Morning All - just done the weekend catch-up...

Well, had 20wk scan on Friday and I caved in and asked to know the sex - its 90% sure that we are having a girl.... Everything else was okay and normal..

I did have a moment though... The clinic was running late (as usual) so I was kept waiting for alomst an hour with a very full bladder (there was no way that I could go to the loo and let a little bit out - it would have been Niagra Falls or nothing!!)

Anyway, when they finally called my name I made a comment to the sonographer along the lines of "thank goodness for that I think I'm going to burst" etc etc. To which he replied "I am sorry - there have been a lot of complications today..." I felt a bit foolish cos that meant that there were some ladies who had bad news

eandz · 19/05/2008 12:40

MissusH, congrats on the girl!

so I just watched the latest desperate housewives episode (the season 4 finale) and it was AMAZING! I really don't know if september can come soon enough! and I really hope I get to watch the seasons 1st episode with my son...hoping

!!! i hope he doesn't turn out to be a mama's boy!!!

Hi all. Glad to hear more good scan news!

We had MIL visit this weekend and she is such hard work. She literally never lifted a finger and kept going back to bed every couple of hours. I've asked DP not to let her come again for a while as it's hard work waiting on someone.

We also finally put DS in his 'big boy bed'. Went quite well - he went to bed no problems, but he woke up at 2am crying as he'd got stuck under the duvet. He was then awake for a couple of hours so I'm feeling shattered today. Anyone of you with older children got any tips?

Slinkie we'll be near each other for mat leave won't we? We can have some fun together I'm sure.

Meglet I'm the same as you with the whole bf thing. I hated it last time and was relieved when I gave up. I keep veering to and fro with regards to trying it for this baby. I had such a happy time last time round, really enjoyed the whole experience, and am worried that attempting to bf will make the whole thing fraught.

eandz · 19/05/2008 13:01

is anyone gonna start the new thread?

Sunshinemummy · 19/05/2008 13:22

Done here

surelyyoucantbeserious · 19/05/2008 13:23

lollipop - yes. In fact I've probably already forgotten what your question was. Work is increasingly difficult because I have ZERO concentration!

Had scan last week and all fine. We didn't find out in the end re: boy/girl so bets are on!

Hope everyone is well. Not logged on for ages as I'm a bit busy at the mo. Really just want to sit at home and look at buggy catalogues but looks like that's not going to happen for a while!!

Sunshinemummy · 19/05/2008 13:26

Hi all - the link in my last message is the new thread. Sorry - bit opaque!

surelyyoucantbeserious · 19/05/2008 13:37

Kirstygem I'm sure we all empathise...can you tag any holidays on to the beginning of your mat leave?

Don't feel bad about going on leave 'early'. My SIL gave me good advice - the most important thing is that you are happy and relaxed as possible. Only a few years ago people were starting mat leave when they were 6 months pregnant so do not feel bad and do what suits you, no one can dictate that. Doesn't matter what others say about your decision.

This whole preggers thing is exhausting. I seem to have lots of unhelpful people telling me at the moment how well their wives, etc, felt in the 2nd trimester 'full of energy!!' - whereas I'm still pooped! Not as tired as 1st trimester but in a different way. Much more emotional and sensitive, and have the odd day where I just can't stop crying no matter how much I want to!

I'm sure we'll all be fine though and it will all be worth it.....

eandz · 19/05/2008 13:42

it's ok surelyyoucantbeserious, i cry every time i see a baby.

it's really getting annoying.

potxola · 20/05/2008 15:25

Pitufina Hi, I am from near Bilbao. I live in Exeter now. I have been in the UK for almost 20 yrs.No plans or intentions to go back for good.
Why was that your nickname?, where you really tiny? Los pitufos were very small.

Pidge · 20/05/2008 15:33

potxola - we're all on a new thread here
