Hi All

Been a bit quiet here on the AN wagon.... suspect its got something to with it not having any spa facilities... but hey

How are all the PG wagonners- having said that we are probably up to date from the main Wagon rolling along....

Just thought I'd check in. Got my 12 wk scan on Friday. 5 days to go

After 4 weeks of feeling squashed by tiredness I had two days over the weekened of feeling vaguely human which was great.

Naturally now worrying that symptoms going away so quickly is a bad sign... Will find out on Friday anyway....

Does the worrying ever stop? suspect not....

Kalikaroo · 01/09/2008 16:31

Hi everyone

Sorry I haven't been on for a while - been feeling pants and had a scary bleed.....but everything is fine!

Went to see the midwife for the first time today and she gave me a quick scan to check everything was ok and we saw the baby and its heartbeat! YAY! (Should make me feel less paranoid for, ooh, at least a day! )

I'm apparently 9 weeks rather than 10.

Have to go for my proper scan in 2 weeks. They do the 11/12 week scan vaginally here (Scandinavia) and you get a cervical examination too . The doctor who will be doing the scan looks like a bit of a crusty old soul...will just have to lie back and think of Scotland! (my country of origin!)

GYo · 01/09/2008 21:14

HI Kal

Sorry to hear things have been a worry, but Im glad everything is ok now though.

The scan sounds good, probably a very good thing to check the cervix as well as the scan.

GYo · 04/09/2008 12:57

Its very quiet on here.... is everyone lurking on the other thread?

Cosmo- are you still about? how is morning sickness?

Cosmogirl · 04/09/2008 13:01

Hi GYo, yep am still about, though still really suffering with MS. Good luck for your scan tomorrow! I decided I couldn't wait any longer and have booked a private one for Saturday afternoon.

Midwife had bodged my hosp referral, so looking likely that I wouldn't get 1st NHS scan until 14 weeks. Decided that was too long to wait to check everything is ok in there, and to see if its 1 or 2 causing me to feel so rotten!

GYo · 04/09/2008 13:03

Ahh great to see you here but not great that you are still feeling so rubbish

How many weeks will you be for your scan on Sat?

Cosmogirl · 04/09/2008 13:07

I think I'll be 10+5 but bit worried they'll end up telling me I'm 9! Seems a lot of people end up getting date pushed back when they go. Psychologically I don't want to have to relive week 9 again...

GYo · 04/09/2008 13:14

Why do you think they will push you back? are you unsure re dates? Must be awful to go back in time when preg... esp if feeling awful.

10wks ish(!) will give good picture. i saw laods at my 8wk scan, could make out it was baby and see heartbeat, so 2 weeks later should be much better...

Hope you post a picture !

Cosmogirl · 04/09/2008 13:24

Just heard a few others were pushed back - so being the eternal pessimist, am thinking this will happen! Hopefully it will all be ok, I am a bit nervous to be honest but I suppose that is only natural.

I think if I can get confirmation that everything is ok, it might help me to deal better with the sickness - and if not, then at least I know there is a problem sooner rather than later.

Good luck for tomo. x

GYo · 04/09/2008 13:35

Thanks Cosmo. Will report back.
Understand nerves things. Im bricking it to be honest. I've got every possible negative scenario in my head!

Good luck for yours. Take care!

calsworld · 04/09/2008 16:18

Hey you too, hope you don't mind me sticking my nose in...

Cosmo, sorry you're still suffering, I do so hope it starts to ease off for you when you get to the 12 - 13 week mark. Glad you've managed to book a scan for Saturday, can't beat a bit of piece of mind and who knows, with all that sickness, maybe its 2 (or more )!!

My dates were put back a week when I was pg with DS, and I was really disappointed as felt like I was 'doing' a week again so completely understand where you're coming from. By the time you get to 25ish weeks you'll have 'lost' that week again though .

GYo, hope you get a good scan tomorrow, I'm quite excited for you both and look forward to hearing your news

Cosmogirl · 04/09/2008 16:30

Hi Cals,

Thanks - we weren't going to go down the private scan route, but the weeks have been really dragging and 14 seems like a lifetime away at the minute.

Have the scan at 4.30 on Sat, so will pop in when back and let you know how it went. Either way, it will be nice to know what's going on in there! Here's hoping no week repetition awaits. Who knows, perhaps I'll be lucky and they'll tell me I'm 12 weeks! Yeah right....

Hope you are doing ok and taking lots of time to pamper yourself x

calsworld · 04/09/2008 16:44

I'm doing good, in some ways I think I need to go back to work as am becoming a lazy mare and there is an imprint of my backside on the sofa

On the other hand - when else am I going to get to rest this much? It kind of makes up for having my weeks holiday taken up with DS' Chicken pox when I got NO rest whatsoever.

I can totally empathise with waiting until 14 weeks, a total lifetime away! As you are fairly familiar with your cycle, you're likely to find that your dates are about right.

Really must pull my finger out and ring the local salon to see if they can book me in to get my eyebrows done.

Just had a text from my mum, my niece has taken some of her gcse's a year early and just got some results - an 'a' and a 'b' in science! Clever girl!! Am a very proud auntie

GruffaloSoldier · 04/09/2008 19:26

Hey all

Quick question - after having nausea on and off all day for the last two weeks I havent had any today. is this a bad sign?im nearly 8 weeks. im worrying myself silly

GYo · 04/09/2008 19:39

Hi Gruff

I know its massive worry but the symptoms can come and go... and I think is normal... you will probably be feeling pukey again tomorrow ...

Had similar myself...I've felt like living dead for last 3 weeks with tiredness. I had two days last weekend when i felt human... was amazing... but back to being living dead now...

GruffaloSoldier · 04/09/2008 19:59

ok thanks gyo! i will try and be calm then

GYo · 09/09/2008 15:54

Hi Everyone- think Im still the only one posting here!

Just felt the need to post since I've suddenly been overwhelmed by feeling a link with the baby. After weeks of feeling nothing at all, Im suddenly a lot more excited and emotional about the whole thing. Now itching to buy stuff, but I will wait as its still too early I think.

Must be to do with relaxing after the 12week scan last week but regardless its a good thing.

Anyone else out there?.......

GruffaloSoldier · 09/09/2008 18:36

hi gyo - thats great!

i have bought one outfit already

Why dont you buy one thing to mark the 12 week milestone - some thing small like some cute socks or cardi? I got the outfit due to looking at it for past 6 or so months wanting it so when I wasnt even ttc, so i bought it about a week ago!!

MIL has also given us a nursery rhyme book.

Its up to you though if you can bear to wait. I am going to buy a little something to mark this scan and then 12 week scan and then hopefully can wait a few more weeks before proper buying

Its so exciting!

GruffaloSoldier · 09/09/2008 21:56

Hi GYo

So we are a month a part then, so we gona have a little A331 baby group?

Just watching secret millionaire - it makes me cry every time

God its a good one!

GYo · 10/09/2008 08:38

Hi Gruff
Sorry flaked out early last night.

1 month apart wow! Cool!

We should definately have an A331 baby club, although Im not sure that meeting there is the safest place with two babies!

However I do have a comfy lounge

How exciting!!
