Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 14:01

Hey, I tell you what babywear is just the beginning!! You'll need a cot, and baby furniture and curtains and light shades and changing mats, and cute little teddies and.... oh the list goes on and on, but OMG, buying it all is so much bloody fun!! LOL

Oh and a moses basket, or a crib, and the pushcahir, and the carseat....

One tip though, Babies R Us cot bed sheets shrink in the wash

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 14:02

Oh and another tip, some of the websites have like a wish list thing, instead of a shopping basket, it is almost as satisfying putting everything you want in a wish list as it is a shopping basket

GYo · 15/08/2008 14:13

ooh thanks Nat

Will have a look at the w/e. Love the idea of buying things virtually but not buying via a wishlist!

I can imagine a lot of money can be spent!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 14:16

I went through the M&P's website a couple of days ago, just to get a rough idea of what we are looking at spending........ it was over £3000 Shushhhh don't tell DH!! LOL

GYo · 15/08/2008 14:20

wow really??

Are you able to reuse cots, car seats etc from your DSs?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 14:28

Nope, we sold DS2's carseat with his pram, and obviously he is using the one he has now, and he will still be in his cot.

Besides (confession time) I am a bit of a ponce and won't use things again - I know I know, and it isn't as if I look down my nose at anyone who does or anything like that, it is just one of my many quirks.

GYo · 15/08/2008 14:50

Not a ponce at all- go for it, lovely having new things.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 14:58

Oh I am a ponce about this, I fully admit it . Anyone reading this would turn their nose up and think 'ponce'! It is more about it being absolutely clean with me, and yes, buying new things is lovely so that comes in to it as well.

And the clean thing is ridiculous because I can bet that DS2's stuff is cleaner than anything bought off a shelf that has probably been sat there gathering dust for god knows how long! It is just a mental barrier I can't get over!

GYo · 15/08/2008 16:07

by the way, since gloating telling you all that I havent had bad mornning sickness, I've been feeling dreadful. should have kept my mouth shut!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 16:14

Oh no, hope it is just a one off. How many weeks are you now?

GYo · 15/08/2008 16:19

So do I! 9.5wks, will be 10 on tuesday.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 16:21

Ah, well it is quite late to start feeling ill, so hopefully it is just a one off, or at least if it is here to stay, it won't be long before you are hitting the second trimester and hopefully getting over it!

I just stepped on DS2's little hand, with my shoes on

GYo · 15/08/2008 16:23

Opps re DS's hand. Hope he didnt cry...

Im sure it will pass. Had very heavy meal yesterday which might be to blame.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 16:33

Cry? No, just screamed the house down He is fine now though He was already paddying, threw himself on the floor while I was walking behind him, I didn't actually step on it properly, I had seen I was going to, couldn't stop myself completely but managed not to put any weight on it IYKWIM?

Try to drink some water, if you haven't already.

GYo · 15/08/2008 16:39

bet he wont do that again!

Just had some fruit pastilles and sipping water, have done a good job!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 16:40

Oh I expect he will at some point...

Gosh, haven't had those sweets for years!

calsworld · 15/08/2008 17:12

Afternoon all! PMSL at sulking!

No, I genuinely had to do some actual work! I've spent ages on MN this week when I should have been working on my budget (and all the other jobs piling up on my desk) but I'm finding staying focussed really hard when there's so much else to look at.

Ummmm my laptop has just announced its going to shut down in 2 mins so going to post this and come back......

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 17:17

'fraid you lucked out on the apple danish, t'is all gone, but I blame DS1 he said to me "mum don't save that for Cal, she's too busy to eat, you are distracting her" he did, really, honestly....

calsworld · 15/08/2008 17:36

Well DS1, apple danish isn't really my thing anyway,

I want a new highchair this time round, and we'll need to work out what to do re beds / bedrooms etc too. I had most of my stuff given to me for DS and unlike shopaholic nj, won't be replacing much.

DS even wore quite a lot of clothes bought for my nieces as they had a goos stock of neutral clothes! I'm a bit of a sucker for sentiment!

I suspect I'll be overwhelmed with girls clothes if this is a DD to be as DS has 3 older girl cousins! (Excl the 2 that are 16+ as their baby clothes are long gone!)

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 17:49

LOL Oh good you won't mind when I eat the second one tomorrow then?

Cor I wish I could do that Cal, really I do, I just can't get over it in my head. I don't know why, we were all brought up with nothing new at all, maybe that is why? Who knows?

lardybump · 15/08/2008 17:51

Baby will also be using all of DD's bits. I would love to replace them but just can not afford them. DD is in a cot bed at the moment so new baby will have that and we are moving dd into a bed over the xmas holidays. She will be 21 months and IKEA do a lovely bed that you have have in 3 differnt sizes.... So we will get her one of those.

If we have a boy then will need to replace all the clothes as we only have girls ones but appart from that (and some newborn clothes) it will be hand me downs all the way....

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 17:56

I am off (am repeating from TTC thread - at least I think it was the TTC thread, is this the AN thread???)

Have a lovely weekend everyone, fingers crossed the rain sods off and we have the sunshine that was this morning back xxx

calsworld · 15/08/2008 18:01

Sunshine? I'm still basking in it

lardybump · 15/08/2008 18:02

Cals stop gloating it doesn't suit you....

Night NJ have a lovely weekend!!!

calsworld · 15/08/2008 20:23

No, it probably doesn't actually, don't know what came over me there!

DH has put a film on so best stop MN'ing and pay attention as I'll probably get moaned at later!

G'night all
