkin · 17/10/2008 17:00

hi lb - poor you you have had your run of bad luck what a day.
tink hands over a huge wispa

dd has been very badly behaved for the last few weeks until 2 days ago now her old self seems to be coming back is being really luving and listening to me and not so hyper.
she got upset when i tried to give her lunch and said she needed calpol as felt poorly. her legs look abit spotty now.
thinking she has probably picked something up from nursery

lardybump · 17/10/2008 17:06

Oh no is it CP? Have you had CP?

tinkisgoingtohaveapumpkin · 17/10/2008 17:15

i have had cp luckily!! so i should be out if danger. there has been a confirmed case ------------ @ dds nursery. sorry dd got in there 2 cant help pressing the keys.
i will keep an eye on the spots

Diege · 17/10/2008 18:05

Oh no Lardy!! At least the car owners are friends and should understand . Bad luck on tantrums - been there done that times 3 and it's really, really tough. DD2 was the worst - I have clear memories of hermaking herself sick in the middle of Morrisons so wound up was she .
Hood that you've had chickenpox TINKs, although it's only really worrying in pregnancy right at the beginning and right at the end.
Feel sooo tired - never had it this bad with other pregnancies. Def tired up with insomnia I think. Very nearly told my mum about my bfp tonight on 'phone, but I'm holding back and not telling a soul, not even my closest friends...is that bad? Just can't bear the whole having to untell thing if it goes wrong again!

That is not bad diege it is totally understandable.... Are you having an early scan? How far along are you now?

Neighbours have just got back dp went out there first then I sleepily went out holding dd. DD loves him and was calling his name and he said (while smiling) "that?s it bring dd out so I can?t have a go at you." They were really nice and we are going to try and sort it out without involving the insurance.... yay.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 17/10/2008 18:33

evening all!! Wow- we've emigrated over here... all the ttc'ers will be missing us!!.... actually who is there ttc now?? can't remember the last POAS that wasn't a BFP!! (or am i just forgetful??)

I've got rid of the kids for 2 nights!!! went to my mums today, then i was sooooo tired i didn't want to have to bring them home on the bus, and sort their tea out before putting them to bed them making tea for me and DH... so my mum said she'd have them tonight, take them out tomorrow and have them tomorrow night and then me and DH are going there for sunday lunch there so will collect the kids then.

Will be weird having the whole house to myself all day tomorrow... dont know what to do with myself!! might see how long i can stay in bed, followed by a bath during the day... then maybe sort some washign and ironing, blitz the kitchen and bathroom then veg on the sofa... oh i need to hoover all over, then i can veg!!

Took DS into a charity shop today to see if there were any jiqsaws he could have, anyway i saw a stunning tiny little baby gap fleecy all-in-one romper thing... it was in a basket full of baby things, asked how much it was and was told they were all 3 for £1... i looked through and found a stunning little gap top/vest, a 2 piece next outfit and a couple of sleepsuits so it cost me £2 and none of them even look used!!! I'm going to put them on a hot wash before baby arrives, but i'm really chuffed with my bargains!!!

Right i'm off to watch Hollyoaks... will possibly be on again later, but if not i'm sure i'll be on tomorrow!!

xxx
