Neez - just wanted to add congratulations - they are beautiful and well done!

Hello everyone else - have been lurking but can only just manage to read everything let alone post.

Am 34 weeks today and usually slim ankles the size of small oil tankers, toes like chipolatas. Have been quite relieved to hear everyone elses feet have shot up too, although sorry to hear so!

splodgesmum · 09/05/2008 19:26

Neenz, what beautiful children - and an inspiring birth story too. I'm even more convinced I want a natural birth - if you can birth twins naturally then I'm sure I can manage just one!

Very impressed with the pic and story so soon after the babies' birth too - my friend took 3 months to get me pics of her twins, so top marks to you!

Paro, I know I've missed you cos you'll be in hospital now but best wishes and look forward to hearing your news too.

I have some good news too, not as exciting as birth stories but I was excited and wanted to share! Had my consultant appointment today and he was so pleased with my progress that he's signed us off consultant care! This may seem like a small thing but after 5 years of ttc, fertility treatment, m/cs, operations, threatened m/c this time (lots of bleeding), constant monitoring, ante-natal depression, etc, etc, it is so nice to be NORMAL!

Anyway, as I said, not v exciting, but I haven't stopped smiling since!

emotionalwreck · 09/05/2008 19:46

Poppy - think the crux of it is I saw another consultant as mine was off sick. He couldn't agree with the midwife about whether its breech. All he was bothered about was that I haven't got gestational diabetes (which I haven't. Yay!) So he's written in my notes for "trial vaginal delivery" if I go in the next 3 weeks, otherwise I'll get a scan to confirm size and lie.

Had a caesarean last time after a failed induction and I had diabetes, so I'm now terrified of a normal labour with a big breech baby!

Judy1234 · 09/05/2008 19:49

Neenz what a lovely story. What gorgeous twins. Ours are 9 but I remember the birth so well. One born at home, one in another borough in hospital 7 hours later but both vaginally. It's good people can see it's possible to give birth without a C section with twins. Ours were born at 40 weeks to the day which is very rare. What were yours?

I always fed them both at the same time and if one woke at night woke the other and fed them together which was the bit that made it easiest, my top tip for twins.

nannyjo · 09/05/2008 19:53

Just wondering (complete iteruption, sorry) How do you tidy up your lady garden??? I'm not particularly large when pregnant but still found it impossible to do. I'm certainly not trusting my DH!!! I've always just let it go out of control on a temporary lapse. Also if you don't know exactly when it's gonna be, I've always thought i'd be more embarrased about stubble then I would be about overgrown (lets face it many women are always overgrown and I'm sure the midwife is used to it.

Might try to go in neatly this time though

debinaustria · 09/05/2008 20:16

Another funny Austrian hotel offering Fango mud packs no mention of garlic though Rolf. The man doing the massages puts me off this one!

Have narrowed down shortlist to about 3 , just have to decide and book!!

sophiewd · 09/05/2008 21:23

Jealous of you having a holiday Deb.

Right Day 1 of potty training, she loves wearing her new pants but is wary of th epotty, sometimes she sits on it and keeps inspecting, other times just screams. lots of accidents and tells us when she has done a poo (covers everything). We have decided that she will stay in a nappy until we have finsihed breakfast tomorrow then will go for it again. If it hasn't happened by half term in 2 weeks then will stop until she has a break from nursery in August. We are really lucky that her nursery is very supportive, just bring in lots of changes of clothes

makecakesnotwar · 09/05/2008 22:11

Oh my God...no time to catch up today and quite frankly I don't care. Am so bowled away by Neenz's FANTASTIC news, I can't think about anything else.

YOu are a goddess, twins lady. Well done. Now, where's the list...we need to start a graduates section!!!!!!

PregnantPenguin · 09/05/2008 22:24

So happy for you Neenz - and thank you so much for sharing your birth story with us. I am glad that everyone else has mentioned being tearful, because the tears are pouring down my face (bloody hormones...). Absolutely beautiful photos.

thegreenfairy · 09/05/2008 22:30

josey in Bristol they consider 37 weeks full term so as long as you hit 37 you can have a HB.
I thought this was standard?
Any way, the bottom line is you can refuse to go in...

thegreenfairy · 09/05/2008 23:04

Doh, posted before I read Neenz' story.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Wh at an amazing story - and they are SO beautiful. What wonderful news!

xxgemmalou22xx · 09/05/2008 23:28

oh my gosh this board moves so fast if i dont check it a couple of times a day i get lost lol!

sophiewd · 10/05/2008 07:41

Morning all, breakfast to do and then on with potty training, washing, changing beds.

debinaustria · 10/05/2008 07:48

You've got a busy day there Sophie - try not to do too much. Good luck with the potty training

sophiewd · 10/05/2008 07:50

DH will change the rooms, I get to follow DD round with a potty.

A hint - when you are invited to a wedding and you have to stay the night book ahead, don't phone up at 7.45 in the morning when you are on your way down.

debinaustria · 10/05/2008 08:24

That is leaving it a little late!! I have just e-mailed the place we want to go to , asking for their best, last minute offer! Well, people do it to us!

Enjoy your day with the potty, how old's your dd?

sophiewd · 10/05/2008 08:47

She is 2 and 4 months we are giving it 2 weeks if she hasn't got it sorted by then then we will stop until she is on a break in August. Nursery are very supportive.

sophiewd · 10/05/2008 08:48

Good luck with finding somewhere.

Upsidedowncake · 10/05/2008 09:03

Sophie, very good luck luck with the potty training - you may remember that we have just been through it with DS - at exactly the same age. The first few days were very dodgy and we seriously considered giving up, but he seems to have got it now. He got wees within about 4 days but only got his poos sorted a week ago (after three weeks). Like you, it helped that nursery were so supportive. It's brilliant that you can do it in the lovely weather!

Debs, hope you find somewhere lovely! Lucky you having a holiday!

Still so chuffed for Neenz. She has real babies! (I know that sounds odd, but it all gets a bit academic sometimes and I find it easy to forget that we'll end up with babies at the end!)

Upsidedowncake · 10/05/2008 09:08

Oh the hubris of it. DS just pooed his pants for the first time in a week just as I was typing that last post ...

debinaustria · 10/05/2008 09:56

Realisation has hit me - in 2-3 years time I'll be going through the potty training again - AARGH!!!Good luck to the 2 of you

Had an awful dream last night that I was bleeding - loads of red blood, then I woke up before I knew what happened at the end of the dream, left me a bit jittery today!

Deciding between a hotel within walking distance of parks, shops, with it's own pool, and tennis courts(for dh and the boys naturally) but it would just be one bedroom for the 4 of us. Or a hotel where we'll need the car, with playroom, play area, no pool but a family apartment with 2 sep sleeping places.Decisions, decisions eh?

ktpie · 10/05/2008 10:08

Morning everyone. It's another lovely day here. Just relaxing a bit before we pack and go away this afternoon, will be away until wednesday, I wonder if there will be any more babies by then? Hopefully not mine but will take my notes with me just in case!

Debs- Hope you enjoy your holiday as well, once you have decided where to go!

bitofadramaqueen · 10/05/2008 10:15

splodgesmum - that's really good news, no wonder you're pleased.

Good luck with potty training to those of you embarking on it - have all that to look forward to I guess.

Catching up on housework today . Not nesting though, its just that after the last few weeks of revision this place needs a serious clean!!!

Deb good luck with finding a holiday destination.

nannyjo - I dont think any of us are particularly expert at keeping our lady gardens tidy at this stage of pregnancy - you have to read our last thread to see how we came up with the title of this one .

sophiewd · 10/05/2008 10:34

ktpie - enjoy your break are you going anywhere nice?

makecakesnotwar · 10/05/2008 10:48

Morning all- quick post before our visitors arrive for the weekend. Have hobbit feet- the joys of water retention- a pair of summer sandals I bought last week don't fit this week. Grr.

Feeling great though, enormous, and very excited to be following Neenz...I just can't wait to hold my daughter (sob, sob)...don't expect such an amazing birth story though!

Love to you all, hugs if you need them, and have a great weekend. xx
