OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 14/08/2008 12:58

Well it's lasted longer with you than it would have done with me!

calsworld · 14/08/2008 12:58

(NJ - Phew! And am liking rantage by the way !)

calsworld · 14/08/2008 12:59

its calling quite loudly!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 14/08/2008 13:03

OK make a brew, bite each end off the twirl, and suck the tea up through the twirl That way it lasts longer and you can say it was the only way you could have possibly drank your tea due to sore lips, or something....

Will it work d'ya reckon?

GruffaloSoldier · 14/08/2008 13:05

I went Frimley in the end Gyo!

Cals - it is funny what people I think! I think you would probably be a normal aged mum

I find it funny that at 25 I am considered a young mum when there are girls as young as 12 or whatever it is having babies!I also feel like I have been waiting FOREVER!

The world would be so boring if we all had kids at the same age!

GruffaloSoldier · 14/08/2008 13:07

Woah sorry for some reason that took me ages to write - I think it was all the nose blowing!!

I am nauseus today grrr! Already????

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 14/08/2008 13:08

"Make a brew?" A brew????? Where did that come from?!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 14/08/2008 13:09

Gruff, my nausea started early with DS2, was gone in about a week! Much better than this time!

GruffaloSoldier · 14/08/2008 13:12

Oooh that wouldn't be so bad then NJ!

I am getting cross as feel like I should be enjoying this lovely sunny day - but don't wan to move!!!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 14/08/2008 13:17

Sunny? You have sun? More grey miserable drizzle/chucking it down type rain here.

I can not remember the last time we had a day when it didn't rain

calsworld · 14/08/2008 13:28

We have sun / rain / sun / wind here.

Am confusing myself with posts between here and TTC. Just posted there about being excited about being pg which seems a little inappropriate and insensitive .

Must concentrate harder.

Right, lunch hour is over and I've got more numbers to invent calculate!

Starshinetiger · 14/08/2008 13:40

Glad I'm not the only one preferring the refuge of the wagon to the AN thread - is nice to talk to people at the same stage but I can't keep up and as both Cals. GYo and Playing are here in the wagon and are March due dates, I don't really feel the need to leave.
Cosmo - I echo everyone else, sugar really doesn't work for me - maybe it will for you? - you do need to try nutritious savoury stuff. I get something every lunch time even though I don't necessarily feel like eating it - it usually makes me feel better, however long for. The worst days were the days I just a lay around the house and didn't eat properly. Don't get my wrong, I felt still felt really rough this morning, but lunch has definitely helped. I constantly have rice cakes with me, which does help a little and my favourite dinner at the mo is scrambled eggs on toast (I was worried to start with that it would worsen the constipation - TMI? - but it doesn't). Think I'll be having that for tea again tonight. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for having a sick day, 'cos MS is horrid, horrid, horrid, but I have found I'm better when I'm busy. Two weeks ago I was asking for recommendations for dinner though, as I couldn't face anything, so it's really just a case of working out what you can eat and what you can't.
Right, have I waffled enough?!
On another pregnancy symptom - I'm such a blubby mess at the moment. On Sunday i watched Extreme Makeover Home Edition (extreme again!!) while DS was napping and blubbed through that, on Tuesday I blubbed at Holby City and at lunchtime I welled up reading the birth stories and conception stories (i.e. telling your partner you're pg) in Mother & Baby Magazine, I'm a flippin' mess!
I can't remember - does the hormonal thing stay with you throughout?!

GruffaloSoldier · 14/08/2008 13:42

Ok I spoke too soon! Fell asleep on the sofa and awoke to torrential downpour! Was a nice nap though, now Dh is making me lunch

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 14/08/2008 13:47

Star, I think it does stay throughout, I welled up when DH bought me a cup of tea yesterday, because he'd used the wrong mug, As far as I am aware before last night, there were no right or wrong mugs.....

Also have had a bit of a palava this morning, a direct debit that was finished last month and that shouldn't have come out this month, did go out, so I had to ring my bank to get it back, the lovely lady on the phone apologised and I had to breathe very deeply whilst explaining that it wasn't her fault LOL

Oh and when I put DS2 into bed last night, as I was closing the door saying the usual "sweet dreams night night" he blew me a kiss , I had to go back in and give him an extra cuddle!

GruffaloSoldier · 14/08/2008 13:48

Ooh star! Im not that bad yet - but did have a 'moment' the other day when I cried at the TV prog 'secret millionaire' and then DH proceeded to bump his head on a door (quite hard) which made me bawl again! DH found it very amusing!

GruffaloSoldier · 14/08/2008 13:50

Aww NJ your DS2 sounds a sweetie!

GYo · 14/08/2008 14:40

Back from lunch. Eaten so much- which I know will be so bad in a about an hour when it makes me feel sick.

Lovely 3 courses but Im still tempted but all this talk of twirls.

Cosmogirl · 14/08/2008 16:11

Star - think you're right. I feel much worse today and all I've done is lie on the sofa. Tried to eat some plain pasta for lunch after Cal's leg slapping but could only force down a couple of handfuls. Never thought I'd say this, but wish I could throw up, so I'd feel better for a while. MS has got to be worse than giving birth, at least you know that will end within 72 hours...

Starshinetiger · 14/08/2008 16:51

Cosmo - sorry to hear it's so bad. Honestly that's how I felt at the end of week 7 and I don't know if it's got better, or I've just got more used to it, but it does feel better IYKWIM!

IMHO MS is worse than giving birth, but then I was only properly having contractions from about 1pm, in hospital by 6pm and given birth by 9pm with gas & air and water birth, but i know I was very lucky (I don't have child-bearing hips for nothing y'know). I've also had food poisoning 3 times and I think that MS is worse because you don't know when it's going to end. Hope tomorrow is better for you

P.S. This isn't me trying to spark an antenatal-stylee debate on whether MS is worse than giving birth

lardybump · 14/08/2008 16:57

I can not believe that people say older mums are worse mums. They obviously havent seen some of the mums on my sisters old estate..... I am an old mum, but I am in a loving (well most of the time ) happy relationship. I own my own home have a job and thus can provide some security for my children..... I am strick on things that matter (ie health and safety) and laid back on the smaller things. So bloody there!!!!!!!! anyway......

I have to say that giving birth was worse than MS for me............ but well worth it...

calsworld · 14/08/2008 18:42

MS? It'll all be worth it I promise - regardless of whether it turns out to be better or worse than birth!

And by the way, when we're all post natal and sharing birth stories, I'm going to remind you of these posts today

I have to say, I'm getting bloody confused about the threads - and once again have done a big pregnant post on the TTC thread.

Will somebody slap my legs?

Starshine - Lol re antenatal-stylee debate!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 08:05

Morning

OMG giving birth is easy-peasy (well that is what I am telling myself, and I'm sticking to it!!! Please no one burst my ignorance is bliss bubble!! )

DH felt the baby move last night!!! I can't believe it, a week ago I wasn't even getting slight flutters, now you can feel it from the outside! I think either the placenta was on the front (blocking movements) and it has moved, or the baby is just suddenly strong enough to kick through the placenta, or (and I don't even know if this possible but...) I am wondering if your uterous can change shape/position? I had had the odd BH before I felt the movements, but they have been getting more and more regular since last week, so obviously what ever has happened in there the baby is stimulating it to contract.

Also have been having the odd contraction (proper contraction, not BH) in the evening, I think my IU is coming back I might be able to ignore the IU for a few weeks yet! Not bloody likely....

Sorry huge me me me post, had to get it all out!!

GYo · 15/08/2008 08:24

Hi Nat
so excited that you are feelings lots of movements now your DH must be well chuffed to feel it.

What is IU?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 08:31

He was very excited! I told him to put his hand on my belly because the baby was moving, he said "I won't feel it yet" I said just try, so he put his hand there and the baby moved, I looked at DH, he shock his head, then the baby did a big sumasult and DH nearly jumped off the bed LOL "I bloody well felt that" he said LOL

Sorry IU = Irritable Uterous, it is what caused all the contractions with DS2, and why I was in (MN) labour for 7 weeks.... I am only 20 weeks tomorrow, I seriously don't think I could handle another 20+ weeks of the contractions like how they were last time, luckily so far they are no where near as bad yet, just hope it either sods off completely or builds up slowly, veeeeeery s l o w l y!!!

GYo · 15/08/2008 08:50

OMG- labour for 7wks. Thats enough to finish you off before you even start!

FIngers crossed it doesnt happen again
