Well ladies off on holidays tomorrow, feel quite nervous!! and then when we get back I need to start going to a few baby shops looking at the bits we need. I was a fan of kiddicare but have not been for a while so I may visit there sometime in june.

Hope everyone has a good week and lots more bumps and uterus's appear!!

Coolkat - have a lovely holiday

Doctorswife - drool at the thought of chocolate cheesecake!! Am definitely getting over my food aversions

Lacksadaisy - thanks for the Mamas and Papas link - Huddersfield is on the way to my parents so might just pop in next time we are visiting them. I just lurve Mamas and Papas stuff.

Eurovision for me tonight - although I normally watch it with a bottle of wine so I am sure it won't be as much fun watching it sober

I'm not happy rant coming!! we have had a lovely day out at a friends bbq this afternoon, DS was fantastic and everybody loved him he was so good. Anyway when we came to leave my friends DH - VV drunk fell over with DS in arms and landed on my pushchair and snapped the frame. He was too drunk to discuss it with rationally so we will have to wait until tomorrow to see if he offers to pay for a replacement. We've only had it for 6 months and it cost over £100 - M&P zoom pure which you can not get anymore I think we got one of the last stock ones. I am gutted I loved it, we still have the A3 pramette which DS loves and is very comfy for him but it is so huge and heavy to get in and out of the car. I'm really angry and needed to get it off my chest, sorry for the long post.

MerryMarigold · 24/05/2008 22:52

Oh no, sorry to hear that bubbaz. Hope ds is ok even if the pushchair is not! You can get cheap buggies on ebay, i guess he only really needs a stroller now if you are going somewhere with a lot of walking.

If I were you, would talk to friend about how you feel about situation (is she good enough friend to be honest with?), and hopefully that will prompt some sort of reparation from the drunken DH.

LolaBella · 25/05/2008 10:24

Morning - sun is shining here today a little breezy but we are having a bar b q for dp birthday and have 35 people coming so am praying the dry weather holds out.

Went to see the Kaiser Cheifs last night in Leeds and they were amazing - little bean particularly liked 'Ruby' song and could feel him or her moving around to it.

Bubbaz i would be so mad at your friend's dh i'm sure if he is at all decent he will wake up today and realise what a t**t he was and offer to pay.

Hope everybody else is having a lovely long bank holiday with not too much rain fot those of you down south
LB xx

Creena · 25/05/2008 10:56

Daisy - they had everything in there! Loads of prams as I recall. The Stoke outlet is dual purpose - loads of bargains in the 'factory outlet' bit at the rfont of the store and the full range as per their website/catalogue at the back of the store. There were lots of prams of all different kinds in the front of the store. I can't remember which ones exactly as we were only looking for a stroller (I'm buying a phil & ted double pram from a friend for when this LO arrives) but I know that there was a fair few for sale. I'm planning on going back there again at some point, maybe when we eventually move house.

Roca - I honestly think that the jump from two to three is about the same as the jup from one to two. To be honest though, there is a 10 year age gap between my second and my third so by the time number three arrived, the other two were pretty much self sufficient and don't rely on me for as much as they did when they were little. In fact, the smallest age gap between the children up until now has been five years. I'm really worried about how I will cope when number four arrives - there will only be 18 months between the youngest two, the smallest age gap I've ever had. It will be a whole new experience for me and I am bricking it slightly! I will definitely be asking you and all the other ladies here for Top Tips on how yo cope with two little ones so close together. [bamboozled]

Bubbaz - oh no! How annoying! I trust that DS was ok though, which is the main thing. I'm sure that your friend's DH has his head in his hands at this very moment, feeling very ashamed of himself. I also reckon that he'll be offering to put it right (even if he doesn't think of it, I'm sure your friend will and she'll be telling him what needs to be done).

How's everyone else doing? Pretty grey and rainy where we are - not sure if I'll be out and about today after all.

Roca · 25/05/2008 11:10

I'm actually glad it's raining today (is pouring down here in Herts) as I have to do some work then am going to attempt to clear all wardrobes out in an attempt to get a little organised - I am sick of thumbing through my clothes to find most of them don't fit me anymore!

red polka dot Swimming costume from M&P - they had mys size in our local store but....it was slightly booby! I just couldn't bring myself to get it knowing on hol I will be siting in it with friend's DH and would be saying 'hello, what do you think of these puppies' (or rather rotweilers!)

Creena I think I actually want 4 - still can't imagine that this is the last time I will be pg or get to hold my new born - not sure how it will work out though as we are already a squash and a squeeze. I will have 3 under 5 come November so am sure I may change my mind then!

Bubbaz I hope it get's sorted and they make the first move otherwise it may be a bit awkward to approach, eh?

Roca · 25/05/2008 11:13

All I can say is Horrah - it's bank hol tomorrow so I get another lie-in - DH has been kindly doing mornings and any night wakes with DC when I reitterated that in a few months I would have to be up all night everynight feeding baby! I tend to milk the fact that in the last few years I been pregnant for x months (eek, years!) and breastfeeding for x months therefore I deserve lie-ins and me time!

lackaDAISYcal · 25/05/2008 11:48

thanks Creena . I'll defo check it out. I'm also dreading the arrival of DC3, as my age gap will be 17 months, rather than the 5 years between DS and DD........I've been told by women I know with a similar gap that it is hard at first, but much easier as they get older as they tend to entertain each other.

bubbaz, that is a shame about your buggy. I think offering to pay for a new one for you is the very least he could do. Maybe you can get a second hand one to get the same model? I hope DS is OK though. your lovely day in the Lakes sounds like just what I need at the minute.

DD fell off her baby box this morning and ricocheted her head off the living room floor. She had climbed onto the baby box which hadn't been out back under the bottom shelf properly and was using it as a convenient step to help reach the higher shelves. I think sho got more of a fright than anything and she seems OK now, but she howled for ages. Her poor wee brain though, getting rattled around in her skull like that.

It's DSs birthday to day and the boys are off fishing. DD and I were supposed to be with them, but the first place we went to (adjacent to a lovely park for DD and I), we couldn't find any of the right shops open to buy a day ticket, and we didn't have the right hooks. So, they have gone elsewhere via the fishing tackle shop for the right hooks, but the paths there aren't suitable for DD's pram, and is bascially a pond in the middle of nowhere so we are stuck at home. I'm a bit miffed about it as I would have liked to have spent the day with DS . I wanted them to wait till tomorrow, but DS got upset and then DH got arsey about him going on his birthday as it's what he wanted to do (he got some new fishing gear from the GPs and us) so they have gone themselves. We were all going to go out for a birthday tea on the way home, but there was no mention of that before they set off, so it looks like DD and I are fending for ourselves. I feel flat as a pancake now

bubbaz · 25/05/2008 12:30

Thankyou for your kind words everyone. I have managed to get a second hand one the sae off ebay but am still awaiting a phone call from the culprit hes got until about 4 then DH is going to see him.
Lackadaisycal poor you its awful when your plans don't work out hope you and DD have a lovely day
Loabella at the Kaiser cheifs i love them DS loved I predict a riot when I was pg and his fave now is Ruby!
Hope everyone else is well x

lackaDAISYcal · 25/05/2008 13:51

Yorkshire ladies......step this way

lackaDAISYcal · 25/05/2008 13:52

DD asleep so I am making good use of the time to MN quietly

We love the KCs in this house too.

misdee · 25/05/2008 13:54

what a pain bubbaz. keep the covers and basket though as spares.

i am in absolute agony. my hips feel like someone is driving a stake through them. can barely sit down, its horrible.

am hoping its just because i slept awkwardly last night and its not spd.

lackaDAISYcal · 25/05/2008 14:29

misdee. Have you got a support belt or some giant tubigrip?

Oblomov · 25/05/2008 14:35

You know I said I was blooming, the other day. I retract that. I feel terribel.
Ha, ha,ha.
Hope the hip pain goes away soon Misdee.
Have they rung yet Bubbaz ?

twinklingfairy · 25/05/2008 16:11

Do they know that he actually broke it?
If he was VV drunk, he may not be aware?

What a horrible sitation to be in wth a friend though

I am feeling absolutely dreadful I ended up at A&E yesterday, thought the NHS helpline told me I was going to be given an appointment with an on call doc. Instead, 2hrs of waiting for the on call doc to show up. They have given me some anti nausea drugs, but the keep sticking in my gullet and giving me heartburn which makes me think I need to be sick. Horrid vicious cycle. Also completey exhausted, don't know if that is the drugs, which he said could make me tied, or the distinct lack of food since Friday

DH has been really concerned for me, looking after DD whilst I slept all afternoon yesterday. But he is getting overwhelmed by the workload today and just let off steam, which was not pleasant and in fact very angering. I have enough to deal with without having to deal with a stroppy full grown man.
He seems to think that the house ought to be spotless and gets all het up cos DD spreads her toys far and wide throughout the day, after he has tidied them away, how dare she!
I just had to explain that is was her play room and she had every right to do that, he would just have to lighten up.

The kitchens a mess, whines he. But I am barel doing any eating, nevermind cooking, so that one is down to him.
Why do men explode in the kitchen? Do they really need to use every pot and dish we own?

bubbaz · 25/05/2008 16:13

Nope DH has tried twice and he is ignoring his calls I don't know if he is ashamed or just a big t**t.
I'm guessing the latter. I have now paid for the replacement and we will be demanding at least half! I have stripped everything off the frame like you suggested misdee - Good idea!
Hope you feel better soon Oblomov and Misdee and they are just temporary glitches!

lackaDAISYcal · 25/05/2008 16:23

sorry you are still feeling bad twinkling. Sending you lots of get over the MS vibes. {{{{hugs}}}} Were they happy that everything is OK with bub? Sorry too that your DH is being less than totally supportive. I don't think men realise just how much this being pregnant malarkey takes it out of you, and that is normally, let alone when you have hyper-emesis.

Tell him the house will have to wait until you're feeling better.

I can't comment on the kitchen thing though, as I'm a bit like that when I get going

I feel absolutely exhausted, but haven't been able to get my iron tablets from the chemist yet. I have no energy whatsoever and feel knackered even after an eight hour sleep. DD woke up in the night and I didn't even hear her

twinklingfairy · 25/05/2008 16:31

Yeah, that was said too.
I have enough to deal with without trying to make the house spotless for him.
It is so two faced though, he says his brother is too tense about the house and that he is much happier in our free flowing home, until he gets in a mood then he hates our house and it's 'lived in look' ie Mess.

Pick a camp, man!

bubbaz · 25/05/2008 16:41

Sorry twinkling crossed posts earlier. Sorry you are still feeling so poorly, my DH gets het up about mess when hes not in the best mood too! Hugs to you.
It did cross my mind that they might have forgotten the incident last night DH is going to pop round later and have a word to gently remind him!!

lackaDAISYcal · 25/05/2008 16:44

twinkling, my DH is like that too. He tells me to leave things and then he will do it when he is home (he is usually away Tuesday - Friday), then he whinges about how he is always having to clear up after me. It makes me seethe; why offer if he doesn't like doing his bit?

I feel awful now; can anaemia make you feel sick and nauseous or am I coming down with something? I feel as though I could sleep for a week and have been really wheezy for the last few days.

and is there a quick fix iron deficient rescue remedy?

Roca · 25/05/2008 18:01

what is going on? I feel exhausted today too - literally no energy and I have grabbed naps a couple of times today. Everything I wanted to do today hasn't been done which makes me feel even worse but I just can't get the energy up. Can it be down the the pregnancy? Silly question I know but at 15 weeks should the tiredness still be hitting hard?

Aren't DHs just a mare sometimes - mine is great most of the time.. BUT as I think I said a while ago - I don't think will quite ever understand what it's like to be pg and want to rest when you think your body is telling you too. He announced yesterday we was going out for drinks today with the lads at 5ish for his birthday - I feel bad as I always get a right strop on as our weekends are such precious time and I really need the help having had the 2 kids all day everyday in the week. But then he is great if I want to go out to shops or something but then I also think dads are lucky as they can 'enjoy' play time a bit more as he doens;t have the other 'mother' worries that women have...oops I'm rambling.

I always have the hunp if DH goes out until the kids go to bed then I think 'ahh, lovely, house to myself!'

LolaBella · 26/05/2008 10:09

Bubbaz any luck with getting any money yet??

Well had a great day yesterday a full house for our bar b, the weather was lovely (a little windy but warm) and everybody nice and drunk apart from me!! - i did however find some non-alcoholic Holsten Pils larger which is quite nice and helped me feel part of the gang.

Am going maternity shopping today - i'v got to 17 + 5 and can no longer do the top buttons up on my trousers up, i'v been wearing the same pair of maternity jeans all weekend which is the only thing that fits over bump

Hope everybody is having a lovely long lie in and lazy day xx

chocolategal · 26/05/2008 10:34

hi, just a quick question for you ladies.
is everyone still drinking their normal amounts of caffeine?
i dont drink tea or coffee anyway but do like the odd can of pepsi/coke from time to time ( ok, maybe once a day!?)
this this too much? just got me thinking after someone at work said i should cut out all caffeine completely!???
