Thomasina - I am at Whipps X in East London. They have a couple of scanners in Antenatal Clinic but the proper ultrasound dept is a good 10mins walk away! They do the 20wk anomaly scan in the 'proper' place because the equipment is a bit more sophisticated. I am 18+4 today, so they should be able to tell you the sex of your baby when you have your scan, if they can be bothered. This consultant was a lovely, jolly chap, so I think I'll stick with this hospital now (was thinking of moving to Homerton).
Thanks for all the congrats...I'm still not sure whether to trust it. I went shopping today and restrained myself from buying any baby stuff (will wait till sale time!), though managed to buy myself a cardigan to celebrate!
soexcited I have been mostly avoiding peanuts because ds had quite bad eczema. It's under control now...seems to have got better as he got older, but it was truly awful when he was about 6-18mths, he couldn't sleep the poor, little mite. It doesn't seem to be affected at all by diet (he has loads of dairy now). I do miss peanut butter and a friend of mine makes a delicious African peanut stew, so I have indulged in that on rare occasions! Sorry about your sister's baby, it's a pain foodwise but I suppose you get used to it.
thomasina I am not feeling much movement either. Occasionally, like last night I had a hot chocolate and it was obv. a bit uncomfortable for poor little ds (who is nearer the top of my uterus) so he was kicking around a bit. With my last child, if I lay in the bath he would always move around, but I think that was a bit later on like 24wks+. Believe me, the kicks are nice but when you have them at night they can get a bit tedious and you also worry more when you haven't felt any for a few hours, so am enjoying this time at the moment where I don't feel a lot of movement.
