isaidno, gillythekid, Thanks for your info about the massage. It's not icky but I don't understand quite how people incorporate it into foreplay as some information on the subject suggests!

Vix - welcome

Rumpel- I am in awe, I couldn't wear those shoes when I wasn't pregnant. Also I want photos of your bedroom!!

I don't think there is anything to feel guilty about by not enjoying pregnancy, not enjoying pregnancy is NOT the same as not being happy that you are pregnant.
I have to sometimes tell DH when I am in floods of tears and demanding my life back that I do want to be pregnant and I am very happy that we are having a baby together but being pregnant isn't much fun.

sweetkitty · 08/06/2008 11:23

Morning hope everyone else had a comfy night, I went upstairs at 9 to watch TV and fell asleep, I am so tired these days. I do get up at 7am though in my defence.

isaidno - well done on the knitting I kind of abandoned mine after the cardigan was a disaster (it was the end doing the collar bit) anyway I bought a couple of hand knitted ones off ebay and they are lovely. Only cost £4.00 that included the p&p the wool would have been that itself.

butterfly - I love prams too, I would love a big Silvercross pram for having out the garden when it's nice but it's a bit expensive just for a few days. Would also love a Bugaboo but will settle for a P&T

The thing about all the BHs is at first you think "oh this could be it?" but when it isn't and it's the 20th time you get so "oh well it's not it" so when the time actually comes and your doubled up you are still saying "oh it's only BHs" I think this time the baby will be half out and I will still be saying "it's only BHs" erm as if

Kaz1967 · 08/06/2008 11:50

I am so glad I am not the only one who is not enjoying the being pregnant bit I feel bad as I have waited so long for it to happen. What I am looking forward to is holding this little one in my arms and finally meeting them

pigleychez · 08/06/2008 14:16

hi everyone,

Just returned from sunny Brighton. Went there for a baby show... we got there before it opened and OMG you should have seen the queue! Never seen so many bumps and buggys in one place! Didnt end up buying a thing, just came home with a carrier full of leaflets.

Afterwards we took a stroll along the sea front and along the pier where we stopped for fish and chips for lunch. Lovely to be spending quality time with DH and enjoying the sun but i am absolutely knackered now! My feet are throbbing and im having a little lay on the sofa to recover. DH is just cutting up a yummy fresh pinapple.

Hope everyones got the good weather and enjoying their Sunday.

Libra1975 · 08/06/2008 14:28

Just had 2 hour nap/doze, very pleasant, now thinking about getting dressed and going to watch DH play cricket, am weighing the fact that the minute I step outdoors I will start sneezing again against the fact his cricket team do the most amazing cricket teas at 4pm and it's always rude to miss free food

Pigley, the baby show sounds like hell but the rest of your day sounds lovely

I still haven't had BH!

disneystar · 08/06/2008 14:56

hi all

as to the perineal massage i never have bothered and birthed 6 children never tore once

nor sure what that says about my private bits though

Mummywannabe · 08/06/2008 18:18

Hi all.

Thanks for the messages of support over cramps, lots better today, bit niggly but better. Most likely TMI but i think little one might have started to engaged and this might explain pains, when i bend down today it feel like something is there

Pigley - show sounds like hell! Glad your resting now though.

pigleychez · 08/06/2008 18:25

Mummywannabe-

When i saw the midwife thursday I was 2/5ths engaged. I told her i had been feeling sharp shooting pains down there and she said thats what it was.Baby's head coming engaging. Also had the feeling of something there if you know what i mean.
Friends have since agreed thats whats they felt too.

Had loads more "feelings" since then so im guessing baby will be even futher engaged when I go next week.

Feet still hurting so think i might give them a soak later then get DH to give them a rub

TJuice · 08/06/2008 18:40

LADIES!!

I am home from hospital - I went into labour last Tuesday and had Elodie 4 hours later!

She so kindly waited until we got hitched!

And she is sooooooo cute!

The birth was okay - shockingly painful as I seemed to go from 0-10cm in rapid time but I had an epidural that was fab for about 45 mins until i had to push her out. It took 15 mins for that part and nothing really helps that pain.

But I have had a nightmare in hospital as she lost too much weight and I took a few days for the milk to come in. And latching on is still tricky for me, so she is getting formula top-ups for the next two days.

Anyway, more details later. I am so excited to be at home. Danish hospitals are pretty good but its a heatwave here and I was on a special ward because she is technically premature so I had to share with 3 other women and it was like Tenko!!!

Trying to upload pics soonest.

She's in her cot right now and making all kinds of weird squawkey noises . . .

pigleychez · 08/06/2008 18:41

meant to say babys head coming down and engaging

pigleychez · 08/06/2008 18:46

OMG- Crossed posts with you Tjuice.

I thought we hadnt heard very much from you lately, but thought maybe you were enjoying married life

Wow! Our Second baby
Many many congratulations to you and MR Tjuice!
What a way to start married life!

Get thoose pics up asap!

So very happy for you both and glad you and Elodie are both ok. - Lovely name by the way

libralady · 08/06/2008 18:48

Congratulations Mrs TJuice! Wow what a surprise!
Glad you had a nice birht but shame about the Tenko bit!

TJuice · 08/06/2008 18:49

Thanks pigley!

Pics are on now.

I must admit I am having major swings of elation and then feeling really overwhelmed. Totally tired and hormonal still but it just all happened so quickly and its a bit surreal . . .

libralady · 08/06/2008 18:51

Must admit I am a bit .
I've just about had enough now and I've still got two more weeks at work. Things have happened here over the last few days and I am now panicking.
I'll have a good moan about it later after I've finished cooking dinner if you guys don't mind. May feel better when I've got it off my chest!

pigleychez · 08/06/2008 18:56

Tjuice- Just looked at your pics....Shes Gorgeous !!!! Such a sweety! You must be so proud!

What a manic few weeks though!- no wonder you emotions are all over the place.

Married and baby in the space of a few days would be enough for anyone...

Really am very happy for you both

am wanting mine now

pigleychez · 08/06/2008 18:57

What did she weigh Tjuice?

TJuice · 08/06/2008 19:34

i think it was 7lbs. but she lost more than 10% which is why its been such a stressful week, trying to get her weight up again.

Libra1975 · 08/06/2008 19:35

Aww she looks perfect, congratulations!!

libralady · 08/06/2008 19:40

7lb for a baby that is termed prem is fantastic. Pictures are fab too. You look a very happy and contented family. What a wonderful wedding present.

RUMPEL · 08/06/2008 19:53

WOW TJUICE - she is as cute as a wee button well done you and congrats to you both Must have been all the stress of the weddign that brought her early. Was your FIL still at yours then? 7lb is a great weight for a premmie and I totally understand the bf nightmare scenario - my DD was 7lb and the same thing happened to us - I did ff and bf for 6 months.

SWEETKITTY - I have 3 cats but they have never attempted to scratch my bed - they would be sent to the cat home!! I don't really let them up on my bed though as anything that bites will bite me and I get a terrible reaction to bites. They get lookced into the utility room at night too - keeps the gallbladders in 1 place

BUTTERFLY - you must walk everywhere then with a pram like that! Wouldn't fit in my Mini

Had a very busy day on my feet all day and now sore bump, aching feet and generally tired/grumpy so off to watch BB form last night with a shandy

PIGLEY - not like you to come home empty handed

RUMPEL · 08/06/2008 19:54

LIBRA - my new shoes are yummy - need to lose 3 stone though to look really good in them!

purplejennyrose · 08/06/2008 19:54

Evening all - and huge congrats TJuice!!! Elodie is beautiful - she looks so teeny in her cot!
Lovely lovely lovely! Hope feeding settles down soon - we had a nightmare for first couple of weeks and then it all just started to work out.
Want mine now!!!

JODIEhavingababy · 08/06/2008 19:55

Just escaped the BBQ, needed a quiet 5 mins, and it's taken me ages to catch up, Wasn't going to post, but WOW... Another baby!

TJUICE Congrats, how amazing, she is so beautiful!

Libra1975 · 08/06/2008 20:00

Rumpel - sorry didn't mean to imply your shoes didn't look good, just that I couldn't walk in that heel whatever the condition of the rest of my body! (being 5'10 and lazy means I don't wear heels very often!)

Cats are evil.

I know this is a really stupid question to ask but how do you pronounce Elodie?

RUMPEL · 08/06/2008 20:18

LIBRA - don't be daft!! You hormonal over sensitive woman I haven't walked in heels for aeons either but I am just fed up being dowdy and boring. I used to wear all manner of exotic clothing and boots/shoes but life changed and then I got pg!! Just want ot feel a bit like 'me' again. I would so love to have made it to 5'10 - bet my DD does. I am 5'8.5 (and love huge platforms )usually).
You'll be a dog person then?

Pronounce Elodie:

El as in hell with the h dropped, o as in Oh my goodness, die as in Dee.
